Make a free appointment at UNC Health Johnston's Medicaid Enrollment Event. The first 80 attendees will receive a free meal kit.
Medicaid is a health insurance program that pays for doctor visits, emergency care, dental care, mental healthcare, pregnancy and maternity care, prescription drugs and more – at little or no cost to you.
You may be able to get healthcare coverage through NC Medicaid, even if you didn’t qualify before.

Appointments are preferred, but walk-in appointments are also available. A Spanish interpreterwill be at the event. UNC Health Johnston's Mobile Outreach Unit will also be doing heart screenings.

Who is eligible?
As of Dec. 1, 2023, most people can get healthcare coverage through NC Medicaid if you:
• Live in North Carolina
• Are ages 19-64
• Are a U.S. citizen (some non-U.S. citizens can also get coverage)
• Have a household income that falls within these guidelines:

Family of 5
Family of 6
What do I need to bring with me?
• A photo ID OR passport
$20,120 or less
$27,214 or less
$34,307 or less
$41,400 or less
$48,493 or less
$55,586 or less
• Social security number or immigration documents, such as your social security card, military ID card or official document with social security number information
• A copy of your VISA/immigration card may be needed for immigration status
• Proof of North Carolina residency (includes photo ID with NC address listed, utility bill, lease or mortgage agreement, vehicle registration or document of employment)
• Income information (includes paystubs, W-2 forms, tax returns or business records)
If additional information is needed, you will receive a letter from your local Department of Social Services.
