FALL STYLE
As we begin the transition from summer to fall, you may begin thinking about how you can refresh your wardrobe for the new season. Looking timeless and chic while still remaining practical can sometimes be a struggle, however, I’ve done the work for you. I explored all the latest trends shown on runways across the world in order to curate a fresh array of styles you can start incorporating into your everyday outfits.
- Written By Aiden Lynch

MUTED TONES
This year’s fall/winter collections stayed true to a traditional autumn color palette, featuring rich tones of brown, gray, burnt orange, and olive green. Some houses, like Ralph Lauren, embraced these tones head to toe, creating a sophisticated and timeless look. Others, such as Miu Miu, pair the muted tones with candy-colored pastels for a younger, more playful vibe. To elevate your own style, consider incorporating these shades into your everyday wardrobe; think muted bags, understated shoes, and a versatile coat that you can layer with what you already own.
BELTED FAILLE SHIRTDRESS - POLO RALPH LAUREN

BOLD PRINTS PAIRED WITH CLASSICS
Several fall/winter collections featured bold, colorful patterns styled with classic pieces. This juxtaposition creates a fresh, exciting look that can elevate items you already have in your closet. For a unique take on fall fashion, try pairing colorful, chunky knitwear with your favorite jeans. For a more classic, chic look, opt for muted animal prints or traditional plaids. Incorporating patterns into your outfit is an easy way to add interest without overthinking what you’re wearing.
LOMA CREW NECK SWEATERLNA

LEATHER EVERYTHING
While leather is one of the most common fabrics used in fashion, it's often reserved for accessories or used sparingly throughout an outfit. However, full leather looks were featured in almost every single runway show this season. Leather on leather is a simple way to create a sophisticated look while still staying warm as we enter the colder months. Don’t be afraid to invest in leather gloves, handbags, blouses, and pants. Even if the full leather look isn’t for you, don’t underestimate the value of a statement leather jacket.
CANDACE LEATHER BOMBER LAMARQUE

BOHO CHIC
Most people associate boho chic with warm weather, but the style has seamlessly made its way into fall/winter collections as well. This season, lace, flowy fabrics, and bold accessories were prominent across several runways. Before you pack away all your summer staples, consider holding onto a few key pieces. Peasant tops, fringe accents, and wicker bags when styled thoughtfully can add a unique edge to your fall wardrobe and elevate your overall look.
CHLOÉ IVORY CRÊPE SHIRT

BOXY SILHOUETTES
One of the biggest factors in fall/winter fashion is staying warm. Fortunately, this season many designers are showcasing layered looks. While some may have left their shoulder pads behind in the '80s, it’s time to bring them back. Layering pieces from your wardrobe to create a bold silhouette is a stylish way to stay both warm and chic. Start by digging through your closet for chunky sweaters, boxy bottoms, and structured jackets. These fall essentials are the perfect foundation for building standout looks.
SAMARA PULLOVER VELVET

LARGE BAGS
While small bags have dominated trends over the past few years, large bags are finally making a comeback. Several designers featured them in their latest collections, showcasing a wide range of styles, shapes, and colors. Chloé presented several large, slouchy bags reminiscent of early 2000s fashion, while brands like Hermès opted for more structured, timeless designs.Whether it's a simple tote or a statement bowler bag, large bags are a musthave as we head into the new season.

