Joe’s Pizza : Feeding families for over 50 years
PHIL BEEBEE THE TRIBUNE-STAR
Joe’s Pizza isn’t just any pizza. It’s a family dream that’s been lived out for more than 50 years.
The Vitale family, now on the fourth generation serving Paris, Ill., strives to continue what immigrants from Sicily started.
Joe and Pia Vitale immigrated to the United States to live the American dream, which became Joe’s Pizza in 1973. The longstanding commitment to quality and customer service is just as alive now as it was in the beginning.
“The mission of ‘Building bonds over food prepared by our family for yours’ still serves as our compass as we continue to grow and expand,” family member Eno Vitale said.
Joe’s Pizza is a mainstay in Paris and Tuscola. In 2025, the Vitales opened a third location, in Terre Haute.
Joe’s serves pizza, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, wings and more. But the specialty is in the business name. “We are known for our pizza! We
use 100 percent real mozzarella that is shredded fresh daily,” Eno Vitale said. “We make our own dough and sauces using quality ingredients from recipes created by our parents. Our local butcher makes our sausage for us weekly using our recipe that starts with 96 percent lean pork.”
The emphasis on fresh, handmade, and locally made keep the customers coming back. Customers are treated like they belong, because the business and its owners are as much a part of the community as their customers.
“Our customers are truly family! They are our friends, neighbors, classmates, and mentors. We watch our kids’ sports together, go to church together, volunteer together,” Eno Vitale said. “We do life together! We would be nothing without these extraordinary, loyal people.”
And the family’s heritage shines through in their menu and their atmosphere.
“We are Italian - we love food! Mealtimes hold so much impor-
tance in our culture. It is the time to gather with family and friends and enjoy each other’s company,” Eno Vitale said. “It goes way beyond eating itself, it truly symbolizes happiness and is an expression of love. We get the opportunity to bring this to our communities each day!”

Rose Hill Landscaping Loves the Terre Haute Community
Phil Beebe and Cary Albin THE TRIBUNE-STAR
When a hobby and passion fuel a business, amazing things can happen!
Rose Hill Landscaping, Lawn Care and Snow Service is a shining example of this.
At Rose Hill, we’re dedicated to making your dreams come true by helping your property look its absolute best!
“At Rose Hill Landscape, whether it is commercial or residential landscaping, we’re excited to stand out in the industry as industry-trained landscapers,”
owner Cary Albin shared with enthusiasm.
The name Rose Hill is a heartfelt tribute to Albin’s grandmother, who adored beautifully landscaped yards and passed away years ago. His deep affection for
her inspired the name.
Since their start in 2008, Rose Hill has specialized in a wide range of landscaping, yard work, and snow removal services.
They offer premium mowing services that include meticulous edging, weed eating, and blowing away clippings to ensure a clean and polished presentation after every visit.
Rose Hill’s landscaping projects are truly exciting! They provide consultation and planning for paver patios, sidewalks and driveway installation, retaining wall installation, mulch/rock, complete landscape design and makeovers, tree and plant installations, and premium landscape lighting installations.
Our winter services include shoveling, plowing, and the application of a safe, high-quality ice melt that won’t damage your property.
“At Rose Hill, we love providing expert landscaping consultations to develop tailored plans that meet the unique needs of our clients,” Cary said with a smile. “We absolutely love working with our customers to transform their properties into the best in the neighborhood! There’s nothing quite like taking a not-so-greatlooking area and turning it into the most stunning spot on the block. It brings us so much joy to see our clients’ smiles as their visions come to life!”
Rose Hill Landscaping is proud to be part of the Terre Haute community and actively supports groups like the Terre Haute Noon Optimist Club, Trees Inc., CODA, Mount Pleasant Church, Guys Who Give, and more. Giving back is at the heart of what they do.
A Heartfelt Thank You from The Flats of Terre Haute
By Shelly Jenkins and Stacy Baker THE TRIBUNE-STAR
We are humbled and honored to be recognized by the Tribune Star Readers’ Choice Awards, as voted on by our local community. We extend our gratitude to our residents, employees, subcontractors, the Terre Haute community, friends, and family for their support in voting for The Flats of Terre Haute. We appreciate your continued trust in choosing us as your new home.
The Flats offers 154 thoughtfully designed units, including 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom apartments and townhomes. Originally envisioned by the late Rick Jenkins, The Flats remains a cherished family legacy and a locally owned small business. Built in three phases by RJ Builders, with a fourth phase planned, our newest phase features modern 2-3 bedroom townhomes and 1-2 bedroom single-story apartments. Residences include granite or quartz countertops, lam-
inate flooring, carpeting, washer/ dryer hookups, tankless water heaters, and heat pumps. Two- and three-bedroom units also offer a private one-car garage. As a special perk, we provide free greens fees at Idle Creek Golf Course.
Managing apartments is both challenging and rewarding. Building a thriving community requires a skilled team dedicated to maintenance, painting, cleaning, and lawn care. This also involves understanding the property’s history, assisting prospective residents with tours, and ensuring that every home is well cared for inside and out.
Located at 25th Street and Margaret Avenue on Terre Haute’s southeast side, The Flats is just a 15-minute drive from grocery stores, hospitals, restaurants, churches, parks, and the city’s four universities.
Finding a new home or rental can be stressful, but we aim to make the process simple. Whether you’re
moving for work, school, retirement, or a fresh start, we are here to help.
At The Flats of Terre Haute, our residents make our community exceptional. We are grateful for your continued support!

