OnewayofdoingthisisthroughabetterunderstandingofTheUniversalChrist. Jesusisthepatternofbeinghumanjustlikeus(Hebrews 4:15),whoshoweduswhatthefullhumanmightlooklike,ifwecould fullyliveintoitasChrist(Ephesians4:12-17). Rohrrealisticallyquips, “Frankly,Jesuscametoshowushowtobefullyhumanmorethanhow tobespiritual,andtheprocessstillseemstobeinitsearlystages.” As wegrowintoourhumanityandourconsciousnessisraised(weare createdinGod’simageandgrowintoGod’slikeness),wegrowinthe universalChrist! Faithisnotjustalistofthingstobelieveorbelonging toagroupoflikemindedpeople,butawayofliving,trustinginChrist’s indwellingpresence,thatcantransformourlivesaswerecognizethe interconnectednessofallpeopleandallofcreation. Thiscanbeabig changeinourunderstandingandinourworldview. WhenJesusfirst preached,“Repent,forthekingdomofGodisathand”hewasnot makingamoralisticthreatto“cleanupyouract-orelse!” Theoriginal meaningistalkingaboutaprimalchangeofmind,achangeof worldview,foryourwayofprocessinghowthingsare-andonlyafter thefact,aboutaspecificchangeinbehavior. LectioDivinaisthepracticeofprayingthescriptures. "Lectio Divina", isa Latinterm,thatmeans"divinereading". Itdescribesawayofreadingthe ScriptureswherebywegraduallyletgoofourownagendaandopenourselvestowhatGodwantstosaytous.Joinuseachweekasweengagethis practiceusingthescripturethatwillbepreachedontheupcomingweekend. Thefirst15minutesofthegroupisCenteringPrayerwhileCathyplaysmeditativeharpmusicfollowedbyLectioDivina. ThismethodofprayerisbotharelationshipwithGodand disciplinetofosterthatrelationship.CenteringPrayerisnotmeantto replaceotherkindsofprayer. OurMen’s MiracleNetworkprovidessupporttopeopleandfamiliesinneed byprovidingmanpowertodoprojectsandtransportationtosuch thingsasdoctorappointments. Ourgoalistofostercommunityby strengtheningmeninChrist’sname.
