FUTURISTIC When you think about the future, how do you envision it?

The consumer of today is living in a past-present future where surreal technology, like Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, exist within a world where the past is still important and prevalent.

Futuristic is further supported by the rise of 3D-printed clothing, footwear, and accessories that are being influenced by tech-driven design and a new generation of technical materials that are ultra light, highly breathable, protective, and thermo regulated.

As gender roles become more flexible, terms like “gender-neutral” or genderless masculinity get more predominant with a generation of forward-looking persons emerging. These are audacious people who call themselves “without gender”, challenging preconceived ideas of gender, race, ethnicity and sexuality.

Metallic textures undoubtedly make a statement but futuristic fashion is also defined by other aspects like embossed textures, bespoke fabrics and liquid or metallic finishes.

Futuristic is also slowly influencing our lifestyle as much as services are upscaling, introducing premium and luxury options. Jobs are being displaced by technology, most of the times with the use of robots or drones.

INTUITION In a world where social media and instant gratification are becoming a norm, people are getting more and more stressed and anxiety is the most prominent disease of the century.

Our need to disconnect, feel human emotions, and engage in activities that increase our sense of self-confidence and improve self-growth will only increase in the future.

Mind management and meditation exercises are becoming common therapies to help counter a constant flow of information. From unstable politics to terrorism and climate change threats, people are seeking ways to train their minds and emotions, whether with meditation apps or breath work guides.

Beauty-care routines are being blended with rituals and items of religious or spiritual importance, such as holy water toner, soap infused with-ritual flower or incense charcoal scrub.

In this way, holistic and meditative experiences become part of the daily routine. At the same time people are rejecting organized religion and incorporating alternative beliefs.

The pursuit of a clean lifestyle — free from additives, toxic ingredients, excess sugar or anything deemed “bad” — will spur the creation of more premium products and foods, such as clean meat, pollution-free makeup and organic labeled food.

NEO MINT

NEO MINT There are several ways to include Neo Mint in commercial and residential projects. The combinations are endless, but it is important to seek harmonization between tones and materials. Neo Mint is associated with feelings of calm, security and tranquility, so it’s a great color to use in spaces that bring those same feelings like kitchens or offices.

Considered a pastel tone, one way to include this color in an environment is to apply it as an accent color on fabrics of synthetic or natural fibers.

The more daring can use Neo Mint on their walls, in this case, it is interesting to keep the rest of the surfaces neutral, in order to avoid excessive information and highlight the tone of 2020. Another option is to play with different palettes, you can use items with variations of green (monochromatic) and have the union of tones like moss, olive or emerald.

The first appearance of this soft color was with Sies Marjan that showcased Neo Mint in its Fall 2017 collection. From there, mint has appeared on the Versus Versace Spring 2018 runway and on the Chanel Fall 2018 Haute Couture runway in the form of a sequin-trimmed jacket and maxi skirt. The Moschino Fall 2018 runway gave the color a Jackie Kennedy vibe.

The Annakiki Fall 2018 collection was one of the biggest promoters of the trend with a number of models wearing monochromatic mint outfits complete with coordinating lipstick.

On the street style front, Gigi Hadid dressed in a monochromatic outfit of the same shade. The lines of gender fashion aren’t as clear as they once were. Gender fluid fashion isn’t just a phase in fashion, but a compelling movement and a step toward the evolution.

The concepts of masculinity and femininity no longer define the clothing people wear and color can be a way of getting rid o f delimitations.

Color trends are always changing. In fashion, runway color trends reflect what consumers are buying and how society at large wants to look at a particular moment.

The bright green that promises to impact 2020 was elected by WGSN. From a fashion perspective, Mint embodies the drive towards tones that have gender-neutral appeal.

Despite the fact that many interior designers pass yellow as a difficult color to work it, yellow is easy to use as an complementary to other colors. It brings out the brightness of blues, greens, grey and even black – which is why many interior designers choose statement pieces to bring out the quality of the room.

Soft hues of yellow can often make your room look even bigger than it is, and it’s even possible to make the yellow stylish with stripes, patterns and more.

Pantone’s color choice for 2019 might be living coral, but Honey Yellow it’s the consumer’s favorite. The hue popped up on the spring ‘19 runways of Brandon Maxwell’s, Carolina Herrera’s and Oscar de la Renta’s collection meaning the soft shade will be everywhere next season.

The move towards all things yellow has been largely driven by the younger generation and been dubbed the next Millennial Pink.