SENIOR STYLE
The Triangle has gone back to school, and with the new school year comes new fashion trends. As a senior in high school myself, I’ve noticed what I call the “three c’s” shaping the fashion choices of my classmates - comfort, customization, and confidence. These three points aren’t exclusive to this year’s graduating class though- anyone and everyone can try the “three c’s.”
Comfort
Comfort has always been important to the younger generation, but to this year’s seniors, it’s become increasingly prioritized. After twelve years of schooling, you start to realize the importance of coziness. Seniors may be shopping for feel, but that doesn’t mean they’ve sacrificed looks. Seniors are wearing comfortable sweatpants in greys and blacks, but are pairing them with basic tops and accessorizing with lots of jewelry to elevate the look. Flared leggings paired with comfortable slipperssuch as the Ugg Tasmans- look intentional, but don’t sacrifice that quality of relaxation. Walking down the hallways at my high school, you’ll see sweatshirts of every style in almost every color. Zip-ups, crewnecks, hoodies- you name it, someone’s wearing it. Grab your go-to pair of jeans and some athletic sneakers- the New Balance 550s are a popular choice- and you’re ready to take on the chilly classrooms and long lectures of high school. No matter the outfit, seniors this year don’t skimp on the accessories. Simple jewelry alongside a matching hair clip brings an outfit together- without taking away any of the comfort.
Customization
Being a senior in high school is an accomplishment, and this year, seniors have been taking those bragging rights very seriously. From jeans to bows to backpacks, everything is customized with Class of 2026. Clothing brands such as Hollister have catered to the need
for personalization, dropping an entire collection dedicated to this year’s class of ‘26. But you don’t have to be a senior in high school to hop on this trend. Whether it’s by wearing an old sweatshirt donning the name of the college you attended, or a letterman jacket from your time playing varsity soccer, flaunt your achievements! The fashion world is embracing a backstory, and so should you. Build your outfit around your past- pair an alumni sweatshirt with wide-leg jeans to create a casual look that’s so very you.
Confidence
Confidence should be at the center of every outfit, and this year, seniors are embracing that concept. I’ve seen students show up and show out this year, experimenting with different aesthetics and styles to find what makes them feel good. Seniors are preparing for college, and with that comes lots of self-discovery. Animal print, pleated skirts, and high waisted slacks have all made an appearance in the classrooms this year. And while these different styles may not seem like a part of an organized fashion trend, they all share one element: confidence. The trend this year is finding out what makes you feel good. So buy that colorful blouse you’ve been eyeing and donate the things in your closet you never reach forbecause while trends can be fun to follow, fashion should be about you.

We are excited to welcome high school student Reese Butler and her column SENIOR STYLE. Stay tuned for next issue when she explores Holdiay Style for teens.

MOVIE NIGHT: UNFORGOTTEN
Written by Heather S. Parsons • heather@trianglestyle.com
Unforgotten, A Masterpiece Mystery cold case crime drama series, distinguished by both sensitive acting and superb writing, follows highly focused DCI Cassie Stuart, who not only looks as if she stayed up most of the night, caught up with the painstaking task of pulling together bits and pieces of the ingredients of an often decades old murder— the who, when, and why — then the cups of coffee, the solitude of a quiet house, is what someone as methodical as DCI Cassie Stuart, London’s cold-case leading detective often needs.
Yet, underneath Cassie’s unswerving dedication to solving a particular coldcase murder is her commitment to the victim’s family. She comforts them, sits with them and carefully listens while they tell her that not knowing what happened to their child or parent is a pain that never leaves them, it is with them every single day no matter how many years have passed.
And this is a big part of what motivates Cassie to search through even the smallest bit of information. She takes us along with her, which is a format I really like. Each episode of a particular season adds an ingredient in solving the crime.
Part of Cassie’s job, as the head detective, is to assign each member of her cold case team a specific task, maintaining her authority without sacrificing her down to earth communication style. And she has the same sort of level headed calm with Sunny, her senior investigator and right hand man. They are comfortable with each other. Sunny brings a bit of comic relief to the sobriety to their days. Neither one is averse to discussing the case at hand over a couple of beers, with perhaps a hint of flirtation, quickly ignored.
In season 5, without giving away too much, a new head detective, DCI Jess James, is introduced. She immediately informs Sunny she knows she is not Cassie and she’s is not going to try to replace her. Sunny being Sunny looks as if he doesn’t quite believe her; he very much misses Cassie and her methods. But Sunny doesn’t want to give up bringing justice to the unforgotten, and thus he puts all differences he may have with Jess aside.
Sunny adjusts better than I did. I resented this new detective. Too abrupt to my taste, she thinks it’s a waste of time and money to explore cold cases more than five or so years before. Unlike Cassie, Jess doesn’t stay up all night, pouring over clues from the more or less distant past. She sticks to a schedule and is dressed appropriately for her position.
This is where the writer steps in. He brilliantly bridges the professional demeanor of Jess and the private one. She has a reason for being so stern. And I sympathize with her, with her self-discipline.
As episode 1 of season 6 ends, Jess and Sunny have developed an understanding of each other. She brings humor and a biting wit to the gruesome task of working cold cases and Sunny brings acceptance and warmth.
Although the murder themselves are brilliantly written, what stands out for me are the methods and winding roads to the discovery of each crime, and, in particular, the relationships of those detectives who make each victim’s life, and whomever took it away, remembered.

