ince its inception, Trent University has been known as a vibrant, cutting-edge academic environment for students and faculty. For students, the Trent experience offers exceptional opportunities for intellectual and social engagement. For faculty, teaching at Trent is about establishing relationships with students to help them achieve their true potential. Our University’s history of giving and volunteerism is one that stands out among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It is clear that our reputation for academic excellence, outstanding research and transformational student experiences is supported and enriched by the contributions of the many donors and volunteers who have given so generously. During this past year, Trent University honoured many of our leaders and supporters with dedications such as the Martin Family Biomaterials Lab, the Robert and Nancy Stephenson Bridge, and the Chair’s Bench in honour of former Board member and Chair David L. Morton, to name a few. As we look ahead to prepare the next generation of leaders, to focus our research on issues of critical importance, and to enhance the communities in which we engage, we will continue our commitment to the individual student and the qualities that make Trent a special place.
