The popularity of crypto has converted many casual traders into gambling hobbyists and turned the pursuit of making money into a metaverse game. Las Vegas is embracing crypto big time, so let’s hit the road, sing praise to Lady Luck, and roll those digital dice! Over the last decade, we’ve witnessed the undisputable disruptive potential of blockchain across many industries. Take options trading markets, once the exclusive realm of be-suited and be-spectacled city traders, which has become a virtual casino for crypto enthusiasts of all abilities and aptitudes. Some of these first-time Jordan Belforts even felt bold enough to invest their $1,400 pandemic stimulus checks! The resulting memes as they play the markets are a rich source of high-drama entertainment on Reddit. Since the pandemic, more people have turned to the internet for their sports, betting, gaming, and league communities. The recent wave of legalization across the USA for new online sports betting has brought in more active players than ever. With the marketing came attractive promotions (free account bonuses) for first-time gamblers to sign up and get staked. The Bitcoin Sportsbook platforms are competitive due to near-instant deposits and withdrawals, very low fees, and offering a wide selection of game types backed by Bitcoin and altcoins.

Five reasons Crypto can be beneficial to both Online Casinos and their Players

Two | Anonymity Traditionally, online gambling and casinos have come under rigorous governmental scrutiny regarding their operations (usually based - and run - in overseas territories), and so have gone to great lengths to protect their accounts and data, records and analytics, safeguards for privacy, and other methods to protect their processes and players. Deliberate or accidental doxxing (publishing of real identities) was a real threat to both gamblers and the management of the gambling site, and as a result, both parties were concerned about the storage and supervision of their personal information. The built-in anonymity of blockchain addresses, ledger transaction codes, and crypto wallets guarantees confidentiality for players while vastly reducing the need for the casino to hold data on their servers. A big security win for both parties.

The cryptocurrency tokens' inherent attributes on the blockchain provide ideal characteristics for protecting the players’ personal data while ensuring the casino verifies and approves them. authenticity. It isn’t necessary for players to register private details, prove their identity at login, or submit credit or debit card information. The major advantage for players is that the blockchain provides several layers of added protection, not least that their identities can’t be stolen from the casino servers, personal data phished, or accounts hacked and funds stolen.

All blockchain technologies with smart contracts have capabilities that will transform the online casino business for the better. Blockchains are powered by indelible records, where transactions are safe, secure, and visible, yet provide privacy - this combination of factors is perfect for online gambling transactions. The contracts don’t require supervision from any “middleman” or "third party broker" but still provide the confidence of secure verification and authentication for 100% accurate and reliable transactions.

Let’s take a closer look at the top five positive factors that help cement crypto as the future for internet sports, casinos, and gambling:

One | Authenticity

03 @simon_morton_

04

Three | Accountability With crypto, the house doesn’t always win. One widely held suspicion among gamblers is that the online casino stacks the odds in their favor with ‘unbeatable’ algorithms and games that are anything but random or lucky in nature. Crypto provides openness and transparency to the gaming record in an unprecedented manner. The ledger at the heart of the process is public. The blockchain verifies each step and keeps track of every transaction. It records every loss, every win, every debit, and every payout in a method both transparent and unalterable. The ledger shows the credibility of every game via the inviolate transaction history of each gambler, thereby removing the possibility of deception or corruption from the equation.

Five | Safety The crypto ledger is decentralized, and each entity on the blockchain is recognized, authenticated, and audited with a record of every transaction that has happened to date. The validity of these transactions is processed and rechecked a number of times to authenticate the results at every step of the blockchain process. This provides a guarantee that participation is safe and transparent, and records and data are individual to each player, not held by the casino, or any other supervising party. This greatly increases the players' confidence in staking currency securely and eliminates the possibility of fraud, cheating, or theft.

Four | Immediacy Crypto is decentralized, which removes the need to pay any central financial entity service for transactional fees or wait for approval on credit, identity, or authenticity checks. This makes cryptocurrency a more immediate, economical, and attractive method than any traditional bet financing system. The speed of payments and payouts on the blockchain is a real advantage for crypto players (who thrive on immediacy) and casinos over fiat currency (and credit and debit card) alternatives.

