UNDERSTANDING WEDGE GRINDS We have all heard of wedges and their respective bounce, but what about the various wedges and their grinds?

This article will share all the information you need to know about wedges and their grinds.

Wedge grind is the manipulation or removal of material from the sole of the club, helping to improve contact with the turf. Grinds allow for more creativity and consistency around the green, letting you play with ball spin, flight, power, and other factors.

Having a wedge that fits to your swing type is key. Another important aspect of grinds is determining what conditions you normally play in. For example, if you play on firm conditions and tend to sweep the ball, there is a grind just for you. Conversely, if you play on soft conditions and are a "digger," meaning you have a steep swing and take huge divots, there is also a grind suitable for your swing.

If you want to improve your scoring and shave strokes off your game, having a properly fit wedge with the correct bounce and grind will make a world of difference.
