Girls Just Wanna Have Sun! Arlene Major I got you singing, already don’t I? All joking aside, sun care is a serious matter! UV and UB rays can do your skin good and bad.

According to the Vitamin Cloud Council, human skin can make large amounts of Vitamin D when exposed and the sun is high in the sky. Your body is designed to get what it needs by producing it when bare skin is exposed to sunlight. The important part is UVB/UVA or Ultraviolet rays. What are these unique rays? UVA are aging rays and UVB are the ones that burn. Now the think about it: you hear to get out and get some sun but never about the real depth of why. Shouldn’t your skin be protected from the sun at all costs? UV, UB and UVB/UVA rays can harm as well as help. Let me explain.

SPF is needed when you go out. Melanoma and other skin cancers can be aggravated if your skin is not protected. Sunscreen acts as a reflector so that your skin gets minimal damage. Melanin, the dark pigment produced by skin helps protect the skin against sun damage from excess sunlight. It acts as a natural sunscreen and absorbs the suns UV rays to defend against sunburn and skin cancers. Not everyone has a high amount of melanin and therefore spend more time in the sun! SPF gives you the protection you need and want if you are going to spend a long time under the big yellow ball!

Why SPF? First SPF stands for sun protection factor. The higher the SPF is measurable to how long your skin will be protected from Ultraviolet rays! So, protect yourself! Everything from your makeup to your lotion.

Spotlight Elaine Curry I am Elaine Curry, an NLP practitioner, a lifestyle and success coach. I live with my beautiful daughter Leanne and my loving supportive partner Amine. I am Maureen Pisani, a Motivational Speaker, an Author and a Hypnotherapist. Originally from the Island of Malta, I came to this glorious country for a better future. I’ve had many ups and downs and have survived and transformed those experiences from ‘disasters’ to lessons learned. I’m at a point that between those experiences, the wisdom accrued, the education I have and the care I share result in my unique ability to help others go from existing to thriving.

Originally from the Island of Malta, Maureen has been through several chapters of life. As an Author and Motivational Speaker, she utilizes her experiences to highlight how each of us has hidden strengths within us. As a Hypnotherapist, Maureen is at the Mastery level in all 4 modalities - Hypnotherapy, Therapeutic Guided Imagery, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Reiki Energy work; and teaches the first three.

In addition, she is the ONLY Hypnotherapist who has been an Director and Instructor in two Nationally Accredited Colleges. I knew I connected with clients while in session, but I wanted to reach larger audiences, and build a following. A friend mentioned to me “Maureen for people to trust they need to get to know you.” I have had quite a unique life, and as you’ll see as you read the book, I’ve experienced situations regular people can’t even imagine. The book has many aspects that will connect with a variety of audiences. Yes, it’s all true. Yes, I’ve lived it all. The reason I shared so much and became so vulnerable is because when I was going through my disasters… all I felt was ‘alone’. As a therapist that’s exactly the feeling I never

want anyone else to feel. As a therapist I go above and beyond what’s expected of me to ensure that each of my clients knows I’m there for them.

I take the reader through the experiences that formed me; have them go through the dark experiences to experience first-hand how deep my emotions were. Then there’s a turning point when I start sharing the lessons, the insights, the optimism. At the end of the book, I want each reader to acknowledge – if Maureen went through all that and she’s ok; then I can overcome too! Who is your audience?

My audience, I expect, is primarily women, probably from their 30s and older. Ladies, who have been facing the harshness of life and by this point have a couple of dings and scratches and are wondering when it’ll get better, easier. Are you planning another book? Yes, I am planning to write another book.

Technically, this is my 10th book. I have also authored 8 hypnotherapy books, and a fictional romance.

My next book is going to be the benefits of hypnotherapy. It’ll be a collection of descriptions of clients’ presenting complaints, how they presented, what we did in their session, and the results they received.

Each of the clients chosen, is going to include their own testimonial. Yes, it’s all legit and the clients have already given me permission to utilize their session publicly. They get to maintain anonymity in the book.
