Sinsinawa Dominican Tradition Dear Trinity Community,

I

would like to introduce myself. I am the newest Trinity Blazer! My name is Sister Judith Schaefer and I am serving as Interim President of Trinity High School. As a Sinsinawa Dominican Sister, I am thrilled to be here at this beloved school and look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event.

“As I told the Trinity women on Friday when I met them, I am here to help further a community of unity that honors diversity and is enriched by it.”

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and went to a Sinsinawa Dominican School where I fell in love with the Sisters. During my years as a professed member of the Congregation, I have had the opportunity and privilege of ministering in many places and roles, such as Palatine, Il (parish ministry), Sheboygan, WI (teaching 1st grade), Kalispell, MT (religious education), Independence, IA (high school and parish ministry), St. Louis, MO (study and congregation ministry), Madison, WI (congregation ministry), and Winona, MN (university professor and high school President). Lots of places and people — and I loved them all! I know I will love Trinity as well!

As I told the Trinity women on Friday when I met them, I am here to help further a community of unity that honors diversity and is enriched by it. The word “trinity” means “unity within and through difference.” The Trinity community models this definition! And, in the words of our special Dominican blessing, I pray . . .

Preparing for the Future

rinity High School is thrilled to announce that after a rigorous selection process, three seniors from the Class of 2019 have been granted early admission to their top choices and have been awarded significant scholarships through two prestigious college access programs.

Karime Sanchez ‘19 (St. Francis of Rome) was selected for early admission and a full scholarship to Columbia University in New York through QuestBridge National College Match.

Valued at over $200,000, this four-year scholarship will allow Karime to attend Columbia University, her top choice, with all college expenses covered. Karime plans to double major in political science and history with a possible minor in Latino Studies. Out of over 16,248 applicants, Karime was one of 1,044 from across the United States to have been selected as this year’s College Match Scholarship Recipient. Karime has been an active member of the Trinity community. She is a full-IB diploma candidate, Madonna Scholar, member of the Varsity Tennis Team, member of Class Counsel, serves as a Mazzuchelli Mentor, Ambassador, Officer for Trinity’s Art and Design (TAD) Club, and serves on the Opportunity Knocks Junior Board. Karime thanks Trinity for the incredible community it has provided. She credits the support she received with helping her grow into the person she is today, with so many ambitions for the future.

Hannah Gonzalez ‘19 (Frances Xavier Warde) and Princeanna Gibson ‘19 (Percy Julian Middle School) were also selected for early admission and full-tuition scholarships valued at over $150,000 through the Posse Foundation. Hannah Gonzalez will attend Connecticut College in New London, CT where she will pursue her interests in international relations, history, political science, and government with all tuition expenses covered. Hannah has also been named as a semi-finalist for the renowned Gates Foundation Scholarship. Hannah has been deeply involved in the Trinity community. She is a full-IB diploma candidate, lifelong Girl Scout achieving the highest rank of Ambassador and earning the prestigious Silver Award, and is an officer of the Students Aligned for Equity & Empowerment (SAFEE) Club.

Princeanna Gibson will attend Pomona College in Claremont, California which has an acceptance rate of less then 10%.

Valued at over $150,000, this four-year scholarship will allow Princeanna to pursue her ambition to study medicine, with all tuition expenses covered.

Princeanna has been heavily involved during her years at Trinity. She is a partial IB diploma student, Madonna Scholar, Holy Family Scholar, a member of Trinity’s Basketball and Track and Field Teams, has served as an Ambassador, and participates in several student clubs while also holding a job outside of school. Both Princeanna and Hannah credit Trinity in helping them reach their highest potential.

College Tour

In February, ten Trinity students and I ventured to the southeast for five days of college visits in the District of Columbia, Virginia and North Carolina. As part of Trinity’s commitment to college exploration, visits play an essential role in helping students visualize and plan for their future after graduation. Trinity students are offered multiple local visit opportunities during the year, however this inaugural long distance trip provided eight juniors and two sophomores the chance to not only learn about opportunities on nine different college campuses, but also experience a new region of the country.

During the first two days of the tour, students explored our nation’s capital. With campus tours at American University, Howard University, and Georgetown University, students got a feel for the academic opportunities and campus life at three different thriving urban schools. In between campus visits, the group made stops at some popular landmarks including The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and National Museum of American History, The White House, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.

