Editor’s letter for catalogue SS17 We have decided to publish this year’s spring catalogue as a newspaper, because we would like to share more of our thoughts behind our designs and brand with you – and we hope in this way you will also be able to feel our inspiration and motivation. Even though we do not have a unilateral way of describing this, we have tried, and we hope you will enjoy reading.

door to the indoor life and launched indoor furniture including Cocoon hang chair in leather and our Hang desk in wood – products that have enabled us to explore and play with material compositions. For the Cocoon hang Chair, we have combined untreated leather with aluminum and for Hang Desk the combination is rope and birch veneer. It has been a very exciting journey and learning working with these materials.

First and foremost, we love good craftsmanship! We develop most of our designs and we produce the first batches of prototypes ourselves before handing over to production. Our focus on craftsmanship provides us with a more analog approach to materials and design, as we work hands-on in the process. We are convinced that this approach leaves room for contemplation and space for involving senses throughout the entire development process - from rough sketch to the final product.

On the following pages, we will present all our designs in different environments - indoor as well as outdoor. We want to show the flexibility and the many possibilities in our designs. Additionally, the locations play an important role in our catalogue. They are deliberately chosen to tell the story of our inspiration sources, which are mainly a combination of city life, beach life, the sea and the nature.

In line with the more analogue approach to design, we also have a natural interest and focus on materials. Given that our designs are for both indoor and outdoor, we also need to have a thorough knowledge of the material characteristics. This knowledge ensures long durability for all our designs and products – a factor we put a great deal of focus on. For us, outdoor furniture HAS to be able to stay outside even when it rains. This of course requires a lot from the material which is why we always use materials technologically developed for outdoor use.

TRIMM Copenhagen is – as the name indicates - situated in Copenhagen.

More precisely, we are located in Nordhavn, which is an old industrial harbor in northern Copenhagen. We are very fond of this area – an area where we can benefit from the fresh air from the sea and simultaneously be close to the urban life. As an extra advantage, we are surrounded by both old and new architecture. Arriving at the TRIMM office in Nordhavn is a daily source to inspiration.

However, we also want our designs to be inviting and comfortable – people should feel attracted towards our furniture and want to relax in them.

Basically, we aim for our outdoor furniture to suit equally well indoor.

This spring’s news is hence a module sofa (Brick Sofa), which in its expression, can be used indoor just as well as outdoor.

In addition to the physical environment, we are of course also inspired by the contemporary life we live. We are very much aware of the fact that we live a busy life where it can be difficult to find time and space for relaxation and contemplation. With our designs, we wish to contribute to creating space for relaxation – whether it is in social gatherings or for individual contemplation.

In our opinion, the border between indoor and outdoor should be minimized.

MODULAR BRICK SOFA Our new Brick Sofa is a modular sofa consisting of a powder coated aluminum structure. The seating is outdoor foam with a fabric cover using In&Out Sunbrella.

Each module can be easily fixed together creating the size of sofa you desire - you can also use a single module apart for a nice lounge chair. The Brick sofa is designed for outdoor use and it withstands all weather types - it can be left outside 365 days a year!

HALF MOON Half Moon is created from a need for retreat and contemplation and with its voluminous and yet simple form it invites to relaxation. The sunbed is made as a beanbag, which also has a soothing and insulating effect.

THE COCOON HANG CHAIR Cocoon Chair consists of an aluminum frame creating a light and beautiful look. The seating is made of full grain leather straps hand-woven on the

aluminum frame and attached with metal rivets. Cocoon is mounted in the ceiling by the rope attached – which also leads the thoughts to the maritime roots of TRIMM Copenhagen. Cocoon is available in natural grain leather.

ROCKET DAYBED and TINY MOON Rocket daybed has various possibilities, here it is used as an outdoor sunbed.

The tiny moon is used as a small table with our new terrazzo tray on top.

LAUNDRY BASKET and VERTICAL SOFT POTS Our laundry basket has a simple shape made of hard coated sail cloth, which is a strong material and yet very light weighted. The handles in rope make it easy to carry around. The vertical soft pots hanging in the window is a simple storage system designed for small places. The system consists of 3 soft fabric bags attached on rope with aluminum hooks.

