Purdue Brothers Win Individual Awards at Triangle National Convention During the recent 2026 Triangle National Convention in Denver, two of our Chapter Active Brothers won prestigious individual awards. “Brother of the Year” was awarded to Arnav Aggarwal pur24 and “Outstanding Philanthropy & Service” was awarded to Ethan Wentworth pur25. Pictured above left, Arnav, Oak Stevens (Chapter Alumni Association Board President), and Camren West (Active Chapter President) are shown accepting Arnav and Ethan’s awards at National. Ethan could not attend the event to personally accept his award. Arnav Aggarwall is a junior majoring in Computer Engineering and minoring in organizational leadership. He is currently Risk Manager for the Chapter and was recently appointed Student Foundation Director at Triangle Education Foundation.

Arnav is also Co-Director at the Roger C. Stewart Leadership & Professional Development department at Purdue University. Ethan Wentworth is currently a Junior majoring in Data Science & Statistics. He is Director of Philanthropy and a Recruiting Team member for the Chapter, and was a former Boiler Gold Rush Team Leader. Ethan interned with the DC Grays Baseball team as a Data Analyst and is now a Student Team Manager for Purdue Baseball. New “Apex Scholastic Award” created to Foster Academic Excellence To help motivate academic excellence and improvements for overall house GPA standings, the Chapter Alumni have established a new “Apex Scholastic Award” with $500 scholarships for each semester that qualified Actives achieve Purdue University “Semester Honors” recognition, with a 3.5 or higher semester GPA. The Active Recruiting Team reports they are using the new scholarship as a major selling point during Fall Rush and has generated many positive comments. The new scholarship was made possible with initial funding of more than $35K by Purdue alums Leo Millstein, Tom Aude and Kenn Brandt. Please give a big “thank you” to these Brothers for their generous donations.

2026 Summer Refresh and HID Projects Features Upgraded Furniture Led by Alumni Brothers Darrell Samuels and Don Kruggel, the 2026 Summer Refresh and House Improvement Days projects greatly enhanced the visual appeal and livability of our Chapter House! The 2026 Summer Refresh project was approved by the Board to complete the vision of the 2023 project with new furniture to replace the white sofas in the living room and update seating for the chapter room. Additionally, to help the Actives achieve their fall GPA goals and encourage group study, improvements for the Academic Wing included new video-conferencing equipment, whiteboard and conference table in the library and conference rooms.

The Board approved $9200 for the upgrades with an additional $8000 raised to help fully realize the original Summer Refresh objectives. One additional update is required – replacement of the battery powered window shades that were installed during the original Refresh project. The batteries do not hold charge and need several hours to charge. Estimated cost to replace these shades with Levelor manual-chain versions is about $2300, for which $1500 is currently pledged. Special thanks to all the Brothers that provided “elbow grease” for HID – Actives: Brad Ratcliff, Drew Gschwind, Brendan Gschwind, Logan Fergusson, Colin Leahy, and Reeve Dwyer. Alumni: Don Kruggel, Darrell Samuels, Steve Powell, Oak Stevens, Zarrell Gray, and Seth Hocking. See below for photos of the Chapter House after completion of these projects; more photos of the House improvements are available on the purduetriangle.com website.

Chapter 2026/27 Purdue Triangle Strategic Objectives Update Last year, the Board developed strategic objectives to guide the continued improvements of the Chapter, as we rebuild from the losses, both financial and number of Brothers, experienced during the Covid-19 years. The objectives include: 1) Increase House Capacity, 2) Improve GPA, 3) Improve House Upkeep, 4) Revise New Member

“Big80s” Alumni Group Golf Weekend The “Big80s” Alumni Group, comprised of Brothers that lived in the House during the 80s decade, hosted its annual alumni golf weekend during August 2830, 2026, on the Purdue Campus. The event was attended by 19 Brothers and 3 Spouses from all over the USA.

The progress report for meeting these objectives will be given during the annual Alumni Association Board of Directors Meeting on September 12, 2026. One of the accomplishments is that operating costs and budget improvements now allow break-even with only 28 Actives living in the House – a significant improvement compared to the past few years. Our occupancy Following tradition, the group met Friday night at “Harry’s Chocolate Shop” to swap recent personal experiences and enjoy refreshments. On Saturday morning, the group completed 18 holes of golf on the Purdue Ackerman-Allen course. Then after golf, the group was hosted by Brother Dave Beering and his wife, Donna, at their lovely house in West

goals are upper 30s for Fall 2027 and 48 for 2028. The complete report will be made available to Brothers after the annual meeting and will be summarized in our “All The Angles” email newsletter, to be distributed approximately one week after the meeting.