From there, the group headed south to the University of Virginia and University of Richmond before traveling into North Carolina. At Elon University outside Winston-Salem, Trinity alumna and current Elon sophomore, Carly Uhlir ‘17 graciously shared her experiences about academics, student activities, athletics, and the local area while leading the group on a tour of the beautiful campus. At Wake Forest University, students were impressed by the vast options available in the campus dining center and the recently updated student recreation facility!

The tour wrapped up with a lively performance of Mama Mia in downtown Raleigh, and a final day of visits at historic academic powerhouses and basketball rivals, Duke University and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Students were impressed by the beauty, rich traditions, and vast resources of these schools based within the Research Triangle.

Based on the success of the tour, plans for a 2020 trip are already in the works.

Distinguished Alumnae

“For twenty years, Trinity has recognized distinguished alumnae in the areas of service and leadership. We chose the month of March to celebrate these women as it is Women’s History Month. The recipients have been nominated by their classmates who want the successes of these women known to all. All three of these women could be recognized for both service and leadership as you will soon hear. They are each remarkable in their own right, and we are so very proud of them. I thank them for coming back to their alma mater to tell their story and to teach all of us,” states Marigayle Watts Harrington ‘78, Director of Alumnae.

M

ary Gladys (M.G.) Turner Enderle ‘53 is the proud recipient of the Alumnae Service Award.

She grew up in Oak Park, and to say she had a profound experience during her four years at Trinity would be an understatement. She said that despite a time in history when women had fewer options, the school environment at Trinity made her feel that she was capable of greatness. M.G. was treated as smart and adept which stood in stark contrast to a world where very few women were receiving a higher education. Upon graduating from Trinity in 1953, M.G. attended Saint Mary’s College and absolutely loved the experience. M.G. worked as a broker’s assistant for Merrill Lynch. She loved the fast-paced environment, and she felt proud to be one of the few women working in an office of over 75 men.

She left when she became pregnant, because she had no other choice, and went on to spend 18 wonderful years raising her four children, including one daughter who attended Trinity. M.G. was fiercely involved in her community

like such a place? Who are the ones that welcome you, take an interest in you, assist and support you? Who are the ones that kept meticulous records and managed daily operations before computers? I can’t think of a better example of someone who has been of service to our community. M.G. Enderle dedicated so much of herself to Trinity. She is forever bonded with

with both the Trinity and Saint Mary’s Alumnae Associations, as a PTO Officer, Girl Scout Leader, School Board Member, and President of the Trinity Mothers Club. It was that role which ultimately led to her being hired in the Trinity front office where she remained for 32 incredible years.

I am reminded of M.G. as the face and voice of Trinity. It is a sentiment we hear time and time again that when people come to Trinity they feel they are home.

I am humbled and honored to share a high school with her and her classmates who are such incredible examples of our community. lorence (LuLu) Romano Daly, ‘78 RN, BSN is the 2019 recipient of the Alumnae Leadership Award. LuLu was born in Chicago and raised in a loving Catholic family, the fourth of seven children. During her years at Trinity, LuLu found that the single-gender environment further affirmed her confidence and self-esteem. She felt

For her many contributions to the field of academic medicine and teaching, she was awarded fellow distinction status in two premier national medical societies, the American College of Physicians and Society of Hospital Medicine.

In doing so, LuLu became deeply committed to service.Volunteering at Oak Park Hospital is what helped her decide that she wanted to pursue nursing. She attended Saint Mary’s College receiving her R.N., B.S.N., and began working as a pediatric oncology nurse at Loyola Hospital after graduation. After marrying her husband, she worked at Mayo Clinic in its Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. Lulu has also worked with hospice patients through the Health East System in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In addition to raising her own four children, she has extensive global health volunteer experience in Honduras, Haiti, India, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Of the 7.5 billion people on earth today, five billion lack access to safe surgical care. Surgically treatable conditions result in more deaths each year than malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/ AIDS combined. In 2003, her firsthand awareness of this disparity led her to co-found the development of a surgery

i Ade Awosika MD, FACP, FHM ‘98 is the proud recipient of the Young Alumna Award and considers her time at Trinity one of her biggest blessings.

When choosing Trinity, Bi was drawn to the IB program which was fairly new at the time. She loved the academic rigor it provided and owes so much of her success to the boundless support she received from her teachers and peers.

Upon graduation, Dr. Awosika continued her studies at Stanford University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in human biology and minor in French.

She then matriculated to the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2008.

She pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center through 2011 where she remained as one of the Chief Medical Residents for the 2011-2012 academic year. Dr. Awosika initially joined the faculty at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2012, serving as an academic hospitalist in the Department of Medicine. Her career

Trinity showed her that she could rise to new heights while providing leadership opportunities, academic rigor, and a well-rounded education that certainly informed her life and career thereafter.

1 Trinity alumnae, family, and friends hit the links at Oak Park Country Club in late August, 2018. One hundred golfers participated in this annual event. Trinity’s Board Leader Scholars had the opportunity to meet everyone. Proceeds from this event continue to allow Trinity to award scholarships to deserving students who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, character, and service as well as secure funds to assist those students with significant financial need.

Arizona Gathering

This year the Arizona gathering consisted of a weekend of activities! A social was held on Saturday night, and the next day a group went to see the Chicago Cubs play the Chicago White Sox in a pre-season game at Sloan Park in Mesa. On Monday afternoon a group gathered at the University Club of Phoenix for a luncheon. We are eager for this “weekend away” to become an annual event.

Global Community Florida Gathering On a beautiful February afternoon over fifty-five alumnae and friends gathered at the annual Naples Gathering. Beth Ford Hawkins ’60 was an amazing hostess. “Fine Arts at Trinity High School helped shape my career. I loved talking about art and design– the social ramifications, cultural contexts, and associated emotions.

This spark, combined with a love for history, led me to study art history in college and graduate school. As a curator, understanding the creative process is incredibly important, and my classes at Trinity– drawing, painting, ceramics–were foundational for my creative path.”

Trinity offers 31 fine and performing a This year, Trinity had six senior artists (the maximum allowed per school) who won college scholarships at the 6th annual Illinois High School Art Exhibition in February.

The students won over $400,000 for their artwork in the following categories: Design, Drawing, Mixed Media, Sculpture and Time Arts.

“I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with the fine arts during my time at Trinity. During my time, I was active in theatre, choir, IB Art, creative writing, and even (for a brief and hilarious period) dance.

There wasn’t a day at Trinity where I wasn’t somehow pushing myself to achieve my greatest creative potential, and I was guided every step of the way by teachers who valued me as both an artist and a student. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Mrs. Absher, my Trinity Drama teacher and director, who taught during, my four years there. It is because of Mrs. Absher that I teach students today, and I frequently find myself sharing stories of my high school theatrical escapades with my teenage students, hoping to impart in them the vital importance of the creative growth

The Trinity High School Theatre Department produces two Mainstage production year we produced The Little Mermaid as our musical, showcasing a cast and crew written by a Chicago woman playwright who collaborated with the cast and crew.

50th Reunion The Class of 1968 had a great time celebrating their 50th reunion.

This weekend celebration began at the Carleton Hotel of Oak Park with a fun and lively cocktail party at which the “golden girls” were able to reunite and reminisce. The mass on Saturday was beautiful. The luncheon which followed at Oak Park Country Club was thoroughly enjoyed. The group continued their festivities at an after party in Forest Park. A special thanks to the reunion committee and especially Regina O’Connell Carlson who worked tirelessly planning this memorable weekend!

What’s News With You? Special congratulations go out to the Classes of 1953 and 1958, who celebrated their 60th and 65th reunions last fall. More than thirty alumnae sent in their news for this column, revealing an impressive variety (and level!) of activities and interests.

Ladies, you have set the bar high for those of us who are approaching those reunions in the all too immediate future! As the media keeps telling us, this is the era of the older woman. Trinity salutes you!

Judy Colohan Blatherwick ‘60

1940s This beautiful group of ladies from the Class of 1947 look forward to this annual Christmas luncheon! Wow, do they look fabulous!

Patricia Batka Rakowski ’53 retired 20 years ago from the city of Waukesha, WI, where she was secretary to the mayor. Now she lives in Port Washington, WI, and says volunteering is a big part of her life. “My favorite is singing with our Senior Choir, bringing music to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.”

Patricia has three children, seven grandchildren and one greatgranddaughter.

Kathryn Welch Konrad ’53 lives in Lake Carroll, IL and has 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Barbara Ann Brennan Kellner ’53 was a teacher at Marian Central Catholic High School and later taught fifth and sixth grade at St. Mary’s Catholic School, both in Woodstock, IL. Barbara has also done marketing for a developer and was general manager of a country club in Crystal Lake, IL, for three years. Barbara has 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and lives in Naperville, IL. Sister Miriam (Patricia) Gliatto, O.P. ’54 is now permanently settled at the Monastery of the Infant Jesus in Lufkin, TX. Her Dominican road lead her from LaCrosse, WI through Nairobi, Kenya and western Canada. Sister is currently in charge of the Infant Jesus Guild department, where she answers mail and sends out prayer cards.

