Matthew Head to the Idle Hour Professional Golf Staff

My name is Matthew Head, and I am extremely excited and honored to be joining the Golf Professional Staff here at Idle Hour Country Club. My wife, Megan, and I are native Texans and proud alumni of The University of Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies, and she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, a master’s degree in Forensic Science from Oklahoma State University, and is currently a first-year veterinarian student at Lincoln Memorial University. When I am not at work, my wife and I enjoy taking our dogs, Leo and Riley, exploring. We have also started to pick up pickleball!

I began my golf career in 2015 as a member service team member at Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Austin Texas. Since then, my professional journey has taken me to several clubs in Austin (Austin Country Club, Austin Golf Club, and Omni Barton Creek Resort) ranging from private to resort facilities. I am so glad to be coming back to my passion of the private sector, where I can come to know and serve each of you.
