Heal T he Ba y Ser vice Bay Service By Bro. Michael Shane Miranda Service is the lifeblood of our organization . . . headed by the ever mindful and ever serving chairperson, Sis Marisol Roberto (Lambda Alpha chapter) and led by APOGLA President Casimiro “Beeboy” Mansilla, APOGLA has once again exemplified what it is to be a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity & Sorority by demonstrating through actions one of our 3 cardinal principles, which is Service. It was a fun day at the LA riverside tributaries as we did our part as environmentalists this time for this worthy service project of healthebay.org. Same as last year, despite a drop in the number of volunteers, it was another worthwhile and successful endeavor from the APOGLA group together with the young ones and the “young once” alike. After half a day’s work, the service was capped off by a scrumptuous lunch which the APOGLA volunteers gamely partook at the Mayflower Restaurant in Chinatown. Kudos to all who volunteered to make this service project push through. Sa uulitin mga kapatid!

It also aligns with my personal agenda where demand on my time has been so hectic. In addition to spending time with my family, I also have to stretch my schedule to spend time with an aging parent and growing grandkids. It’s a win-win for me until I realized that I was only thinking about my situation. I should be looking at the Pros and Cons from the eyes of a new member and not from an old member like me who has reaped the rewards of being a longtime APOGLA member. Continued on page 3