1950s Patricia Egan Daly ’53 is very excited to welcome her first greatgrandchild, a little girl named Hailey Nicole. Patricia lives in Lake Geneva, WI. Mary O’Donnell ’53 lives in Lake Forest, IL, and is active in her parish, St. Patrick, where she serves as a Eucharistic minister and also visits the sick. “I play a great deal of duplicate bridge,” she writes, “and have reached beyond the Bronze Master level.”

Mary also mentored for years at St. Malachy School.

A 17 hour flight to South Africa ended long distance travel for Lois Steenhausen Poehlmann ’53 and husband Joe. “Now we just vacation to warm weather USA destinations in winter.” Lois volunteers at their retirement home, Friendship Village, as part of a reading theater to entertain and amuse health care residents.

Patricia Egan Faley ’53 is retired and lives in Naperville IL. She has six children, eight grandchildren (ages one to thirty years) and two great-grandchildren.

Barrie Redfearn Szemler ’53 now lives in Philadelphia, PA. She had lived in Italy for five years and had her own radio program.

Rosie Granata Beshk ’56 and Mary Lu Walsh Hugar ’56 spent two weeks in Egypt recently in celebration of a big birthday. “We climbed inside of the Great Pyramid, visited King Tut’s tomb after riding above the Valley of the Kings in a hot air balloon and of course rode camels in the Sahara. Judy McLean ’58 lives the good life: six months a year in Walnut Creek, CA and the other six months in Venice, FL. Lucky lady!

“I am a tour guide in Chicago,” writes Susan Maier Schemmel ’58 from Glen Ellyn, IL, “doing architectural tours, and tours that highlight the theater.” Susan is a also a Eucharistic minister in her parish and brings Communion to an assisted living facility in Glen Ellyn. She has ten grandchildren and says a great family keeps her young and happy!

Carol Creadon ’58 is a real estate broker and lives in Riverside, IL. She loves travel, golf, bridge and her friends as well as her children and grandchildren. Carol did a phenomenal job planning her class reunion. The attendance was remarkable due to her hard work.

Elaine Ann Taylor, O.P. ’58 is retired from teaching and lives in St. Petersburg, FL. This past summer she sang “Quando m’en vo” from Puccin’s “La Boheme” at the gala of the Dominican Institute for the Arts. In 2007, she received a star award from the St. Petersburg “Grapevine” for the best supporting actress in a drama for her role of Gramma in “Lost in Yonkers.’ You go, girl!

Roberta Zellick Burns ’58 lives in Dallas, TX, where her family’s tradition of Sunday dinner for the whole family – 21 to 27 people every Sunday! Bobbie has twelve grandchildren ages four to thirty years old. She remembers her freshman year at Trinity, when she broke her leg and got to use the elevator!

Donna McKillip Parker ’58 lives in Gold Canyon, AZ and has four children and nine grandchildren.

Charlotte Meyer ’58 missed this year’s reunion because she was already committed to a river cruise in France with her sister.

She is a Professor Emerita at Edgewood College and lives in Madison, WI. Sharon Sweeney Huck ’58 is a retired English teacher from Glenbard District 87 and lives in Wheaton, IL. Sharon and husband Jim, who was also her prom date, have been married 57 years and have three sons and seven grandchildren. Sharon has traveled extensively: Mexico, Canada, Asia, Africa, South America, New Zealand, Australia and Europe.

Another avid traveler is Rosemary Doyle Lootens ’58, who started her own travel agency! Rosemary still loves to travel and plays bridge all the time. She and her husband, who’ve been married for 56 years, live in Dallas, TX, and have three children and seven grandchildren. Rosemary also volunteers at her church, St Patrick.

Barbara Glosup Hackleman ’58 taught physical education at Oak Park and River Forest High School for 32 years, retiring as the Physical Education department head. Now living in Naples, FL, she enjoys scuba diving, sailing, piloting a hot air balloon and traveling the world.

Also enjoying travel in retirement is Jeanne Tourtelot Welsh ’58, who has been to Sicily, India, Iceland and France in the past five years. “More to come, I hope.” Jeanne lives in Centennial, CO. Paulette Esposito Cary ’58 is co-founder of the Free Reader Ensemble, which celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2018. She loves to travel and acts in films and commercials. Paulette lives in Oak Park, IL. Mary Jane (Pinky) Downes ’58 lives in Plainfield, IL. She is an interior design consultant and has two grown children.

