Dear Parents, Guardians, and Trinity community members, Welcome back for Term 4!

We are thrilled to have you back as we embark on the final term of the year. This term holds a special significance as it is a time for reflection, growth, and new beginnings.

Term 4 at Trinity Anglican College provides a unique opportunity for students to reflect on their journey so far and celebrate their achievements. It is a time to consolidate knowledge, refine skills, and set new goals for the future. Our dedicated teachers are here to support you as you navigate your subjects and prepare for upcoming exams and assessments. They will provide guidance, resources, and personalized feedback to help you succeed.

At Trinity Anglican College, we believe in holistic development. Term 4 is a time to reflect on personal growth, resilience, and character. Our values of respect, collaboration, and empathy are at the core of everything we do. We strive to cultivate a supportive and inclusive community where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Please note, that families should always refer to the College Calendar for scheduled events, as some events are subject to change. We may also add additional events to Term 4 as we celebrate a fantastic year at Trinity.

JUNIOR SCHOOL ASSEMBLY - Tuesday Week A from 2.05pm Our Junior School assemblies are held fortnightly.

Parents are invited to attend, and an email will be sent to families of any award recipient to ensure parents have the option to attend.

We also have a live stream ZOOM link available for families who can’t attend in person.

TERM 4 UNIFORM - Full Summer Formal & Sports Uniform Students will commence Term 4 in full summer uniform.

PE uniform can be worn on scheduled PE lessons and for Creative Pursuits days.

PE uniform for specific events will communicated by Event Information Letters to families.

Note: If the weather is cold, then the full winter uniform can be worn for the first two weeks of Term 4.

CREATIVE PURSUITS The Junior School is very proud of our K-2 and Year 3-6 Creative Pursuits program.

K-2 Monday A Week: 2.00pm - 3.10pm 3-6 Thursday B Week: 12.50pm - 3.10pm Students can wear either sports or formal uniforms on these days

Parent involvement is encouraged and we would love to see more of our parent community assisting with these K-2 and Year 3-6 activity groups.

KINDER - YEAR 2: Swimming Block A - Kinder: Thursday 14 to Thursday 21 September (Term 3) Block B - Year 1: Thursday 12 to Thursday 19 October (Term 4) Block C - Year 2: Friday 20 to Friday 27 October (Term 4) Uniform: Students can wear either sport or formal uniforms on these days.

YEAR 1: Wonga Wetlands Excursion Tuesday 10 October - Wonga Wetlands Our Year 1 students will be participating in an exploration of Wonga Wetlands. The day will add hands-on learning to their ‘Mini-Beasts ‘unit being covered in our Blended Learning subject. They will learn through activities such as Bird Watching, Treasure hunts, Macroinvertebrates investigation, Microscopes, Paleontology, bush construction (dhandha) and Recycling.

YEAR 6: Boys to the Bush Community Engagement Day Thursday 12 October Year 6 students will be participating in a community engagement day run by the organisation ‘Boys to the Bush’. The first part of that day will focus on students participating in cultural activities that centre around aspects and components of the Indigenous culture. The second part of the day will see students participating in sporting activities and events.

KINDER: Wagga Zoo and Aviary Visit Wednesday 18 October We are pleased to be offering our Kinders the fantastic opportunity to travel to Wagga Zoo and Aviary on Wednesday 18th October. This experience will support our learning about living and nonliving things, as well as being a fun-filled day of getting up close and personal with some Australian animals and birds, riding the miniature train and exploring the playgrounds.

JUNIOR SCHOOL: Ride to School Day Friday 27 October ‘Ride to School Day’, an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle, assist to reduce the stress of traffic congestion, to leave the car in the garage for a morning and get some fresh air, help reduce greenhouse emissions and begin the school day with energy.

Parents and friends are encouraged to join in and help us raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and community connection.

YEARS 3/4 and 5/6: Rugby Union Touch 7's Gala Day Wednesday 1 November A group of our Year 3,4,5 and 6 are participating in the annual Albury-Wodonga Primary School Touch 7's Gala Day. This event takes place at Murrayfield Oval and is facilitated with the support of ACT Brumbies Development Staff. It provides an excellent opportunity for children to demonstrate teamwork and explore potential new sporting interests.

