Pantone Color of the Year: U ltra Violet Pantone chose this dramatic shade of purple to promote creativity and push boundaries with the limitless galaxy in mind. While perfect for modern weddings, brides are opting for more traditional uses of the shade tying it in through linens, florals, bridesmaid dresses and stationery. We are seeing a beautiful mix of lilacs and lavenders with pops of bolder purples. Designers like Watters (available at Georgio’s Bridal) are mixing cosmic-themed gowns into collections for the year to follow Pantone’s lead.

Family-style meals are all the rage: With fam ily-style meals, guests will be seated at tables topped with beautiful full place settings and platters and serving dishes will be delivered to their tables for a classy and conversational meal.

Butterflies were predicted to make a comeback in 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited to see this trend hit the scene. The staff at Georgio’s Bridal in Waco are friendly and knowledgeable. Begin by calling to set up an appointment. Invite your best friends and closest family members or come alone and keep it a secret. Be sure to bring the type of shoes—whether heels, flats or boots—you intend to wear at your wedding. It doesn’t have to be the exact pair, just a similar height. Other essentials include nude panties and a strapless bra. If you have any questions, call ahead. Once you’ve selected your gown, it will be ordered and you'll be notified once it comes in to set an appointment for alterations. Bridal portraits may then be scheduled. Be sure to bring your dress back to the salon to be steamed and prepped prior to the wedding date.

Deep V necklines and bottomless backs are in right now especially in ball gowns. These wedding gowns are sexy and sultry. When selecting your gown, be sure you will feel comfortable in front of all of your guests.

Go for color. When selecting a gown, consider going with a nontraditional color. Traditionally wedding gowns were white, but over the years brides have been choosing hints of color. Find the color that works for you and your wedding.

WHAT TYPE OF MEAL YOU WANT: If you're planning to feed guests steak and lobster with Instagram-worthy mini hors d'oeuvres as opposed to a pasta buffet or BBQ, expect to spend more per person on the meal.

IMAGINE BUYING YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY DINNER AT A RESTAURANT: Wedding catering is similar to eating out, but unlike visiting a restaurant, your

WHY HIRE A tabc certified bartender AND WHERE TO FIND THEM TABC Certified bartenders: Most venues require TABC certified bartenders to serve alcohol at

events. Not only does TABC certification release liability of over-served or intoxicated guests, professional bartenders maker for a fun night of cocktails and cold beer.

WHO TO HIRE: Certain venues have bartenders and alcohol can be purchased through them. For venues which don't sell alcohol, bartenders are best hired through your caterer. They set up and handle clean up plus can also help you determine quantities and purchase alcohol on your own through liquor stores.

Vintage oaks ranch: Vintage Oaks Ranch is well known for their space, but they offer home-cooked, Southern comfort food at its finest. While the venue does allow

outside catering, their on site menu is delicious and affordable. In addition, Joy Minix is a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

BaYLOR CLUB: Baylor Club is not only a venue but a prestigious private club with

CHOOSING A CEREMONY SITE Before booking a venue, consider the style of wedding you hope to have. Would you prefer to be married indoors or outdoors? Some venues suit a variety of styles and have multiple ceremony site options as seen here with Lilly Pond. The Phoenix Ballroom boasts a brick fireplace as well. Tying in with farmhouse trends, Market at the Mill offers sweet shiplap or rustic tin backdrops, and Vintage Oaks has cool vintage doors plus a railroad tie arbor. Central Texas offers a vast array of natural outdoor ceremony site options including settings beneath large oaks, with waterfront views, in romantic fields and against backdrops of rolling hills. La Rio Mansion is well known for ceremonies under a giant oak or beneath the stone drive. The Venue by Inn on the Creek is situated alongside historic Salado Creek offering a beautiful creekside scenery.

HOW SEATING AFFECTS THE STYLE OF YOUR WEDDING The type of seating you choose will have a large impact on the style and feel of your ceremony. Venues La Rio Mansion and The Phoenix Ballroom offer formal seating, beautiful fruitwood Chiavari chairs perfect for elegant, romantic weddings.
