PRESIDENT’S MESSA GE MESSAGE By Mike “Boy” Medina Our Family Picnic was a good summer break for the group which was held at the Don Day Community Center in Fontana, a substitute location to the sudden closure of the Fontana Aquatic Center due to maintenance of the pool. After the picnic everyone headed to Bro. Vic’s residence for the 8th General Membership Meeting. I would like to thank Bro. Vic Paredes and his wife Christa, for accommodating the group on our 8th GMM. To the August birthday celebrators and Pi Alumni, for sharing your birthday and anniversary celebrations with APOGLA. On Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 8:30 (assembly time) is APOGLA Beach Clean-up Service at 15 1st St, Seal Beach, California, maybe our last service project for the year. After the beach clean-up service will be our General Membership Meeting to be held at Bro. Danny Carrasco’s Residence in 5841 Coldbrook Ave., Lakewood CA 90713. Please be informed that this will also be a presentation of candidates. Our COMELEC will be giving further announcement who the candidates are. The ACNA Fall meeting on August 30 to Sunday, September 1st, at Holiday Inn-Torrance was well attended by Alumni Association members coming from different states of North America. On The evening of the Banquet, Sis. Ophel Amon, our own APOGLA member, received the ACNA’s APO Service Award, congratulations!!! At the same time, the APO Golf Friendship Cup was carried out. This is an annual competition between Brothers from Northern California against Brothers from Southern California. This time Northern California has taken away the Friendship Cup from Southern California. Next year, APO South will be heading towards Northern California to try and regain the Friendship Cup.