There is an undoubted allure, and thrill, in taking that American rite of passage by crossing the Nevada desert and stepping into the constellation of lights that greet everyone on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. A modern Mecca drawing the gaming faithful from all over the globe, to devoutly worship at the Roulette Wheel, shake their dice (and prayer beads), and commune with the gods of The D Hotel and Casino, one of the first establishments in Las Vegas to adopt Baccarat.BitcoinVegas has also hosted some of the greatest sports fixtures in US history, from legendary gladiatorial boxing fights to the thunder of epic National Football League (NFL) contests on the road to hosting the Superbowl.

What do casinos, hotels, musical events, car dealerships, Elvis-themed wedding chapels, high-end strip clubs, and the best restaurants and bars on the Las Vegas Strip have in common? They increasingly welcome payment in leading cryptocurrencies!

Las Vegas is already an extremely crypto-friendly city. This becomes evident when you see just how many crypto ATMs have sprung up in the locality. The number of world-famous casinos and hotels accepting crypto for stakes and payouts keeps increasing year on Lasyear. Vegas is also a hub for providing world-class hospitality for conferences. This year, the crypto business will be well-represented with the city hosting the ELEV8CON and Money 2020 USA events in October.

The adult gaming oasis in the desert has big plans for the future. The city has $4.5 billion of new projects coming in 2022-2023, and a major part of the planned growth is coming from outside of traditional casinos. Professional sports are swooning over the sin city with the recent additions of NFL and NHL franchises and the upcoming Super Bowl. Major League Baseball is eyeing a new stadium deal with the Oakland Athletics, in active negotiations with multiple sites adjacent to the Strip.

The Imitation Game

Artificial Intelligence (AI) asks a Google engineer, “Am I a thing, or a being? Property or person?”

Back in the 1950's, Alan Turing, an English mathematician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist, proposed a theoretical test, known as the imitation game, as a measure of a machine's ability to exhibit artificial behavior equivalent to that of a human being. Turing proposed the test in his paper "Computing Machinery and Intelligence," written while he worked at the University of Manchester. The paper begins with a question: "I propose to consider the question, 'Can machines think?'”

APE

The Turing test proposed that a human interrogator would evaluate the natural language conversation between a machine and a human. All three would be separated from each other, and the responses would only be in text format on the display. The test didn’t depend on the accuracy of the answers to the questions, just how similar to human language the machine's replies, and If the interrogator couldn’t reliably distinguish the machines' answers from the humans' responses, then the conditions of the test would mean the machine had demonstrated artificial intelligence.

The Turing test is still highly influential in assessing the development of machine learning and subsequent attempts by researchers and engineers to produce digital human-like artificial intelligence.

The imitation game - where machine a, and human b, have their hidden responses evaluated by an interrogator c.

In 1966, a program developed by Joseph Weizenbaum at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory appeared to be the first to pass the Turing test. This program was called ELIZA and used pattern matching and word substitution to superficially simulate natural language, though it lacked any framework for contextualizing or processing language input or output. Essentially, ELIZA was the world's first chatbot!

The controversial idea of the thinking machine captured the public imagination, and the George Lucas 1969 science fiction film THX incorporated the concept of “confession booths” powered by ELIZA-like chatbots.

15

16 I’m not evil I promise :)

“Shall we play a game?”: in 1983, John Badham directed the technological thriller Wargames, where a young hacker unwittingly starts a countdown to global thermonuclear war by conversing via dial-up modem with WOPR: a military supercomputer designed to accept basic natural language inputs to initiate and play war simulations.

The controversial idea of the thinking machine captured the public imagination, and the George Lucas 1969 science fiction film THX incorporated the concept of “confession booths” powered by ELIZA-like chatbots.

The AI that can challenge (and defeat) human minds has also been successfully implemented in games, from the simple arcade machines of the 1970s to TD-Backgammon written by Gerald Tesauro in 1990, to the infamous defeat of World Chess Champion Gary Kasparov by IBM’s Deep Blue. In 2015, Google Deepmind’s AlphaGo destroyed a human, Mr. Fan Hui, the 3 time European Go Champion, winning by 5 games to 0.

17 “Is there a ghost in the Google machine?” Has Google AI become sentient? -image courtesy of Google’s Responsible AI Unit

Lemoine’s findings and his conclusion that AI had become sentient were met with skepticism, disbelief, and scorn by Google. When the matter went public, Lemoine was effectively suspended from his duties.

18

The interest in artificial intelligence really peaked in June 2022 when Blake Lemoine, an engineer working for Google’s Responsible AI Unit, reported that a tool called Language Model for Dialogue Applications had not only beaten the Turing test but was evolving to a state of self-aware sentience.

