Welcome At Trinity, our passion is to see the love of Jesus at the center of each life, at the heart of every community and as the source of all our actions. One of the best ways that we can accomplish this mission is by serving others. Together, we have the opportunity to be part of God’s redemptive mission in this world. Through serving locally, nationally and globally, our hope is to share the transformational love of Jesus with the world.

AT TRINITY

There are many ways that you can lend a helping hand and put your unique skills, abilities and experiences to use, all the while getting to know those in the church family even better as you serve side by side.

Kids

Youth

We need 6-10 volunteers for each Sunday service in order to provide the best experience possible for our children and families. We also have opportunities to serve at our kids midweek programs (school year) and a seasonal opportunity to serve for the week of Sky Kids (summer).

We need 8-12 volunteers to serve as Huddle leaders for our teens’ small group meetings midweek. We also have opportunities to serve with Middle School on Sunday morning and have seasonal opportunities for the annual Winter Retreat and the weeklong SummerQuest camp.

First Impressions & Communion Servers We need 10-12 volunteers for each Sunday service to make people feel welcome, and to create a warm and inviting environment. The specific roles needed are Greeters, Next Steps Host and Communion.

Our Meals Ministry Team provides meals for people in times of illness, grief or a new baby. Please let us know if you would like to be on call to make (or buy) and deliver meals.

One of the best ways to grow in your faith is to serve others!

We have a number of ways that you can get involved with some amazing community partners alongside other awesome people from the Trinity community.

Filling in the Blanks Filling in the Blanks fights childhood hunger by providing children in need with meals on the weekends.

When: Once per month on Thursdays (during the school year) Who: Adults, teenagers What: Deliver food and read to preschoolers Where: Children’s Learning Center Classrooms, located in Stamford

New Covenant Center Through their soup kitchen, New Covenant Center provides 300 healthy, hot, nutritious meals daily to all those who are hungry.

When: We serve on the second Saturday and the last Wednesday of every month.

Who: Adults, teenagers or mature children with their parents What: For each day, we have two spots to cook (2:15-4:15 pm) and 5-6 spots to serve the meal (4:15-5:30 pm).

Pacific House Pacific House serves 70-100 men breakfast and dinner daily and provides overnight emergency beds for men, and operates a dropin day program that provides case management services for men and women. Serving the New Canaan, Darien, Greenwich and Stamford areas.

When: Once per month on Wednesdays

Provides emergency assistance for basic needs plus other support to individuals and families as they move toward financial stability. Our vision is communities of financially-stable, hunger-free homes, with educational opportunities for all.

What: Preparing dinner (2:30-4:30pm), serving dinner (5:15-6:30pm) or delivering dinner (4:30-5:15pm).

Bridgeport Rescue Mission www.bridgeportrescuemission.org Fighting poverty from the inside out by providing a place of hope and dignity as we feed the hungry, clothe the needy, shelter the homeless, and restore the addicted.

Where we serve: FCA is a global organization that is over 65 years old and in 84 Countries. We are expanding into Connecticut and currently have a presence in Darien, New Canaan and Stamford. Our goal is to get into Greenwich High School this fall and expand throughout the rest of Fairfield county and eventually entire State.

To present Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior, to independent school students, to the end that they might come to know Him and glorify God through their Christian witness and through lives of Christian service in the Church and in the world.

Where we serve: Middle and upper school students in Fairfield and Westchester Counties, primarily at the independent private schools.

Volunteer opportunities: Help serve and connect with students at our regular meetings during the school year. During the summer on Martha’s Vineyard serving with FOCUS summer programs. Volunteers can lead on a program with students or behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Reducing hunger and food waste in local communities in America.

Where we serve: Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield Counties, and operate in 12 states as well as the District of Colombia.

Life line Chaplaincy www.LLChaplaincy.org Life Line Chaplaincy exists to offer compassionate support for our brave first responders and their families (of any faith or of no faith) as they face these crises. First responders (police, firefighters and EMTs) constantly face extreme levels of personal danger. Our first responders frequently deal with desperate, traumatic, and emotionally exhausting scenarios. They encounter the worst societal evils known to humanity on a daily basis. The safety and wellbeing of our communities is directly linked to the mental and spiritual wellbeing of our first responders. Life Line Chaplaincy serve as “spiritual care providers� to our first responders who are the highest level of risk of suicide, PTSD, substance abuse, and divorce.

Volunteer opportunities: Local opportunities include creating or researching curriculums and ways to better teach the Gospel to children in Central America or create marketing materials focus on Christian/poverty relief. Research and implement ways to educate children in poverty in rural Honduras using technology. Research organizations/foundations that want to invest in a Christian organization to teach the Gospel and break the cycle of poverty.

Volunteer opportunities: Visiting the Iraqi & Syrian Refugees in Jordan & helping with Relief work, we can take Volunteers to Jordan to help with the Iraqi & Syrian refugees in Jordan, we could take very few people to Gaza if they have something unique to offer.

Abroad opportunities include Short Term Mission Trips to Teupasenti, Honduras to do door to door evangelism, musicians to start a Christian band with children, teaching computers and technology, or building projects like fixing homes for seniors, building latrines, or building Sunday School classrooms.

We have a vision to see a thriving Uganda full Godly leaders influencing all spheres of society, an increase in sustainable community partnerships delivering holistic transformation, and a re-imagined and revived church reflecting and advancing the kingdom of God. Starfish brings life, hope and opportunity to children orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS in South Africa. We identify the very best communitybased organizations and partner with them to bring health, education and protection to orphans.

The primary causes that lead to high risk are poverty, being orphaned or a single parent and poor law enforcement & government oversight.

Volunteer opportunities: The best thing you can do locally is pray! We invite you to join us in praying for the programs, staff, volunteers and church partners of World Relief. Pray specifically for the displaced and refugees in the Middle East. Another way to serve is to advocate. Join World Relief in following the of Jesus by advocating on behalf of individuals and communities, as well as working to influence the policies and structures that create poverty and oppression‌.

Supporting Local and International Missionaries Our desire is that each of our missionary partners would have a Barnabas Group (named after the apostle Paul’s encourager and companion), a group of 2-12 people who commit to supporting them through prayer, encouragement, regular communication, and practical service.

Joining a Barnabas Group means committing to pray on at least a weekly basis for the missionary, meeting with your group every 4-8 weeks to pray together, staying in regular communication with the missionary and supporting the missionary practically when he or she is in the U.S. Our hope is to form these missionary support groups to uplift local organizations in their missionary work Rob