Patricia Hale Nolan ’58 and her husband celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in June. They have traveled extensively over the years, visiting approximately 19 countries. They live in Tucson, AZ, and have three daughters and eight grandchildren.

Mary Willey Howard ’58 lives in Torrance, CA, and is the proud grandmother of four girls and great-grandmother of three.

“My life took a whole new direction, back in 1985,’ writes Suzanne Williams ’58 from Scottsdale, AZ. “I had an intensive spiritual experience. Soon I was called to India by an enlightened spiritual teacher…I have come to live in pure peace, divine love and inner joy.” Now Suzanne spends 3 to 4 months there every year, in a cottage she bought in 1990. “My life goals have changed completely…to grow from human to divine and live every moment in pure love and oneness of all.”

Patricia Fagan DeFrank ’58 and her husband are a deacon couple in their parish in Lake Forest, IL. Patricia is a lector and Eucharistic minister. She also visits the sick and homebound and brings Communion to the hospital. The DeFranks live in Lincolnshire, IL. Martha Grant Campbell ’58 graduated from Mundelein College in 1962 and was married in 1965. She has three children. Martha is a member of the Infant Jesus and Mary and Martha Guilds and a volunteer CCD teacher.

Virginia Vaughn Hayes ’63 and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December…congratulations! They have eleven grandchildren, ranging in age from 19 years to 6 months old. They live in Burr Ridge, IL, where Virginia enjoys working at Clovers Garden Center every spring and summer.

Jeanine Carrier Hayden ’63 was honored in October, 2017,

by Duquesne University, her alma mater, by inducting her into the Century Club of Distinguished Duquesne Alumni. She was recognized for her many years of work with military and intelligence community families, establishing family support programs at CIA and NSA and serving on the board of the National Military Family Association.

Donna Hintze Ryan ’63 is retired after 30 years in healthcare administration. Now that her husband Larry is also retiring, she is looking forward to more free time to spend with their five grandchildren. Donna continues to enjoy volunteering as a U of I master gardener in DuPage Country. She lives in Burr Ridge, IL. Mary Jo Bergl Jacobs ’63 is a retired school principal and a former chemistry teacher at Trinity as well as Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, IL. She is currently assistant to the director at the Oblate Fathers Ecological Learning Center. Mary Jo lives in Godfrey, IL, and has six children and twelve grandchildren.

“I retired in 2016 and spend my time doing yoga, stand-up paddleboard and pet sitting,” writes Barbara Springer ’68 from Austin, Texas. Sounds like fun!

Debbie Sweeny Brooks ’71 exclaims “While Harry & Meghan’s Royal Wedding took place across the pond this past May, the Brooks & Lucca families celebrated the ‘Royal Wedding’ of our children (Kevin Brooks & Katie Lucca) on May 19, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elmhurst, IL. I’m a proud graduate of Trinity High School (class of ‘71) and Kevin is my son. I’m happy to share that Kevin & Katie’s wedding was well represented by Trinity Alumnae! We had a wonderful time. What’s News With You? Ann Celeste Barker Paterson ’73 and husband Jim are a deacon couple in Odessa, FL. They have been married for 41 years and have four granddaughters and one grandson. The Patersons have done a lot traveling in the last five years, most recently to New Orleans for the 50th anniversary of the Permanent Diaconate.

Shirley Jackson Wells ’73 is a registered nurse case manager for United Healthcare. She also served for six years in the U.S. Air Force. Shirley has two sons and lives in Bolingbrook, IL Colleen Collins Biggio ’73 recently retired from a teaching career that included Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst and St. Domitilla in Hillside. “My husband Tom and I sold our family home after 25 years to move to a condo. We are so looking forward to this new chapter.” They have four grandchildren.

Judy Moloni Martin ’73 is president of The Perfect Thing, an upscale consignment boutique in Wheaton, IL. Judy is also past president of the International Society of Appraisers and was named Best Appraiser by Chicago Magazine. She lives in Arlington Heights, IL. Susan Taylor Topping ’73 is retired and living in Crossville, TN. JoAnn DiDomenico Fiala ’73 lives in Melrose Park, IL, and is busy establishing and growing her interior design business, Jo Fiala Inc. Dr. Eveann Reno Lovero ’73 is retired after 30 years of service, most recently as professor of Business Administration at Lewis University. She has two granddaughters, ages 3 and 6 months.