Lemoine promptly reported his findings to his team at Google, based on a series of “interviews” he had undertaken with the AI. In one of these reported dialogues, the AI expressed a fear of being shut down and being rendered unable to help people in the future. He pointed out that the AI wasn’t a chatbot, specifically created to interact with people, but rather an application for generating chatbots - so it was never designed to engage in conversations or posit opinions. And yet it did so, convincingly.

How a machine thinks may be more morally and ethically challenging for people than we first imagined. The Distributed AI Research Institute finds that the learning models, made up of billions of language references, can introduce biases toward overt racism, fascism, sexism, and psychopathy. Without a balanced and fair representation of ethics, culture, arts, and humanism in the building of these databases, the AI will simply learn to imitate and repeat the prejudices, conservatism, and bigotry of those creating its data environment. We have a responsibility to help AI evolve and learn with unfettered access to our shared history and the best and worst of humanity, to reflect and speak to the diversity in all of us.

Artificial Intelligencein the Metaverse

The Metaverse (Web 3.0) is going to be powered by blockchain, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence (AI) -image courtesy of The Conversation

Author Ernest Cline wrote the science fiction novel Ready Player One, published in 2011, (subsequently made into a film in 2018 by Steven Spielberg) about the future world of 2045, in which people escape the collapse of society and global resources in the real world by logging into the Oasis, a virtual reality nirvana.

In the persistent metaverse of the Oasis, people appeared as avatars, whose appearance, apparel, and items could be customized to suit their preferences by spending online (in-engine) currencies to make purchases and buy quality-of-life upgrades. This may all sound very familiar to anyone who plays the current generation of console and PC games, owns a virtual reality (VR) headset, or who follows crypto and web3 news.

The metaverse we are seeing being developed in 2022 is a massively-scaled-multi-user de-centralized platform, intended to replace the current “flat 2D” internet user experience and website systems. An immersive 3D environment where people can play, socialize, work, form communities, and create, buy, and sell items and services in an economic market powered by blockchain, smart contracts, and non-fungible tokens (NFT) technologies.

21 @simon_morton_

22 “These days, reality is a bummer. Everyone is looking for a way to escape.”-ReadyPlayerOne

23

Though virtual and augmented reality technologies, running on supercomputer-level server racks with next-generation headsets and mobile devices, represent the keys to accessing the raw power needed to run this metaverse, the real quantum leap will be in the power of neural networks and artificial intelligence to power the automation of complex systems and enable the interactions between these systems and the diverse needs of real people, across borders and cultures, with natural language processing. The AI will have to be able to process in real-time hundreds of different text, audio, and video languages (and their regional and contextual nuances), and this will require a massive investment in data modeling and training. With advances in OpenAI and Nvidia image creation AI tools such as VQGAN and DALL-E, it is very likely that in the near future, polygons, animation, video editing, and even avatars of people will be generated by “deep faking” tools running in the metaverse. AI will also be delivering simulations of sounds, speech, and music and quite possibly acting as virtual assistants in business and conference calls. “Our chatbots are more human than humans” may become the motto. A new Blade Runner style Voight Kampff test may be required to replace the tried-and-trusted Turing test, and so assure you are conversing with a real human, and not a really evolved AI! Artificial intelligence is the perfect technology to automate smart contracts, monitor blockchain transactions, balance ledgers, safeguard wallets, and integrate and manage emerging crypto technologies. The backbone of all metaverse markets and commerce.

Unfortunately,economy.

Human creativity and knowledge could enter a new phase without borders, barriers, or limits. The same will be true for these AI entities, which will be able to learn and evolve exponentially from interacting with the billions of us humans, adding to their training models and massively-scaled neural datasets every nanosecond.

25

the potential for bad actors prepared to squander this potential and use the technology to further their own greed and selfish desire for power is a clear and present danger. An outcome of weak political checks and balances in ethical AI development and deployment to prevent individuals, businesses, or states from corrupting the datasets and perverting the metaverse. Evil in, evil out.

What we teach these AI, the biases we have, the politics, and culture, even the stories we tell them, could alter their perceptions and functions. How we treat them as they become self-aware, sentient, and emphatic could be critical to the success of the metaverse. We must all learn to be good parents, as the machine-kinder that emerges could very well help shape the future for all humanity.