Hi Anna, My teenage daughter is starting to experience more and more acne. I realize this is typical of her age, but I know she’s feeling anxious and self conscious about it when she does start socializing again. What would you recommend for treatment? Products, laser, or a combination of both? - Samantha G.
My heart goes out to your daughter, Samantha! Acne is no fun at any age, but especially not when you’re a teen. Luckily, there are a few things I can recommend to help. First things first, I’d start with a gentle skin routine twice a day. Keeping it simple with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and SPF is a great place to start until your daughter can see a medical aesthetician for more personalized recommendations. Once she has a solid routine in place, laser skin therapy or medium- to deep-strength chemical peels can make a world of difference. At Synergy, we love our Sciton BBL™ Acne treatment for active acne, which uses the power of light to comfortably and effectively clear breakouts. This treatment combines blue light, yellow light and infrared light to target deep in the pores and to help create an unlivable environment for acne-causing bacteria. Of course, everyone is different and meeting one-on-one with a dedicated skin professional is the first step to healing your skin. For anyone suffering with acne, the most important thing to know is that there are options and that we are here to help! Schedule a consultation with a skin expert at Synergy to get started today.
Anna Churchill is the founder of Synergy Spa & Aesthetics with two locations in Raleigh. She also teaches corrective makeup and innovative skin care to dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aestheticians, and spa owners worldwide. Email your questions to askanna@trianglestyle.com

Written By Lou Scott
The first time I remember seeing a front porch was at my Great Aunt Nell’s rather plain Victorian house. It looked just like you would expect a house to see in a picture book. There was a lady with white hair, done up in a bun, wearing what could be called a housecoat and apron. In front of her, sitting on a small table was a large bowl, where she was putting in the fresh green beans she had snapped for supper. My mother went to Great Aunt Nell’s house, at least once every summer, before we headed to Great Aunt Marian’s, Nell’s twin sister. Aunt Marian’s house was properly decorated, but there was no front porch, which I considered a real let-down. But, what she did have was a large playhouse in the backyard, replete with a white picket fence, a dutch door, and a large window. Aunt Marion was proud of Uncle Dell’s workshop and the playhouse he built, as it was indeed the pride of the myriad children who visited.
Marion seemed to look down on Aunt Nell’s house, felt it was too primitive, but between the playhouse and Aunt Nell’s front porch, I just couldn’t choose, so I decided that when I grew up I would buy a white house with a front porch and a playhouse in the back yard. I thought Aunt Marion’s house was nice but it would never have competed with Aunt Nell’s. For not only did it lack a front porch, positioned for sunny afternoons, it also lacked was what I would now call an interesting eccentric touch. The kitchen wall boasted a Moose head put there by Uncle Jimmy (He was a taxidermist). That was scary, but it added to my interest in Aunt Nells’ house. Nonetheless, it was enough for me to quicken my step when I walked through the kitchen on the way to the porch. At the end of my visit, Aunt Nell gave me a basket of green apples, which I dearly loved with to eat with salt. I occupied my mind on my way ride on the way back to Gramma’s house twenty or so miles away; I imagined what it would have been like to have lived in the time when the
house was built, back when it was fashioned out of a spot that had once been rock filled land in the middle of the woods.
I never imagined how the house or the front porch looked in winter—I didn’t want to lose sight of summer. Furthermore there were no paved roads where Marion and Nell lived— just mud and mounds of snow. And because there was no high school in Coldwater, Bernice, Nell’s youngest daughter moved to Orillia, where there was a good sized one. When she grew up, she went to college and then became an operating room nurse in a prestigious hospital in a big city. She married the head surgeon, had red-headed triplets, who trampled all over my grandmother’s garden.
I loved my grandmother, but she didn’t have a front porch. What she did have was a stone terrace that overlooked the lake below. I liked it a lot, an awful lot, but I still wanted a front porch when I grew up. So now I wanted a stone terrace overlooking a lake, a playhouse in the back yard, and a white Victorian house with a wide front porch.
My next example of front porches were the movies I watched. “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Elmer Gantry” are just two. Everyone was happy in these houses. Whenever anyone went past, they waved, as they walked by the white picket fence. And it seemed they knew everyone. Often people would bring a bit of gossip to their warm summer evenings, while sitting on the porch.
Years later I moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where I lived in a 1747 house. It was a simple Dutch Colonial, with a large front yard, which took almost most of the Saturday to cut the grass. But its draw for me was a huge front porch, the nicest one yet. In the afternoons, I would take myself to the hammock and have a Mint Julep, which I considered a Southern tradition.
When I finally retired I moved to Maine. And what did I buy? I bought a white Victorian with a wide front porch. We live there now.

FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR SPACE:
5 EFFORTLESS 2025 TRENDS

ORGANIC & RAW TEXTURES
Natural materials add depth and warmth, especially as temperatures drop. Look for:
• Wood with visible grain, stone coasters, or raw- edge cutting boards
• Woven baskets, jute rugs, and linen table runners
LAYERED LIGHTING
Instead of relying on a single overhead light, create cozy ambiances using a mix of:
TIPS
• Floor and table lamps with warm bulbs
• LED candles and string lights for a soft glow
• Dimmable smart bulbs for mood control
EARTHY WARM TONES
Think rich rust, deep olive, burnt sienna, and golden ochre. These colors are making a strong comeback, especially in textiles like throw pillows, blankets, and curtains.
TIPS
• Swapping out summer pillows for warm-toned velvet or wool covers
• Adding dried florals or pampas grass in amber glass vases
LOW-KEY LUXE COMFORT
“Quiet luxury” is trending in fashion and interiors alike. Think comfort + sophistication:
• Plush, oversized throws in neutral cashmere-like textures
• Neutral boucle or sherpa cushions
• Mixing matte black or brass accents with soft textiles
SEASONAL DECOR SWAPS (LESS IS MORE)
nstead of going all-in on pumpkins and foliage, go minimalist:
A small ceramic pumpkin or two Eucalyptus wreaths with a fall tint
Simple table centerpieces with seasonal fruit like figs or pears

FIVE APPS TO HELP YOU BE MORE ORGANIZED
Organization is critical in both work and home, but being organized is getting harder every day.
After all, between work, zoom calls, commuting, catching up on social media, doing groceries, and taking time for ourselves, we all have tighter schedules than people a decade ago. Luckily, we also have more powerful smartphones than ever, and there are many organization apps available to help you.
HERE ARE OUR FAVORITE APPS TO BE ORGANIZED AND MAKE THE MOST OUT OF YOUR DAY.

Photo by bruce mars on Unsplash
EVERNOTE

Evernote is one of the best note-taking apps, and taking notes is key if you want to be more organized. Evernote, though, is more than a notepad. It literally helps you remember everything, from important dates and appointments to images and other media. Scan documents, upload audio, or simply write a quick note and Evernote will sync your dashboard with all of your devices.Did you have a great business idea while on the subway? Type it down and get back to it later. Did you see something inspiring while in the park? Take a picture and store it instantly and safely.Evernote is an assistant for your short- and longterm memory, and it will let you focus on other things while never forgetting what really matters.
1PASSWORD

Nowadays, one of the easiest ways of being more productive and staying organized is to have your passwords in order. After all, we’re all subscribed to dozens of services and use a vast range of online services for everything, from doing our shopping to chatting with our loved ones.Well, 1password takes care of your passwords safely and conveniently, with top-of-the-line security while still being easy to use. Use it individually or get a family plan. There are also many enterprise solutions for your business, and they all work similarly. Think of carrying around your browser’s trusty autofill extension everywhere you go and on all your devices.
HITASK
MEALBOARD
Staying organized in the kitchen is one of the most important things if you want to get a healthy routine going. Here’s where MealBoard comes in. Think of a pantry management app that helps you keep track of your grocery list based on a recipe library. The app works the other way around as well, as it will recommend recipes depending on what’s in your fridge and pantry. Planning meals weekly is easy with MealBoard, which saves you time and ensures you buy what you really need when at the supermarket. The best part? All the information is right there on your screen, in a minimalist interface that makes the app fun to use.

HiTask is a high-performance, easy-touse app that combines a shared calendar, document storage, and project tracking in a single screen, right at your fingertips. HiTask is perfect for small companies and startups, but it does wonders for entrepreneurs and stay-athome parents too.HiTask proves its worth when you start using it with others, as sharing notes and tasks is effortless, keeping everyone in the loop. The app’s To-do list and time-tracking tool are a highlight, but it’s the app’s single-screen dashboard that really makes it special.

TRELLO
Trello is a powerful project management app. Professionals in all fields use Trello to keep track of their and their team’s projects, and even artists use it to keep track of their commissions. This app is better if you are part of a small team, but you can also use it to assign tasks to your family members. Combining boards, lists, and cards representing every task and idea makes using Trello intuitive. One task leads to the next until you complete your project, whether it’s renovating your kitchen or preparing the quarterly earnings report. Stay organized people!
