Welcome to Trend Acupuncture! Whether this is your first time receiving acupuncture or you are already a fan, you're in the right place.

When you arrive for your first time, one of our team members will give you a brief orientation of our clinic to show you where things are and explain our services. Please arrive 5 minutes early to allow time for orientation and check-in, and 20 minutes early if you also need to complete the paperwork. We will be taking care of payment prior to your appointment as well. We accept cash, checks, or electronic payment. You will want to plan on a minimum of one hour for your first visit.

Your initial intake will take place in private treatment room, where Kristen will go over your health history, discuss your concerns and create a treatment plan. In general, we recommend that new patients expect to come in for 4 to 6 treatments to see how acupuncture works for their body. When ready, Kristen will have you remove your shoes and socks and then assist you in getting comfortable on the treatment bed. Most treatment sites are located on your legs, feet and below the elbow on your arms.

Once you are comfortable, Kristen will then place the needles. You will then simply relax and rest. There will be soft music playing and white noise machines and a heated bed if you would like to create a space for you to rejuvinate and heal. We work hard to create a tranquil and serene environment.

Beyond your first appointment . . .

After your first visit, you will have a choice to continue your treatment plan in the private room or here, in our community room. The community room offers an effective and affordable way for you to continue your treatment plan as often as necessary to achieve better health.

During your check-in process, you will be asked if you need to leave by a certain time. Otherwise, we'll let you rest until you make eye contact with Kristen to signal that you are done. Most of our patients rest from 30-60 minutes. Zero gravity recliners, warm blankets, soft music and white noise machines create a tranquil and healing space for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture hurt?

Many patients are surprised to find that acupuncture is virtually painless. The insertion of acupuncture needles may cause a brief sharp sensation, that should pass quickly, and fade into a warm or tingling sensation. We use fine, high-quality sterile, single-use needles and a gentle needle technique.

How long does it take for acupuncture to work?

Although some people see relief right away, one treatment does not usually result in total relief of pain. One or two sessions a week for five to six weeks is the normal course of treatment. Many find occasional follow-up treatments are helpful beyond your initial treatment plan, such as every two weeks to four weeks.

Do you take insurance/Medicare/Medicaid?

We do not work with any insurance companies at this time. All of our patients pay at the time of service. If necessary, we can provide a receipt for you to submit to your health savings account or insurance company for reimbursement.

What are the qualifications of the acupuncturist?

Kristen is a Nationally Board Certified acupuncturist and is licensed in New Hampshire. Kristen graduated with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture. Kristen is currently studying for her doctoral degree.

We look forward to joining your healthcare team and helping you feel well again!
