ACCESSIBILITY RAMP FOR HOME ADAPTATION

ACCESSIBILITY RAMP FOR HOME ADAPTATION
Being able to move freely in and around your home should be a given – but for many, stairs and level differences are real obstacles. Trident’s Home Access Ramp is one of the safest home adaptation solutions on the market, making your home more accessible for everyone, regardless of mobility.
We work to ensure more people can live life on their own terms – to remain in their homes, participate in society, and enjoy everyday freedom. With a flexible modular system and smart features, the ramp can be tailored to individual needs and the unique conditions of each home. It’s one of the few ramp systems that meets the requirements of the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) for home adaptations, offering a safe and comfortable path all the way to the front door.
Whether you use a wheelchair, a walker, or simply need extra support when moving around, Trident’s Home Access Ramp is designed to make everyday life safer, easier, and more independent. Through our commitment to improving physical accessibility, we make a real difference – this is where our history, our expertise, and our credibility lie.
The Home Access ramp for home adaptation is one of the most stable on the market – quiet to walk on and built to withstand tough conditions.
The modular system complies with the new Eurocodes and features a robust steel construction that makes the ramp up to three times more stable than comparable aluminum models. This makes a real difference for those with balance issues or reduced muscle strength.
For optimal stability, all components – the frame, walking surface, and handrails – should be made of steel. Expanded metal walkways provide outstanding slip resistance, even during winter, ensuring safe and reliable access all year round.
Trident’s wide range of flexible modules gives you great freedom when designing your ramp. In most cases, a solution can be tailored using our standard modules, and if needed, we can produce a custom solution for you at our factory in Ängelholm.
Thanks to Trident’s in-house control of manufacturing and inventory, we can often deliver standard modules within just a few days.
Our modules are designed to last – and to be reused time and time again without compromising on quality.
By reusing instead of buying new, you save both resources and money while reducing your environmental impact. It’s a sustainable choice that benefits both your budget and the planet – today and in the future.
We’ve put a great deal of effort into developing a modular ramp that combines optimal safety and user-friendliness with efficient planning, ordering, inventory management, and installation. All Home Access ramp components can be easily dismantled and reused.
1 – Flexible Stairs
Trident’s stairs are built from modules. For example, a four-step stair can be turned into two two-step stairs, or you can add a step to create a five-step stair. It’s maximum flexibility.
2 – Guardrails for platform
The guardrails is easily mounted between the coupling sleeves.
3 – Spacious entry platform
Let the ramp extend all the way to the door. Finish with an entry platform large enough to make it easy to open and close the door, even when the user has a wheelchair or a walker.
4 – Guardrails för ramp
The slip-resistant walkways are delivered with integrated guardrails.
5 – Telescopic support legs
You can easily adjust the height of the landing and ramp with adjustable support legs. This is a flexible solution when it comes to ordering, storing, assembling and reusing the modules.
6 – Ergonomic handrail
Trident’s patented Ergosoft handrail is round and square at the same time to fit your hand as well as possible.
7 – Slip-resistant walkways
Expanded metal (mesh) provides a quiet, safe, stable and highly slip-resistant surface to walk on. The material also lets rainfall pass through it.
The nuts for pole attachments are already in place at the point of delivery. It saves time and makes assembly simpler.
Clear visual markers specifically designed to aid orientation for individuals with visual impairments.
The contrast markings are durable and easy to mount on selected surfaces to enhance visibility. Black end pieces clearly indicate the start and end of a ramp or staircase –a small detail that makes a big difference for everyday safety.
Trident’s standard ramps for home adaptation come in three different lengths and two widths. By combining different lengths, the ramp can easily be built to the desired total length, tailored to individual needs and site conditions. The ramp features integrated guardrails.
The Home Access ramp platforms come in three standard sizes (1.0 x 1.0 m, 1.5 x 1.0 m, and 1.5 x 1.5 m) and work equally well as entry, resting, or stair platforms. Platforms can be joined together to create larger units. The range also includes wedge platforms with 15- or 20-degree angles. The guardrails is easily mounted between the coupling sleeves.

Platform: 1,0 x 1,0 m 1,5 x 1,0 m 1,5 x 1,5 m
We also offer entry platforms in sizes 1.5 x 1.5 m and 2.0 x 1.5 m, featuring a unique design that allows the platform to be fitted an existing staircase. This means the staircase doesn’t need to be removed for the new ramp and platform to connect directly to the door threshold.
For home adaptations, there are two types of railings to choose from: a standard railing (Railing 2) and a child-safe railing (Railing 4). The standard height is 900 mm. The baluster modules have vertical openings that are 100 mm wide, meeting current safety requirements for children. For smaller height differences, the ramp can be built without a railing or with a railing on only one side, depending on needs and design.
Ergonomic handrails provide the best grip
All of Trident’s railings have specially produced ergonomic handrails, Ergosoft, for the best and most comfortable grip. The handrails are always installed without interruption.
Railing 2
Our most common railing that is used for homes and in public environments.
Railing 4
A child-safe railing suitable when young children will be using the ramp.
According to the regulations of the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket), all home adaptation ramps must be equipped with a contrast kit. These are clear visual markers specifically designed to aid orientation for individuals with visual impairments.
The contrast markings are durable and easy to mount on selected surfaces to enhance visibility. Black end pieces clearly indicate the start and end of a ramp or staircase – a small detail that makes a big difference for everyday safety.
Expanded metal provides superior slip resistance in outdoor environments. The surface offers excellent grip even when wet or icy, and ice breaks off easily when stepped on.
In our EU ramps, we use hot-dip galvanized expanded metal – a durable, environmentally friendly, and virtually maintenance-free material. The open structure allows precipitation to pass through and provides high friction.
The Home Access ramp is designed according to the requirements of the Eurocodes. This means the products are engineered to withstand their intended use, whether at private residences, offices, schools, restaurants, or other public buildings. All our products meet the requirements for home adaptation, Category A.
The construction of the Home Access ramp complies with the Swedish Building Regulations (BBR). Pre-made contrast markings, which meet the BBR requirement of at least 0.40 lightness contrast according to the NCS system, can be mounted on the Home Access ramp.
Kontrastmarkering
Trident AB’s operations are quality certified according to ISO 9001 and environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. Stairs and modular entrances meet the TIL2 requirements, meaning they have been inspected and verified by a TIL2-certified expert based on standards and usability for individuals with reduced mobility or orientation.
The Home Access ramp is developed and manufactured at Trident’s own factory in Ängelholm.
Since Trident controls its own manufacturing and warehousing, we can often deliver standard modules within a few days.
