Prospect 13 commitment to nurturing talent brings new accolade
A team member at Scotland’s first virtual marketing agency has been rewarded for her role at the flourishing Aberdeen-based company.
Robert Gordon University (RGU) student Sarah Kelly was named runner up in the inaugural best placement student industry award which was dished out by the School of Creative & Cultural Business during a ceremony at P&J Live on Wednesday, July 13th.
Sarah initially joined the team on a 12-week placement during which her initial focus centred on working with the experienced team to create two client websites so that, during her tenure, she would be able to taste different stages of web development and see the projects become reality.
However, realising that Sarah was too good to say goodbye to after 12 weeks, Prospect 13 Managing Director Cerri McDonald quickly offered Sarah a full-time summer job which will become part-term during term, giving her valuable industry experience as she completes her studies at RGU.

Drumoak Kitchens is celebrating fifty years in business, during which time, the company has evolved from a small workshop creating pine furniture into one of Scotland’s leading bespoke kitchen design companies.
These days, Drumoak Kitchens, is renowned for its great design, outstanding craftsmanship and customer service. The pine has given way to bespoke kitchens and furniture created in woods like ash, maple and oak, painted kitchens or modern German kitchens from Drumoak’s German partner, Hacker. FG Burnett raise £5670 for UCAN
Staff at FG Burnett have raised £5670 for UCAN, the north east’s urological cancer charity, the company’s nominated charity for 2022. The funds came from a charity quiz night and a Valentine’s themed bake sale. In addition, some of the FGB team took part in the 2022 Kiltwalk, completing the 26-mile ‘Mighty Stride’ from Potarch, north of Banchory to the city’s Duthie Park. The company was delighted to present Gayle Stephen of UCAN with a cheque.
Great taste winners celebrate across region
Aberdeen city and shire food businesses have carried off an impressive haul of awards at this year’s Great Taste Awards. City based winners included Raman Spice and Flour Mills, The City of Aberdeen Distillery, Figment Coffee Company and Two Raccoons. In the shire, winners included Mearns Marmalades, Sutherland’s of Portsoy, Aberdeenshire Larder, Barra Bronze Turkeys, Louise’s Farm Kitchen, The Braemar Chocolate Shop, JG Ross, Mackies, The Kindness Bakery, Piggery Smokery, Esker Spirits, Ledmacoy Turkeys, Veg Oot, and the Amity Fish Company.
New Wine School opens in Aberdeen
A wine enthusiast from Aberdeen is raising a glass to her new wine school which opens this autumn. Anna Ferrier’s Aberdeen Local Wine School and will host regular in-person wine tastings and courses to those keen to learn more about wine.
Anna will be hosting an Introduction to wine with lunch on Saturday 24 September at the Malmaison in Aberdeen; a Wine and cheese tasting on Thursday 29 September and Champagne and sparkling wine on Friday 1 October at the Bio Café. New leadership team unveiled at north-east energy charity
Lawrence Johnston and David Mackay have been formally confirmed as joint chief executive officers, of leading energy efficiency charity, Scarf. The men have shared the role on an interim basis since 2020. The co-CEOs will lead the social enterprise’s 60-strong team at a pivotal moment in its 37-year history as the country faces unprecedented pressure on energy bills and increased fuel poverty.
