CREDENTIAL PICKUP Credentials will not be mailed. Media representatives may claim credentials at the Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center media center beginning at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18. A photo ID is necessary (driver’s license) for pickup. Individuals may claim all credentials issued to his/her media organization.

Lost or misplaced credentials and/or parking passes will not be replaced. All media credentials remain the property of the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg and must be surrendered upon request.

MEDIA RECEPTION The Bowl Media Reception will be on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sirata Beach Resort’s Coconut Palm Pavilion. The event is open to all credentialed media. Please R.S.V.P. during the online credential application process.

Media Information GAMEDAY STADIUM INFORMATION Media Parking: Lot 2 Media Entrance / Credential Will Call: Gate 4 Press Box: Press Level 2 Press Box Wi-Fi: The login and password to access Wi-Fi is provided on Press Box signage and on each seating placard.

GAME OFFICIALS The NCAA has assigned Officials from the Sun Belt Conference to the 2012 Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl St. Petersburg.

MEDIA WILL CALL Credentials not claimed during the week at the media headquarters will be transferred to Tropicana Field after the Media Center at the Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center closes at 2:00 p.m. on game day/December 21. Media Will Call is located at Gate 4 and opens at 4:30 p.m.

PRESS BOX The Tropicana Field press box opens at 4:30 p.m., three hours before kickoff. The PRESS BOX is located on the 2nd Level. Radio broadcast booths are located on the 3rd Level. The media entrance is at Gate 4.

Upon entering the building, bags will be inspected and tagged accordingly. Once inside the press box, please consult the seating chart for your seat location.

PHOTO WORK AREA The Tropicana Field Photo Work Area is located in the first base dugout and camera well. A field-level work area for computer editing will be setup with electric. Upon entering the area, please check-in with the Bowl PR Staff representative who will show you to your pre-reserved workspace. Table workspace on field level is limited, if requests exceed space, additional work areas will be made available in the press box.

POST-GAME FIELD ACCESS Media are permitted access to the playing field in the closing minutes of the game. Elevators begin departing the Main Press Box at the 5:00 minute mark of the fourth quarter and will run to Field Level through the end of the game. The elevator is dedicated to media use at that time, so there is no hurry to leave the Main Press Box. POST-GAME INTERVIEWS Both team locker rooms are closed. However, the head coach, team MVP and selected players will be made available to the media following the game in a formal news conference and for one-on-one interviews. After the customary 10-minute “cooling off” period, the non-winning coach and selected players will be escorted to the interview room. Ten minutes later, the winning coach and selected players will be escorted to the interview area. Only accredited media with proper credentials will be admitted. A sports information representative from each team along with Bowl PR staff will be available to assist the media.

At 5:00 p.m. the teams will gather at the Rum Runners Pool where the first round of bragging rights are up for grabs with multiple head-to-head competitions including the popular and hotly contested belly flop contest.

The 2010 game between the Louisville Cardinals from the BIG EAST and Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles from Conference USA was a thriller to the end and captured the highest television ratings (2.6) in the short history of the bowl, up more than 20 percent from the previous year. The game featured numerous highlights including a one-handed touchdown grab by USM QB Austin Davis on a trick play, a 62-yard touchdown run by USM’s Desmond Johnson and a 96-yard kickoff return by Louisville’s Jeremy Wright, plus many bone-jarring hard hits. The Cardinals prevailed 31-28 on a fourth quarter field goal by Chris Philpott, capping a successful turnaround season under first-year head coach Charlie Strong.

The inaugural game featured USF from the BIG EAST and Memphis from Conference USA. USF QB Matt Grothe, who earned the game’s Most Outstanding Player award, threw for three touchdowns and rushed for 83 yards on 15 carries to lead USF to a 41-14 win. USF scored on four of its first five possessions to build a 24-14 halftime lead on its way to scoring more than 40 points for the fourth time in 2008. The Tigers entered the contest averaging more than 200 yards via their ground game, but the Bulls had the nation’s ninth-best rushing defense and it showed. USF held Memphis to only 66 yards on 30 carries, and Tiger running back Curtis Steele, a 1,000-yard rusher, gained most of those with 48 yards on 12 rushes.

Rutgers and UCF lined up against each other for the first-time ever in the second edition of the Bowl. The Scarlet Knights tied their season-best for points scored with a 45-24 win over UCF. Rutgers’ Mohamed Sanu, the game's Most Outstanding Player, accounted for three of the team’s five touchdowns. Sanu caught four passes for 97 yards and a touchdown and rushed 14 times for 47 yards and two touchdowns. The Scarlett Knights three other touchdowns came on a 65-yard pass reception by Tim Brown, an interception return by Billy Anderson and kickoff return by Damaso Munoz on an attempted onside kick by UCF. Rutgers defense held UCF’s offense in check recording a bowl record six sacks.

The fourth installment of the game pitted the Marshall Thundering Herd of Conference USA against the FIU Panthers of the Sun Belt Conference. Two key plays, one by special teams and another by the defense, late in the fourth quarter propelled Marshall to a 20-10 win. With the score tied at 10-10, Marshall's Zach Dunston blocked a punt that led to a 39-yard field goal by Tyler Warner with 5:16 remaining in the game. On the ensuing drive, Marshall's Omar Brown forced a fumble on FIU star WR T.Y. Hilton on what would've been a successful 3rd down conversion that would've put the Panthers near midfield with 4:24 on the clock. Marshall's offense ran the clock down to :38 seconds left when it had a 4th and 5. Marshall took a timeout and came out with a surprise pass by QB Rakeem Cato to WR Aaron Dobson that connected for a 35-yard TD. The win by Marshall was the first by a Conference USA team at the Bowl. Dobson earned the Marshall MVP game honors with touchdown receptions of 35 and 31 yards. Hilton, who scored FIU's only touchdown, was voted as the Panthers game MVP.