Hoosier Homes treat your home like their own
PHIL BEEBEE THE TRIBUNE-STAR
When the Hoosier Homes Construction team works on your house, they have the mindset that it is their house.
That drive has served Chris Wright’s business well as he has developed and grown what was first a landscaping business and is more full-service construction, with an emphasis on exterior work such as siding and roofing.
Wright began his landscaping business when he was in high school, and then studied construction management at Indiana State University. He transitioned his work into general contracting and after college made Hoosier Homes his full-time work serving the Wabash Valley.
In addition to siding and roofing, Hoosier Homes does seamless gutter installation and general contracting for new home builds, residential remodeling, and restoration of homes. Hoosier Homes works directly with insurance
companies following a fire, flood or other damage sustained to a home.
“We’re proud to deliver high-quality work durable, long-lasting materials,”
Wright said.
As owner and operator, Wright is involved in every aspect of the business, from planning and project management to customer service.
“I’ve built a small, skilled team that shares the same commitment to quality and professionalism,”
Wright said. “We treat every job like it’s being done on our own home!”
And the completion of a project is a most satisfying feeling that keeps Wright and his team going.
“I love building things that last,”
Wright said. “There’s something really rewarding about seeing a project go from an idea to a fin-
ished result that improves someone’s home and their day-to-day life. I also love being part of the
local community and knowing our work helps make it a better place to live.”
The connection to the community shines in the company’s commitment to service.
“Our customers are our neigh-
bors—homeowners throughout the Wabash Valley who value quality workmanship, clear communication, and dependable service,” Wright said. “We work with people who are looking to invest in their biggest asset, their home, and want a contractor they can trust.”

Make Your House The Envy Of The Neighborhood
Derek Davis started HydroClean Exteriors in 2018 with just himself and a strong work ethic. Within a year, he hired two team members. Now in their 8th Season, the company continues to grow—adding 8 more employees, a dozen services, and over 1700 loyal customers.
HydroClean offers a wide range of exterior cleaning and home maintenance services. These include:
• Soft washing for siding and roofs
• Cleaning and Staining of Decks and Fences
• Pressure washing and sealing of concrete, brick, and masonry
• Gutter cleaning and gutter guard installation
• Exterior painting for homes and businesses
• Christmas Light Installation
“As far as services go, our specialty is deck and fence staining,” Davis said.
“It’s the most complex category, and it’s where we really shine. We have developed a very detailed multi-step process that yields consistently great results time after time. We also offer deck/fence repairs as well as complete rebuilds as part of our restoration services.”
HydroClean Exteriors
HydroClean’s customers are a mix of busy people with families and those who used to do much of their own home maintenance. Some of their customers are at a point in life where they prioritize time with kids over doing home maintenance, and others would simply rather leave the climbing of ladders to someone else. In both cases, HydroClean is happy to help.
Customer satisfaction is Hydroclean’s top priority according to their owner.
“We specialize in excellent communication with our customers and consistently great service,” Davis said.
New for 2025:
• Peace of Mind Plan: An annual gutter cleaning plan with deep discounts and priority scheduling. Just “set it and forget it.”
• Christmas Light Installation: After a successful trial in 2024, this service will expand for the 2025 holiday season.
“My employees are loyal, hard-working people from various backgrounds. We have a fantastic team that understands how to deliver on our promise of excellence.”

