Manufactured homes come in a variety of sizes and floor plans. Depending on the size of your homesite, you can choose a single-section or larger multisection design. Homes range in size from 900 to 2,500 square feet and can be customized to your needs, and preferences.

• What features are available?

The interior design of your home can include custom cabinets, walk-in closets, bathrooms with recessed tubs and whirlpools, and wood-burning fireplace.

• How much can I expect to pay for a home?

You’re Not Alone Most people don’t think about rehabilitation until they need it. Even then, it’s often a physician or other health care professional who recommends rehab to continue the person’s recovery after a disabling illness or injury.

It’sthe goal of a rehabilitation facility to help people resume the ordinary activities of daily life that they enjoyed before: earning a living, raising a family, running a home, pursuing a hobby, playing sports.

A good rehabilitation program offers therapy and education to avoid further injury.

It is important to know the difference among facilities. There is a difference, for example, between a retirement home that has rehabilitation professionals on staff and a dedicated rehabilitation hospital.

Facilities that have rehabilitation as their sole objective, such as rehabilitation hospital or center, are likely to have the most highly trained therapists, medical supervision by physiatrists (doctors who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation), nurses and psychologists.

Look for trained staff in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and cognitive therapy, industrial rehabilitation and vocational counseling. Also ask about counseling and support services that can be crucial in the rehab process.

2. Does the facility emphasize prevention of injury? Many common injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, will recur without a change in the way people use their hands.

3. Is the facility well-respected and well-connected in the medical community? Does it have a medical director who specializes in rehabilitation?

Does it have a strong network of consulting physicians and other health care professionals to call upon if necessary?

4. Is the site easily accessible by car or public transportation? Are the buildings easily accessible for people with disabilities?

5. Does the facility accept the insurance or managed care plan you use? A good facility will have an adviser who can help you make financial and insurance arrangements for your therapy.

Inpatient Or Acute Care Facilities Most people who are admitted to an inpatient rehabilitation facility are recovering from injuries or illnesses that severely impair their physical functioning or understanding. These include: • strokes • spinal cord injuries

Tires How To Choose The Right Tire The tires on your vehicle can affect your safety and driving enjoyment.

Choose tires that match both your vehicle and the way you drive.

How Many Tires Do I Need?

All four tires should be identical. If your tires don’t match, you could have handling problems. For instance, one end of your vehicle may not respond as quickly or completely as the other end, making the vehicle more difficult to control.

If you just need to replace one tire that has been damaged, replace it with a tire of the same brand type, size and speed rating. A tire that doesn’t match the other three tires on your vehicle could affect your driving safety. 12mg/ml – For heavier, pack-a-day smokers, this level of nicotine usually results in a harsher throat hit, which is why it’s not usually recommended for first-time vapers.

18mg/ml – If you’re a chain smoker who burns through packs with reckless abandon, you might find yourself hitting this level, or even higher. Remember, the more nicotine in the juice, the less overall flavor.

Appliances Often the basic appliance unit is the same for several brands, but the price increases as the added features increase. This is true on major appliances… to save money, don’t buy more features than you really need.

Before you make a purchase, ask yourself if you really need the appliance. Some features on appliances save time and energy, and some add convenience but use more energy. Some are bought because of the novelty they provide. These extra features are seldom used once the novelty wears off, so you might not want to pay extra for these features. Sometimes an appliance doesn’t really save time or energy because the set up and clean up are time consuming.

BEFORE BUYING, CONSIDER WHERE THE APPLIANCE WILL BE STORED AND USED Often storage creates a problem that outweighs benefits. Be sure where you’ll use it is wired adequately and that there’s an outlet available.

If you know you’ll be buying a major appliance, start reading advertisements, consumer magazines and buying guides available at your local library. Ask friends and relatives about the models they have and which features they use or don’t use.

For large appliances, in particular, service may be important. If you are gone during the day, arrangements will need to be made to allow a service person access to your home.

WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE Take time to read the written guarantee… don’t just take the word of the salesperson. When you buy, remember to fill out and mail the warranty cards.

Look for safety seals and

seals of approval. The UL seal (Underwriters’ Laboratory) is probably the best known safety seal. Another seal, a blue star emblem, may be found on gas appliances. It means that the design and construction meet safety and performance standards of the American Gas Association Laboratories.

Some magazines and other groups have seals of approval, too, but they vary in their worth to the consumer. Don’t assume that a seal assures quality.

For the most part, appliances on the market do what they are designed to do. Your choice of brand and price will depend on personal preference and individual need rather than actual differences in function and quality.

Selecting a central air conditioner is an important decision, since the air conditioning system is a home’s largest energy user. The right AC system makes a home comfortable and efficient. The wrong one can cause discomfort, humidity and maintenance problems that increase utility bills.

Purchasing an AC unit is one of the largest investments homeowners can make, both at purchase and in operating costs. As with any major purchase, the more information you have, the better decisions you can make.

What Should The Calculation Consider?

Heat passes through the walls, roof, windows and doors and is generated by people in the home.