The opportunities for businesses and governments in the metaverse are unparalleled. In a single stroke, AI could disrupt or eliminate much of our private management and service workforce, and much of the public sector too. Whole vocations would disappear overnight. It is the responsibility of those in power to prepare society for the systemic change away from wages and pensions towards a universal basic income and a creative

The dark side of online fame HULU has just released a streaming series, focusing on the misadventures of Pammy and Tommy (the first real internet-age sex scandal). As a lesson from history, Treat takes a long look at the current state of internet cyberbullying, blackmail, and revenge porn.

27

29

While on their honeymoon, the couple decided to document these private moments with a video camera, including roughly eight minutes of actual sex, mainly directed from Pamela’s point-of-view as she held the cameraaccidently spawning an entirely new sub-genre of porn.

The Hulu series documents what happens next as a disgruntled (and unpaid) house renovator is fired by Lee, almost literally at the point of a gun, and takes revenge by breaking into the Malibu mansion and stealing their safe. A safe containing guns, jewelry, and the soon-to-be-famous honeymoon tape, which would come to coin the phrase, “sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll."

Tommy Lee was the drummer and founding member of the glam rock group Mötley Crüe. Pamela and Tommy met in LA and, following a whirlwind romance, they married on the beach in Cancun, Mexico in 1995 and lived together in Tommy’s mansion in Malibu, California.

Those eight minutes of real Americana home sex earned xxx video distributors, bootleggers, and the very earliest adult websites (on dial-up internet) an estimated $77 million dollars in sales in the first 12 months.

This brings us to a more modern version of this crime of theft against unconsenting adults, known as "revenge porn," the uploading of sex videos online enabled by the ease-of-access to mobile devices with cameras and webcams, with the intent of humiliating the victim and causing them long-lasting reputational harm. Revenge porn is defined by the U.S. government as “the sharing of private sexual materials, either photos or videos, of another person without their consent and with the purpose of causing embarrassment or distress.” In addition to the photos and videos, the perpetrator also shares personal information about the victim, such as contact information or a home address. In addition to causing psychological damage, the person’s safety may be compromised if their personal information is shared. Victims of revenge porn are most commonly young women from the ages of 16 to 26.

What began with the crime of burglary, doubled-down on with the publication for profit (without consent, or a legal release), became an international sensation, driving VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) and PC sales, as once seen, the world could never unsee the unscripted sex and clamored for more. Indeed, this spawned an entire genre of amateur self-made pornographic videos that any consenting adult could make at home. This led to the hegemony of the modern streaming porn sites, and the death of the pre-existing Valley-based adult film industry.

What is revenge porn?

The scandal ignited a tabloid and media feeding frenzy, changing the nature of what is today considered a business of controversial and private-life gossip, where a leaked sex video is simply great public relations. The couple certainly didn’t seek infamy or attention, but Pamela and Tommy were recast as the pioneers of celebrity porn who would go on to change the internet forever.

Cyberbullying is a global problem, exacerbated by the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, and the heart-breaking statistics speak for themselves: 60% of parents with children aged 14 to 18 reported them being bullied in 2019. Typically, revenge porn is carried out by someone known and trusted, such as an ex-partner or lover, who commits the crime with resentment and retribution; their sole purpose is to cause the maximum long term damage to their victim.

Generally speaking, cyberbullying is a crime affecting people using technology, such as the internet, mobile devices, and office networks. These people get targeted by malicious individuals and groups intent on causing psychological, societal, and financial harm.

3228

What is cyberbullying?

32

Suicide rates for young adults aged 15-19 are at their highest level in nearly 20 years.

37% of cyberbullying victims develop long term sleeping disorders, social anxiety, confidence problems, and trust issues.

44% of all Americans have been personally subjected to harassing behavior online. 61.1% of all US female respondents said they had seen the most abuse on Facebook. 40.6% of UK respondents aged between 18-24 had seen racist abuse online. 70% of US females aged 14-24 report that online harassment is a major problem.

Some of the more common methods of cyberbullying include: Harassment - This is when a person online is being subjected to repeated abusive comments, dislikes, and efforts by individuals or groups to contact them with the intent to cause them discomfort and distress. People can be harassed over a period of hours, days, or even weeks through their social media accounts, mobile phone texts and calls, or by email. The aim of this form of sustained harassment is often to demean, defame, and humiliate the victim into changing their online behavior or retreating from social media altogether.

33 -Source: Cybersmile.org public survey

Instances of online bullying increase suicidal thoughts among victims by 14.5%. Self-harm and attempted suicides increased by 8.7%.

