Emilie Bertram PGA Intern
Emilie grew up just outside of a small town in Falmouth, Kentucky. She began playing golf competitively in middle school, and played on her Varsity high school team for 5 years. In high school, she qualified for the KHSAA girl's state tournament as an individual for all 4 years. She is currently the only freshman girl in the PGM program at EKU, and is excited to be here for her first internship! Please stop by the Pro Shop and get to know her better!

Par 18
Pick 9 different locations around the putting green, and chip a ball to each location, being sure to putt every ball out. Each hole is a Par 2, so the goal is to finish the 9 holes in 18 shots. If you are a high handicapper, you will likely find it very difficult to shoot an 18 at first. So just have fun with it, working at improving your own personal score. If you routinely shoot between 23-25, aim to get that down to 21 or 22! This picture below shows Quinn and I practicing to try to beat the Par 18 score!

USGA RULES OF THE GAME
Rules 101 - Basic Rules of The Game Welcome to Rules 101! Upon completion of this course, you will have a very solid foundational knowledge of the Rules and will be equipped to navigate the majority of Rules situations you might encounter during a round of golf. Rules 101 focuses on the playing Rules, especially those used or encountered most frequently by golfers. This course is appropriate for anyone new to the game or to the Rules, but also for nearly anyone who does not already have advanced knowledge of the Rules. To access this course, you will be prompted to create a free account (or login to an existing account in our system). This is required to capture and store your progress through the course. Through the Green DO YOU KNOW HOW TO FIX BALL MARKS? The average golfer will make 8 ball per round. This means that if 150 people play the course per day this equals 1,200 ball marks per day. Multiply that by 365 days in a year (438,000 ball marks) and your greens will begin to resemble swiss cheese. We can all do our part by fixing ball marks. This will keep the course enjoyable for everyone and consequentially cause more putts to drop!
