The Benefit Of Losing Our Mind - For A Change!
BY: Joy Willett
It has been said that to make a change, you must push hard, go against all odds, and get back up when you are down. That sounds all good, but what if there was an easier way to get to where we want to go?
We have a “conscious mind” we believe we use all the time during waking hours, but do you know how much of our mind we are consciously using? It is a meager 3%-5%.
Instead, it is the “unconscious mind” or “subconscious mind” that runs the show with 95%-99% control, and its primary function is to run our physical bodies. For example, you never think about breathing, do you? That’s the unconscious mind at work. It also stores our memories and senses, as the smell of food reminds you of your grandmother’s cooking – that’s the unconscious mind bringing up those associations to you.
It also is where we keep our sense of time. This is why we can go “back in time” in our memories and remember things from the past. Did you know the unconscious mind is “recording” everything that we experience?
With the use of hypnosis, NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP), Time Line Therapy®, and other types of regression work, we can go “back in time” in our memories and remember things from the past, including things that we may have repressed.

This is also why we can get triggered suddenly by a sound, an image, or even a smell. These can all create a chain reaction of where we go at lightning speed into the memory and emotion of whatever is brought up at that moment to our awareness. Our emotions the good ones and those that are not so pleasant - are also stored in the unconscious mind, which is all fascinating when you come to think about it.
Whoever stops to wonder where these vital things were stored in our minds? surely didn’t when was younger.
So now that we are getting to understand this huge area of our lives that is truly running the “software” of our mind’s operating system, we can become eager about how to access it because the key to easily making lasting long-term CHANGE is to manage this “software” by talking directly to the unconscious mind. And if we are going to change this VIP software inside ourselves, we first need to figure out how to access it, then understand how to communicate with it. But do many folks know how to talk to that part of themselves that is running the show of everything in their lives? At most, we CAN talk to our bodies and prompt them to begin doing something at the physical level just by knowing how to talk to them properly. (Remember that part about our unconscious mind is in charge of our physical bodies?)

No, do not mean proper grammar. It is just that our unconscious mind is like a 5-year-old: It responds with direct commands, and it cannot process a negative. This is why when you tell a 5-year-old child at the edge of a street don’t run in the street, guess what happens? Yes, they will do the opposite of what you tell them.
This is why everything must be framed in the positive, so tell the 5-year-old child instead to “Stay at the curb!”
Our unconscious mind also needs clear, direct orders to respond to.
If your 5-year-old nephew needs to pick up his LEGO pieces all over the floor, do you think he will respond when you ask in a sweet soft voice: “Johnny please pick up the LEGOs?”
I will put money down so that Johnny will likely continue playing with these LEGOS and ignore you. This is not because he is an inconsiderate child; it’s because he is not “hearing” your plea to do something. The unconscious mind and a 5-year-old child respond best to a direct command, so you must tell Johnny, “Pick up your LEGOS now!” in a very firm voice.
To access and create change in our unconscious mind, we need to understand these two simple mechanics of how it functions. Now that we know all these interesting
details, the next question is: what does that mean for the average person just minding his own business and walking down the proverbial street?
What if tell you that you could suddenly learn how to be in touch with that incredible part of yourself that is creating EVERYTHING in your world, whether you like what you are creating or not? What if you knew how to access and talk to, decipher, and make CHANGES in the software program of your unconscious mind quickly and with lasting benefits?
While connecting with this amazingly powerful part of ourselves is not only easy, once you understand the dynamics of how it works, it can be fabulously rewarding. If we can truly access and unlock the gifts of our subconscious consciously, we will be able to harness our unlimited and incredible power. We can use this power going forward to create a healthy lifestyle and live with greater ease in our health, create wealth easier, and experience happiness and true joy. When everything is all said and done, isn’t that truly what we are all looking for in our life and this world?
So maybe it IS time to “lose” your conscious mind more - and unleash your unconscious mind to take you where you want to go truly. There is no time like NOW to begin learning how!
