Opening Day 2024 April 11th


The Golf Professional Staff cordially invites you to participate in the Two Thousand and Twenty Four Opening Day Par 3 Tournament to be held at Lexington, Kentucky the eleventh of April. Following play will be dinner and a guest speaker, David Moore. Email the Golf Shop to R.S.V.P for golf, dinner, or both.


The Par 3 Tournament is a 9 hole competition open to both men and women. Holes will be shortened to manageable distances, but the flagsticks will be placed in unfamiliar places. Prizes will be awarded to the best scores of both men and women. Our advice is to bring the flatstick.

Stationed Hors D’oeuvres: -St. Andre, Phyllo, Apricot Preserve and Pecan -Deviled Egg, Pickled Ramp and Cured Salmon -Marinated Manchego and Spanish Chorizo -Goat Cheese Terrine with Tart Cherry Confiture -Cornmeal Crusted Catfish Fingers with Remoulade Dinner Buffet: -Carved Beef Tenderloin with Parker House Rolls, Horseradish and Henry Bain -Chargrilled Shrimp with Calabrian Chili Butter, Fresh Cilantro and Lime -Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna on Himalayan Salt Block with Wasabi and Soy -Grilled Lincoln Co. Asparagus -Baby Carrots with Coriander, Agave and Citrus -Herb Fried Fingerling Potatoes -Creamed Spinach with Mornay and Parmesan Breadcrumbs -Chopped Iceberg Salad with Tomato, Bacon and Ranch -Kale Caesar with Cornbread Croutons -Dinner Rolls Desserts -Cheesecake, Chocolate and Petit Confections


David Moore

David Moore is a professional golf historian, consultant, and writer based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A native of the Pocono Mountains, Dave earned his bachelor’s in American History from the University of Pittsburgh and his master’s in Public History from the University of (PA) and the Youngstown Country Massachusetts, Boston.