KINDER 2024 TRANSITION DAYS Day 1: Wednesday 1 November Day 2: Wednesday 8 November Day 3: Wednesday 15 November Day 4: Wednesday 22 November

GRANDPARENTS DAY Friday 3 November Junior School Grandparents will be invited to visit the College and participate in fun interactive activities with their grandchildren and enjoy an afternoon tea together.

More information will be shared shortly.

YEAR 6: Mt Buffalo Abseiling Thursday 9 November We are delighted to communicate that our school has again been invited to take part in an Outdoor Education experience, run by Wodonga TAFE’s Outdoor Education and Recreational Tourism team at Mt Buffalo VIC. This event was offered to the College to support the Wodonga TAFE program and sees a small group of Year 6 students invited to abseil at Mt Buffalo.

This is not for all students and Year 6 teachers will advise parents of students invited to attend.

JUNIOR SCHOOL: Step-up Day Wednesday 22 November On this day we welcome all new 2024 students to the College. Our new students will join in with our existing Trinity enrolled students to spend a day in classes that are beginning to be set up for the following year. This allows our students and teachers to meet our new people and form connections before the start of 2024.

KINDER - YEAR 2: Swimming Day Thursday 23 November As part of the Junior School Swim Program, Kindergarten to Year 2 students will participate in a novelty-based Swim Carnival on Thursday 23 November. This is a fun-filled day celebrating the culmination of the K-2 Swim program, focused on participation and safety in the water.

YEAR 6: Graduation Dinner Monday 27 November We are very excited to host a Graduation Dinner to celebrate the end of Junior School for the Year 6 Class of 2023. This is a chance for us to celebrate the contributions our Year 6 cohort has given to our Junior School.

WHOLE SCHOOL: Trinity Carols Tuesday 5 December We will be hosting the Trinity Carols again this year at the College. This is an all-age family friendly event with musical entertainment, sing along carols, roving elves and a visit from Santa.

The College Café will be open during the evening and hot food hampers available for pre-order and to enjoy on the night. More information on how to order your hamper will be shared soon.

WHOLE SCHOOL: End of Year Celebrations Monday 11 December End of Year Celebration, previously ‘Speech Day’ at Trinity, is an opportunity for the College to reflect upon a fantastic 2023 school year and acknowledge the awesome individual efforts of our students.

CONNECTING WITH OUR TEACHERS The time immediately before and after school is precious for both teachers and students.

In the morning, teachers need to prepare for the day ahead, attend to classroom management and children’s work, listen to reading, complete duties, and meet with colleagues.

In regard to students, they need to collect belongings from their school bags, attend reading, develop independence, and socialise with friends. After school can be quite a frenetic time as students return from specialist classes, tidy classrooms, and collect belongings. Teachers are ensuring the end of the day is as smooth as possible and that their students are supervised until collected.

At Trinity Anglican College we pride ourselves on providing an atmosphere whereby parents feel comfortable approaching their child’s teacher to discuss a range of issues. It is important for parents to understand that time immediately before and after school is not always the most convenient time for parent/teacher meetings.

Therefore, we request the following times to remain free from parent/teacher meetings to allow teachers and students to commence and conclude the day with uninterrupted focus 8.45am - 9.00am and 3.15pm - 3.30pm.

By all means, email or call our staff, and we will be more than happy to arrange a planned time for you to raise a discussion regarding your child's experiences at Trinity.

PARENT TEACHER COMMUNICATION Communication and being able to access information with your child’s teacher, or key leaders at the school is a priority for us as a cohesive, connected Trinity community.

If you would like to discuss a concern with a teacher, please arrange an appointment with them, so that uninterrupted and dedicated time can be provided for you at the meeting.

Emailing the teacher, communicating via your child’s diary, or contacting the office are the simplest ways to make an appointment. Providing teachers with an idea on the main point or points of your enquiry or concern also allows for the staff member to prepare sufficiently.

Quality time is vital when discussing issues concerning your child and allowing us time to gain all the relevant information is essential. Your support and consideration in these matters is greatly appreciated by all.

Term 2 - Summer Uniform / Winter Uniform Transition The transition from summer uniform is the first two weeks of term. All students are to be in winter uniform by week three. Blazers are optional for Junior School students.
