In the Computing Technology course, students gain skills in data analysis, user experience design, web and app development, and creating simulations and games They learn to manage and secure data using hardware and software, while considering social, ethical, and legal responsibilities regarding data use, privacy, and cybersecurity.

Students explore emerging technologies and their impact on society and the environment. They develop proficiency in various hardware and software applications, including multimedia, digital media, virtual and augmented realities, gaming, graphical data, visualisations, networks, and devices. The course emphasises technical knowledge, social and cultural awareness, project management, and critical thinking skills. Students learn to apply their knowledge to new situations and enhance project management abilities through planning, collaboration, communication, and design. As a result, students become more confident, creative, and efficient in using and developing digital solutions, preparing them for further education, vocational paths, and personal interests. The Year 10 Computing Technology course requires students to complete two to three focus areas, including at least one group project. They must study Enterprise Information Systems and Software Development focus areas

Students will study from the following focus areas: Enterprise information systems - Modeling networks and connections

Enterprise information systems: Designing for user experience

Enterprise information systems: Analysing data

Software development: Creating games and simulations

Software development: Developing apps and web software

After studying Computing Technology in Year 9 and 10, students will have developed a range of very valuable skills and knowledge to pursue a study of Enterprise Computing or Software Engineering in Years 11 and 12.
