TCA Fund The TCA Fund, designed to strengthen and support key areas of school life, launched in September 2025. Through your faithful generosity, the TCA Fund has already made a meaningful impact across campus, helping provide resources needed to sustain and elevate the exceptional Christ-centered education that defines TCA. Thank you!

What is the TCA Fund?

The TCA Fund, our annual fund, makes our school exceptional and accessible by supporting initiatives beyond tuition.

Gifts to the TCA Fund provide resources for TCA leaders to meet needs and respond to opportunities which enhance experience and further the mission of TCA. The TCA Fund is the highest giving priority, and we ask families to support the annual fund every year. Throughout the history of our school, families have given above and beyond tuition to create the exceptional educational experience our students enjoy today, and we follow in their footsteps in a faithful pursuit of excellence.

TCA Circle Those who give $5,000 or more annually to the TCA Fund qualify for the TCA Circle, a recognized group making a significant impact on our mission.

OUR PEOPLE: • Student Tuition Aid — needs-based program helping qualified families afford a TCA education; an answer to prayers and a tremendous blessing to families

• Emergency assistance for faculty — provide financial assistance and encouragement to faculty facing unexpected crisis • Lower School literacy program teacher training — coaching sessions to learn the new curriculum and practice techniques

• Middle School STEM teacher training — new curriculum training and innovative teaching methods to engage Middle School students

• Atlas curriculum mapping — ability to map all curriculum preK-12, search for redundancies and gaps, and craft TCA standards for each course

• Guest speakers for students, faculty and parents — secure Christian

• Discover Week activities — provide students with hands-on learning experiences, field trips, service activities, supplies, entry costs and transportation

• Discover Week student trip scholarships — provide partial scholarships for life-changing educational and mission trips for Upper School students

CAMPUS ENHANCEMENTS: • Privacy screens — visual barrier to provide a safer, enclosed area on our Lower School and Early Childhood playgrounds

• Entrance gate cameras — license plate reader cameras for vehicles entering and leaving campus through the gate

• Parking lot cameras — ability to monitor all seven parking lots simultaneously, providing a visual record to review incidents, investigate issues and monitor campus activity

Because of you… our campus is being transformed An exciting and bold new chapter in Trojan athletics is here! The Pursuing Victory Campaign is a transformative initiative to elevate TCA athletic facilities and programs for every athlete’s experience, to strengthen the spirit of our entire community and invest in the future of our school.

Phase 1 projects ($6.8 million) are completed, including new turf and a blue track at Tom Landry Stadium; new turf, lights and flagpoles on the baseball and softball fields; and digital video scoreboards and resurfaced floor at the MCB gym.

Phase 2 projects (approximately $20 million) include new, expanded west grandstands at Tom Landry Stadium, player development areas for baseball and softball, and renovations to the Field House.

Grounded Coffee Co. Thanks to the generosity of the TCA community, Grounded Coffee Co. became a reality. Your gifts funded the entire project — construction, equipment, supplies, furniture, branded apparel for student workers, training, complimentary beverages for faculty and staff during opening week and curriculum for the entrepreneurship class.

Special thanks to our TCA friends Parks Coffee and Ascension Coffee Roasters.

The Upper School’s new coffee shop, Grounded Coffee Co., is perhaps the most anticipated innovation to TCA’s campus in 2026. The Honors Entrepreneurship class, led by Nikki Stinson, spent all year planning, constructing and launching this new business in the Upper School.

The student-created and student-run coffee shop opened in May and serves “Big Brew” coffee, a unique blend chosen by the class.

The name “Grounded” was chosen by the students based on Ephesians 3:17-19, which talks about being “rooted and grounded in love.” Those verses also helped inspire their mission statement, to “serve with excellence and integrity, creating a student-led space where the community comes together to enrich faith.” Although it has only been open for a few weeks, that sense of community and bringing people together over a shared love of coffee has already been evident.

Besides learning all the aspects of how to develop and run a business — branding, profit margins, inventories, quality control, scheduling, and more — students also gained experience in the problemsolving that comes with such an endeavor. Mrs. Stinson teaches her students that “not everything goes according to plan,” and the heart of entrepreneurship — and the theme of her class — is “to pivot, adapt and persevere through real-world obstacles.” The elegance and excellence of the new in-school shop is truly a testament to the constant determination and grit she instills in her students.

Donors often establish endowments to honor or remember people who have made a significant impact on their lives. The minimum to establish a named endowment is $25,000.

“God got a hold of me and compelled me to begin giving generously to TCA — starting now.”

- Dr. Bain Cate ’76 Dr. Bain Cate faithfully reads Trinity Today from cover to cover, drawn to what he calls the “spiritual DNA embedded in this institution” that shines through every story and photograph.

In the Summer 2025 issue, one particular article captured his attention. It highlighted the longstanding partnership between TCA supporters and former Board members Jim Valesano and Bill Millet, whose shared commitment has helped provide life-changing educational opportunities for students who otherwise could not afford to attend TCA. Their example stirred something in Dr. Cate’s heart.

As he reflected on their generosity, he began praying about how he could give back to the school he describes as “a spiritual lighthouse and beacon for North Texas that is spreading that light all over the world.”

Dr. Cate, the Class of 1976 valedictorian, went on to attend Baylor University before earning his medical degree from McGovern Medical School (UT Health-Houston). After completing his training and practicing medicine in Wichita, Kansas, he and his late wife, Jackie, moved to her hometown of Victoria, Texas, where they raised their five children. Following a distinguished career serving communities throughout South Central Texas, Dr. Cate now serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Texas A&M – DeTar Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program.

Yet long before his medical career began, TCA had already changed the trajectory of his life.

Although Dr. Cate grew up attending Park Cities Baptist Church with his family, it was during his very first chapel service at TCA that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Looking back, he credits the school with helping establish in him a lasting biblical worldview.

During a return visit to campus in the fall of 2025, Dr. Cate was deeply encouraged by what he experienced.

“I saw visual and audible evidence that the Spirit is alive and well at TCA,” he shared.

The visit prompted him to reflect on classmates and fellow students who had received tuition assistance during his years at TCA. He vividly remembered their gratitude, humility and kindness. He also felt moved to support the growing number of graduates who have returned to campus as faculty members, investing in the next generation of students.

As Dr. Cate prayed about these memories and convictions, God made His direction clear.

“God got a hold of me and compelled me to begin giving generously to TCA — starting now.”

In response, Dr. Cate established the Class of 1976 Endowment, creating a permanent source of scholarship support for students with demonstrated financial need. Named in honor of his graduating class as it celebrates its 50th reunion year, the endowment reflects his desire to make a TCA education accessible to future generations. He also hopes his classmates will join him in supporting the fund and extending the legacy of the Class of 1976.

“Nothing is more attractive spiritually than an attitude of gratitude,” Dr. Cate says.

As TCA’s 50th designated endowment scholarship fund, the Class of 1976 Endowment stands as both a celebration of God’s faithfulness and a testament to the power of grateful stewardship. Through this gift, which will be commemorated with a plaque added to the TCA Foundation Endowment Wall in the Upper School, Dr. Cate hopes to inspire a growing spirit of generosity, servanthood and Christ-centered impact throughout the TCA community.

Trinity Christian Academy is extraordinarily grateful for Dr. Cate’s faithful generosity and for the lasting legacy his gift will create in the lives of future students.