Conine & Sons: Mowers, generators and more
PHIL BEEBEE THE TRIBUNE-STAR
For close to three decades, Conine & Sons Inc. has focused on helping its customers keep their outdoor equipment in top shape.
That mission has now expanded to include residential generators to help keep the power on at all times.
Conine & Sons, owned by Danny and Paula Conine, started in a small workshop building 29 years ago, quickly outgrowing that building. They have now added two more buildings, a full workshop, and a showroom.
Conine & Sons sells Scag, Exmark zero-turn mowers, and Echo 2 cycle outdoor equipment. They also sell Generac portable generators and Kohler Standby generators. This is in partnership with owners Dallas & Katie Gustafson, of Complete Ag Electric. The business workshop services and maintains all outdoor equipment.
“We specialize in helping our customers keep their equipment in top shape in order to keep their properties looking great,” Brian Conine said.
“We strive to build strong relationships with our customers and provide them with the best service possible,” added Lucas Conine.
“Our family takes time to educate each customer on how to keep their mowers maintained and their operators safe while using.”
The Conine & Sons team is knowledgeable and up-to-date.
“Our employees keep up with training classes and certifications every year to make sure we stay on top of our products and new ways to better our service,” Danny Conine said.
“We love being able to provide services to new customers as well as being able to be here for the needs of our customers who have become friends over the years,” added Heidi Conine.
And the entire Conine & Sons family and team is thankful for the customers that have been supportive and kept the business growing.

Veteran Tree Trimming owner returns to his roots
PHIL BEEBEE THE TRIBUNE-STAR
From a side hustle to one of the best businesses in the area. That’s the 5-year journey for Veteran Tree Trimming.
Founded in May 2020, Veteran Tree Trimming started with a single truck working out of the owner’s home in Terre Haute. In 2025, the business is a full-time venture with eight employees, multiple pieces of equipment and a 13,000-square foot shop. Veteran Tree Trimming is based out of Parke County and serves the entire Wabash Valley and surrounding communities.
“Veteran Tree Trimming is your go-to tree service provider serving West Central Indiana and Edgar, Clark and Vermilion counties in Illinois,” owner Steve Ball said.
Ball’s business specializes in hazardous tree removals, trimming, lot clearing, right-of-way maintenance, and stump grinding.
Veteran Tree Trimming LLC
313 E. North St., Montezuma, IN 47862 765-592-5430 • vttllc2020@gmail.com www.veterantreetrimming.com
Veteran Tree Trimming is fully insured, offers workers compensation and is a certified Veteran-owned business. Their crews ensure quick, safe, on-time and on-budget completion of every project, no matter how challenging, and are ready to respond to emergency services.
Ball, a Navy veteran, started in the tree business at the age of 21. After returning home from the Navy he took a job with Duke Energy and didn’t get back to tree trimming until starting this business in 2020.
“Over the past five years we have purchased the equipment necessary to take on larger and more complex jobs,” Ball said. “We love our ability to work both residential and large commercial projects.
I feel what makes us unique is our ability to move quickly and efficiently, our use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and our ability to maintain our meaningful connection that defines our company.”
Veteran Tree Trimming’s employees cover a variety of skillsets, all of which are needed to make a job successful. The guy in the bucket or climbing has a big team behind them, all specializing in different skills, but continuing to cross-train to keep them interchangeable. From mechanics, operators, and electricians, to rigging, running ropes, and felling trees, our employees continue to learn new skills in order to get the job done.
