It’s Katelyn here, and the handsome man standing next to me is my support system aka my husband, Brandon. The precious little girl is my pride and joy, Hallie; and we are the Lakey’s. We are the family behind The Book of Beautiful Weddings. Behind the scenes, Brandon is my voice of reason, my cheerleader and biggest supporter. Hallie, is two and can often be seen running around during styled shoots or living her best life eating cake. I can honestly say that this publication has blessed our family in many ways, but mostly through the relationships we have gained. You see, we may be the family behind this magazine, but we are not in this alone. Each page of our publication is made up of the work of our Network Members. Our Network is made up of the most honest, genuine and talented vendors in Central Texas and I mean that with every ounce of my being. All of our Network Members are passionate about what they do and weddings are more to them than just a paycheck. Each wedding professional we work with strive to give their clients the wedding of their dreams.

Being a wedding vendor is not for the faint of heart. It’s hard work and long days but at the end of the day, it’s the most rewarding profession. Behind the scenes at every event is a team of vendors giving it their all so that their couple’s don’t have to stress and can truly enjoy their wedding day. Behind every event is a team of vendors who are spending their weekends away from their families to create magic for their clients.

Our work is heart work. And that is exactly what The Book of Beautiful Weddings is… we are a book displaying the work of our hearts. Our pages are filled with our Network Member’s ideas, creativity, hard work and you guessed it.. heart. The staff at Georgio’s Bridal in Waco are friendly and knowledgeable. Begin by calling to set up an appointment. Invite your best friends and closest family members or come alone and keep it a secret. Be sure to bring the type of shoes—whether heels, flats or boots—that you intend to wear at your

wedding. It doesn’t have to be the exact pair, but they need to be a similar height. Other essentials include nude panties and a strapless bra. If you have any questions call ahead. Once you’ve selected your gown, it will be ordered and you'll be notified once it comes in to set an appointment for alterations.

Bridal portraits may then be scheduled. Be sure to bring your dress back to the salon to be steamed and prepped prior to the wedding date.

8-11 MONTHS SAVE THE DATES

You're engaged and you've set a date! Now it's time to start thinking about save the dates. Send them out between 8-11 months before the wedding or even earlier if you’re planning a destination wedding or a wedding around a major holiday.

6 MONTHS ORDER WEDDING INVITATIONS

After you've sent out the save the dates, it's time to start deciding on your invitations. Plan to order your wedding invitations about six months before the wedding. If you want a custom design with assembly required, you may want to start the process sooner.

4-8 WEEKS MAIL WEDDING INVITATIONS

Plan to mail your wedding invitations out between 4-8 weeks before the wedding. If you're having a destination wedding or did not send out a save the date, you will want to send them out sooner than 8 weeks.

4-6 WEEKS ORDER DAY OF STATIONERY

As it gets closer to your wedding think about if you want to order other stationery items such as wedding programs, menu cards, signage and thank you cards for after the wedding.

1-4 MONTHS AFTER THE WEDDING SEND THANK YOU CARDS

Send thank you cards no later than 4 months after the wedding. The sooner the better.

BLAKE: I started DJing in 2002, so 17 years BRAYLON: I have been a DJ for 9 years! It’s crazy to think it’s been that

long but time goes by fast when you’re doing something you love. I have been exclusively in the wedding industry for 5 years. It’s definitely been a journey but one that’s beyond worth it!

JON: I’ve DJ’ed sporting events for 16 years and weddings for 6 years WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING A DJ?

BLAKE: I love getting to be a part of the best day of a couple’s life.

There is nothing better than getting to help create memories and experiences for our couples.

BRAYLON: I love when my preparation meets the opportunity clients give me. Nothing is better than prepping everything and absolutely

killing it day of. I am big on organization and staying prepped for any

crowd at anytime. When I speak of prepping it’s not formulating a set playlist, it’s having different genres, years, and types of music organized at my disposal for whenever I may need it.

JON: I love building lasting relationships with the clients with whom I

work. I also love learning about and participating in the wedding traditions unique to each nationality and culture. Even the planning stages

of the wedding are exciting as I get to listen to a couple’s dreams and

make them come true, as well as providing ideas from other weddings that that the couple might not have thought about.

BRAYLON: So many to choose from! I thrive on having the ability

to get everyone on the dance floor at the same time no matter the

age, race, or personal music preference. So I would say a few go

to artist for me are Bruno, ABBA, and Michael Jackson. But if I had

to pick one song to get it going or keep it going, it’ll have to be....

BLAKE: My business is unique because I am extremely passionate about making sure everyone at the event is having the time of their

life. I go the extra mile to find a way to mix the music in a way that appeals to every type of person in attendance.

BRAYLON: We aren’t like any other DJ company in this world! My style is unique to me, I don’t play typical “wedding” music. I don’t

have a set playlist of the same songs. You never know what you’re

going to get out of me because I truly read the crowd and execute

from there. I’m always looking for ways to make my service better for couples. While other djs and companies want to nickel and dime you for every penny I’m more interested in doing whatever it takes to get the perfect review! I’m just different, no other way to put it.

JON: I offer one of the largest arrays of dance floor lighting in

Central Texas. Each performance is accompanied by a computer programmed LED light show that I synchronize live to the music. I

provide a full white wash of light for the first dance and other important dances, with other settings to accommodate slow dances, excit-

ing party songs and everything in between. I also offer uplighting, custom monograms, Vegas-style special effect lighting and lighted dressings for the speaker and lighting stands.

Here are a few things you should know about booking vendors who are traveling for your wedding:

Don’t Assume Your Favorite Vendors Won’t Travel:

Most vendors will travel, so don’t miss out on working

Lodging: Most vendors have a lodging fee or clause
