"Leadership Requires Unleashing Your Visionary Power: Women As Exceptional Leaders, Historical Trailblazers, And Spiritual Catalysts"
BY: Dr. Natalie Forest
We often talk about leadership and look at "easy" examples of personalities who are always in the limelight. Historically speaking, that does not make much sense because leadership often happens from the back, as discussed in my previous article in the Los Angeles Tribune.
Now, at this point, we are also fortunate to witness the move from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius. This is a process that has been going on for a bit, and when we look at the characteristics of "Aquarius," it is usually connected to a vision that is beyond what most people can see or even consider.

Part of that usually is a bit of an upheaval, a deep-rooted change of society and its order - a revolution of sorts, if you will. This vision is crucial because we are now in the Age of Aquarius. In addition, this move from Age to Age is not just philosophical or spiritual; it is holistic.
Mother Earth also clearly indicates that "change is a-coming." The weather patterns have changed, earthquakes occur more often, volcanoes are more active than before, and the magnetic polarities are changing (please check with your science experts on this, and most certainly, Gregg Braden is one of those that you may wish to consider for a further deep dive) and all that impacts us on a holistic level.
The illnesses and challenges we face are changing, all with a focus on supporting our individual growth. We can rely on the fact that, as we move forward, life continues to happen FOR us, and our vision of what is possible may become even greater.
The question of how this all relates to leadership is simple: What characteristics, qualities, and actions do visionary leaders take, and who are some examples? Thus, as the Age of Aquarius invites us to reconsider the status quo and support us in switching from the paternalistic hierarchy back to a more feminine, inclusive energy and style, I am happy to provide some of the answers by sharing examples of how women in particular (and it would be even more precise to say feminine BEings) have demonstrated their ability to lead.

Indeed, women have long proven themselves to be exceptional visionary leaders, leaving an indelible mark on history through their transformative leadership. This article highlights why women excel in visionary leadership roles by identifying remarkable female leaders throughout history and exploring the potential connection between their leadership and spirituality. By recognizing their contributions and unique qualities, we can celebrate the profound impact of women's visionary leadership:
1. Resilience and Tenacity
Throughout history, women leaders have exhibited remarkable resilience and tenacity in the face of adversity. Figures such as Joan of Arc and Harriet Tubman fought against societal norms and oppressive systems, demonstrating unwavering determination and a clear vision for a better future. Their ability to persevere while facing challenges is often fueled by a deep spiritual connection, providing them with strength and courage.
2. Intuition and Insight
Women leaders have frequently tapped into their intuition and inner wisdom to make groundbreaking decisions. Cleopatra, known for her strategic brilliance, drew upon her intuitive faculties to navigate complex political landscapes. By trusting their instincts and accessing deeper insight, these leaders bring a unique perspective to their innovative endeavors, potentially linked to their spiritual connection.
3. Compassion and Empathy
A defining characteristic of many visionary women leaders is their profound compassion and empathy. Figures such as Mother Teresa and Aung San Suu Kyi dedicated their lives to uplifting others and advocating for justice. This compassionate leadership is often rooted in a spiritual foundation, where the belief in interconnectedness and the value of every individual drives their transformative vision.
4. Authenticity and Influence
Historical female leaders like Queen Elizabeth I and Benazir Bhutto possessed a unique authenticity that resonated with their followers. They embraced their true selves, leveraging their authentic voice and influence to shape the course of history. This authenticity may be connected to a spiritual understanding of purpose and the recognition that true leadership stems from staying true to oneself.
5. Visionary Spirituality
Many visionary women leaders throughout history have had a deep spiritual connection that influenced their leadership approach. This spirituality, ranging from religious devotion to mystical practices, provided them with a foundation of inspiration, moral grounding, and a connection to higher truths. Whether it was the spiritual teachings of Teresa of Calcutta or the mystical experiences of Hildegard of Bingen, their spiritual connection nourished their visionary leadership.
Women have long demonstrated exceptional visionary leadership, leaving an enduring legacy in various domains. By recognizing their unique qualities, resilience, intuition, compassion, authenticity, and the potential connection to spirituality, we can celebrate the transformative impact of women leaders throughout history.
As we continue to foster gender equality and inclusivity, we must recognize and empower women's visionary leadership, ensuring a more balanced and enlightened future for all. This is especially true since these examples are of high-profile women and exemplify how most feminine-energy people lead -based not on polarity but on the connection of the heart and the head, the connection with all, and an understanding that we are all One. These reminders appear especially important in times that call upon us to reconsider what we know and manifest the potential of who we are and what together we can be.
