2023 EXECUTIVE BOARD This past December, the active chapter elected the new executive board for the upcoming year. The new positions are listed below. Former President Noah Walters will be moving on to a new role as Executive Vice President of the Interfraternity Council for the upcoming year. Congratulations to all new officers!
Welcome to the winter edition of "Bits and Bytes” – the official newsletter for alumni of the Michigan Chapter of Triangle Fraternity.
GREEKS CLEAN THE STREETS
After the Michigan State and Nebraska home football games, brothers Carson Denman, Will Gordon, David Watkinson, and Noah Walters woke up the next morning to participate in Greeks Clean the Streets, an event where brothers pick up cans and glass from the sidewalks and streets around campus. The brothers wanted to make sure they gave back to the community that they are a part of and do their part to keep campus clean. The chapter is looking to continue this service opportunity next semester for even more home football games.

HAUNTED HOUSE
PAINTBALLING
During October, the active chapter transformed the chapter house into a haunted house with the help of Phi Sigma Rho sorority. From October 25th-27th, the active chapter sold tickets for students on campus to go through the haunted house worked by the both brothers and sisters. All proceeds collected went to Habitat for Humanity and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. This year, the chapter was able to exceed all goals and raise over $1,000 for the two charities.
IRONMAN RACE This summer, Brother Alex Stidham trained for and ran a Half Ironman race in Augusta, Maine. A Half Ironman consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run. Over the course of the semester, Alex has been training so that he can run a Full Ironman over the next summer. Alex says that he loves the atmosphere and is excited for what the next race will bring.
Early in the semester, the chapter took a trip to Future Ball Paintball and Airsoft to spend an afternoon playing paintball games against each other. In total, the chapter participated in 3 matches, one of Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, and regular Deathmatch. The chapter greatly enjoyed this new activity and plan to make it a regular trip in the upcoming years.
HOMECOMING
The active chapter hosted a tailgate this semester for all alumni. This year, homecoming also happened to land on parent’s weekend, so brother’s parents were able to join in on the festivities and tour the chapter house. Our house chef, Joyce, cooked a great meal for the tailgate with various activities hosted by the active chapter. A watch party was held during the game for all the alumni, and the night ended with an alumni bar crawl down South University.

MICHIGAN HOUSE CAMPAIGN UPDATE
The Securing Our Second Century Campaign continues to make progress, with more than $336,000 in commitments as of December 31, 2022. The campaign will support a renovation of our chapter’s home at 1501 Washtenaw Avenue and position Michigan Triangle for continued success. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000,000 in commitments. As of this newsletter going to print, 45 alumni have made commitments to the campaign.