DOUBLE HAMMOCK The hammock has an integrated molded cushion and oak veneer hanger at each end, which gives the hammock a beautiful silhouette.

The hammock can easily accommodate two people because of its width.

Our new Cocoon hang chair for outdoor, is a perfect chair for a break. A break for reflection and relaxation. You feel embraced by the walls of the cocoon and still you have a free view to the sky as if you were flying.

EVERYBODY NEEDS A BREAK Life is busy. The world is changing. Time is running. Everything turns faster.

-It’s a good thing.

But once in a while we need to slow down and relax. We need to sit and contemplate life, take a breather and let life settle in. In TRIMM Copenhagen we develop, design and produce furniture and interior for the purpose of giving humanity a chance to take a break in a relaxing and green setting - in and outdoors.

On left page, you see our version of a real beanbag Felix lounger and cushion. With its stylish and simple shape, it suits the living room as well as the terrace or garden. The Felix lounger can stand alone, but the accompanying cushion transforms the chair into a sun lounger.

VERTICAL DEVIDERS AND STORAGE Vertical rope rack and soft pots are both designed for small hallways and wardrobes. The idea is to use space vertically. The brand’s maritime background is seen here in the choice of materials by choosing rope and sailcloth. The idea was to create a design based on a predetermined material from the maritime world and at the same time meet our demands for simplicity and space savings.

The vertical flowerpot is designed with the purpose of bringing a green environment indoors, and therefore the fabric pots are made waterproof. However, the pots can of course be used for other purposes.

ACCESSORIES FOR OUTDOOR One of our news this spring is a big Terrazzo Tray and it comes in 3 colors. Its heavy weight makes it stable when used on the Tiny Moon as a table. This year we have also decided to make a huge range of Cushions – 12 different colors in both big and small versions to suit the colors of the season 2017.

FOLD IT UP, WHEN NOT IN USE. The idea behind the design is to create a combined desk and shelf, which can be easily folded up by pulling the rope ends and fix them in a loop lock. It is the simplicity and material combination by using rope and wood together that is the main thoughts in the design.

SATELLITE CHAIR - AN ERGONOMIC CHOICE. The whole satellite family is designed and constructed from the same basic shape.

There are 4 versions covering different needs. One for lounge areas, one for dining tables, one for children tables and one for work tables. The medium and large satellites are both standing support chairs, with ergonomic seating comfort, which makes them a good choice for your work space.

FUNCTION AND FLEXIBILITY On left page, our Satellite 78 is displayed as a bar stool in combination with a kitchen bar table. Satellite 78 fits table heights between 89-91 cm. This stool is a standing support chair, that both strengthens and trains your inner muscles around the spine while you just sit on it. Satellite 78 is a unique saddle chair for people who want to prevent back problems.

COME LOUNGE WITH US!!

With TRIMM Copenhagen lounge collection you can easily and rapidly make a cozy lounge area. We have different variations of lounge furniture that can be displayed and combined in different ways meeting the needs in a given situation. The furniture is easy to move around due to its light weight and attached handles. Most of the furniture has a PVC bottom providing extra strength. We keep 4 standard colors available in stock they match each other and can be mixed and matched across as seen in the above image.

BRICK SOFA MODULES This year we have expanded our lounge collection with a new modular sofa called Brick sofa, a new member of the lounge collection. The idea is that you mix and match the models as you like. The sofa is made of one module that can be used with or without a backrest. Above different combination possibilities with just one module are shown. For the Brick sofa, we have chosen another fabric quality from Sunbrella called In&Out. This quality is more stretchable and perfect for covering foam. CONTRACT MARKET We also offer our entire furniture collection including Brick sofa modules for the contract market. For the contract market, a special fabric can be selected in order to meet special requirements for safety levels and usability.

Material description Sunbrella Plus® fabric as well as EPS beads are the main raw materials of TRIMM Copenhagen furniture. Sunbrella Plus® fabric is manufactured in France and is originally developed for boat covers – hence it has a very high strength and color resistance. Our EPS beads have been carefully selected, after several years of research, by means of the size of the beads.

We always use the smallest size of beads containing a small amount of air per bead. In this way, the beads are not easily compressed and the furniture do not need refilling very often.

All our materials are selected for their high quality and long durability.