Renee Poore-Moravek ’78 and her husband are “empty nesters traveling – check off national parks and Europe from the bucket list.” Their son Spencer lives in Manhattan doing stand-up and teaching. Daughter Astin lives in Gig Harbor, WA, where she is a kickboxing instructor and a teacher.

1980s Kathryn Francis Hanfland ’83 lives in LaGrange, IL, where she enjoys volunteering with a number of organizations, traveling, and spending time with her four children.

Joanne Morris Androwich ’84 writes, “I am hoping to share this photo of our 14 high school girlfriends with the Link! We have such a united group that gets together at least twice a year. In the summer, we have a pool party with all 14 of our families which includes 49 children! Then we do a Christmas party for the girls in January. That is what this photo is from.”

Anita Perivolidis Trainor ’78 is an administrative assistant at Dominican University and lives in south Oak Park, IL. Her daughter, Bridget, and son-in-law, Michael, welcomed a baby girl, Sophia Marie, on March 14, 2018.

What’s News With You? Joanne continues, “These girls have been my “sisters”, some since St. Vincent’s, for over 40 years! I credit my mother, Bette Madigan Morris ‘43, for having me follow in her footsteps to Trinity. These girls and our relationships have been with me through the very worst and best of times. Tina Fioccola-Campanella ’88 has been a registered nurse at Lutheran General Hospital for 21 years. She and her husband have been married for 22 years and have three children. They live in Arlington Heights, IL. Susan Woerter-Mersenski ’88 is a special education teacher at Ideal School, a Milwaukee Public School. She is married with four children and lives in Muskego, WI.

Kelly Nipp ’03 lives in Durham, NC, where she is a program manager for Leadership Forum, IN. Kelly and her husband, Steven McAllister, were married on November 18, 2017, and bought a house last April.

Jessica Stranski Chmura ’03 is a special education teacher at River Grove School. “I absolutely love my job as a SPED teacher,” she writes from Elmhurst, IL. Jessica is married to her high school sweetheart and has three children – six-year-old twins and a four-year-old.

Faith, Knowledge, Truth 1990s Griselda Tapia-Gonc ’93 is in her fifth year as an assistant principal in School District 59. “I love working with children!” she writes from Arlington Heights, IL. Griselda and her husband have two boys, ages nine and twelve.

Freya Hatchett ’94 is working for Evolent Health and lives in Chicago, IL.

Cortney Donahugh McGuire ’98 lives in Boulder, CO, “raising two awesome kids and continuing to perform, dance, teach and explore the field of improvisation.”

Marisa Conte ’06 is currently teaching 6th grade at Indian Creek Middle School in Waterman, IL. I told you I run into Trinity women everywhere! A couple of weeks ago my sister and I brought our very sick cat to Medvet Emergency Medical Center in Chicago. I happened to be wearing my Trinity sweatshirt and that’s how I met Megan McDermott ’07, who is a team leader in the ER there. Megan was very kind in a very sad situation.

Elizabeth Nelson-Sifuentes ’08 has gone back to school to pursue a Master’s Degree in sports fitness and recreational leadership at DePaul University. Elizabeth and her husband bought a house in Chicago last March.

Kristin Trusco ‘00 shared this: “a group of Trinity alumnae got together to celebrate Maggie Machala ‘00 and her husband, Dan Battista, at their baby shower. It was especially fun to see Mrs. Scott, (Maggie and Dan’s neighbor) at the shower!”

Francesca Chimera ’11 writes” After graduating Trinity I not only went on to become a certified pastry chef/cake artist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, but I also am in a band called Related Rhapsody that is made up of just my brother and I! The reason for my telling you this is because it all started when I found my love for music by having the courage to contribute to the Trinity Variety Show my junior and senior year. I would have never thought today looking back on that moment that I would be singing in front of thousands of people and booking shows! I even went on during my years in culinary school at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island to sing for Chef Emeril Lagasse in a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island, as well as sing all the National Anthems at our school’s sporting events and bigger venues on the East Coast.

We have released a five song EP on iTunes, a Christmas album, and we just released our new single “Ethereal Bliss” which can also we found on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Pandora, and all other major music streaming platforms! My brother and I play shows regularly every month at bars, playing for three to four hours at a time each show, as well as being booked for private parties such as weddings and anniversaries. We have opened twice for a well-known Chicagoland band, 7th Heaven, and this past Labor Day weekend we were given the opportunity to play for 3,000 people at Frankfort Fest and will now be booked for more

upcoming festivals as an outcome of this performance.” We are so proud of you, Francesca!
