The Association offered 3 of the 5 NAAEI credential programs: Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS), Certified Apartment Manager (CAM), and Certified Apartment Leasing Professional (CALP). TAA had 41 individuals walk through its doors during July, August, and October to pursue an NAAEI credential. Twelve candidates have earned their credentials thus far, while others register to take their online proctored exams.

The committee raised a record-breaking amount of $6,860, with proceeds to benefit the Triangle Apartment Association Education Foundation (TAAEF). Members of the committee also volunteered to support TAAEF and its fundraisers; hosted its’ first virtual maintenance roundtable for the year in the fall with 24 maintenance/service professionals in attendance. The committee is looking forward to hosting a maintenance roundtable in person in the first quarter of 2023.

Participants were partnered with and interviewed by representatives of the five TAA participating management companies to provide them with an 8-week monitored work base experience (WEB) with the opportunity to hire the individual as a permanent hire.

There were eleven participants in total, six from Passion Home and five from Durham Housing Authority (DHA), who participated in a seven-week NAAEI Certificate Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT) program and had the opportunity to go through the CPO certification course.