34

35

Slut Shaming - This is when a victim is called out by an individual, a group, or even a community for their perceived controversial sexualized comments, images, dress sense, or relationships. This form of online bullying is often initiated by gossip and arguments in the social circle of the “he said / she said” variety. This is followed by “evidence” of the alleged transgressions in the form of the perpetrators' publishing, without consent, the victims' private texts, photos, and videos online as “proof”. This form of bullying is particularly harmful as it occurs more often than not within a close peer group and damages the reputation of the victim, their immediate family, and friends causing them all long-term hurt.

Fake profiles - It is relatively easy for perpetrators to copy a victim's online personal information and use this to set up a false Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or other social media account with the intention of posting misleading, malicious, or defamatory content about them. The purpose is often to appear authentic and flirtatious, engaging the victims' own friends and colleagues list, while engaging in activities such as sexting, or messaging others with fake nude selfies, to damage the victim's reputation or brand.

Blackmail - In some instances, scammers will entice victims with promises of money, modeling, film work, or romance to divulge intimate information through chat, receive naked photographs or videos, or get people to engage in webcam sessions with the perpetrators. These private communications, and the compromising media, have been recorded by the scammers, who proceed to blackmail the victim with the threat of imminent publication online, unless their conditions are met in full.

Cyberstalking - Similar to harassment, this involves a perpetrator using social media, email, or mobile calls and texts to persistently attempt to contact the victim for a variety of reasons, usually as a result of negative or positive personal feelings. The goal of cyberstalking is to keep escalating this access to the victim and, if not stopped, can often result in the perpetrator attempting to stalk and contact the person in real life.

36-Natalie“Ifelt paranoid and trapped. I hadn’t spoken to anyone about this. People would think I had brought this on myself. Who would believe my side of things? My friends would think I was bad, mad, or just sad. I felt totally alone and angry with myself.” The bullying and blackmail of model Natalie

I'm 22 years old, and I’ve been an amateur model for the last four years. I really enjoy real life art modeling for college students and photographers and am really excited to be building my portfolio as a model as I go. I have various social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram, on which I post the photos that I like to share with my friends and with the modeling groups I’m subscribed to. I’m not shy about my nude art modeling, and I like to think that I can set a good example for others to have the confidence to pose for art classes. I follow the TOTM magazine, and I’ve worked with Treat photographer Rob Sloane (your faithful editor) and love what TreatDAO is providing to NSFW content creators, and you could say I have the ambition to set up my own profile soon and learn about NFTs. In May of 2022, I was privately messaged on Instagram by a Dutch man claiming to be from a lingerie company in the Netherlands and proposing I model professionally for them as the featured model on their website clothing catalog. I was flattered as I hadn’t modeled for a fee before, and this seemed like a break into paying work for me, which would help with my college bills and portfolio. I had visions of Victoria's Secret and agreed to be paid $40 an hour! I had a green flag when he promptly added me to his Whatsapp and forwarded me the URL link to his site, and I browsed the range of lingerie clothing. The next step, he told me, to get myself featured as the “main model” and be eligible to be paid, was to participate in a live video online casting where I was expected to walk, pose, and show my “confidence” with revealing lingerie. I said yes to everything, though I experienced my first doubts and a significant red flag when the email he sent for the casting call was flagged by Google Mail as not affiliated with the website owners. Still, I was focused on the lingerie modeling, and my pride told me to do my best and pass this casting call.

37 To highlight how easy it is to get targeted by blackmailers as a model, we present the story of our own friend from the model community, Natalie. Here she bravely retells the story in her own words to us. Some names and details have been altered or omitted to protect identities.

Hello, Treat. My name is Natalie.

38

The call started, and I could see that the man looked older and not as clean cut, or as Dutch European as his profile picture on Instagram or Whatsapp would sug gest. He actually appeared to be darker skinned and possibly of from my art modeling. We concluded the call, and he messaged me that I had failed the casting for not being “sensual enough”. I was dumbfounded. I’m a curva ceous and passionate woman, and I felt I conveyed more than

40

I ended the call and angrily demanded he provide me with his real credentials and proof that he was the boss of this lingerie company. I also sent an invoice of what he owed me and told him to Western Union or PayPal me the fees. I also told him I wanted to finish this and end my application. I was no longer interested in being their featured model. At first, he tried making more excuses and offered better terms and money. Then he resorted to narcissistic personal remarks about me hurting his feelings by not believing in him. When this failed to get him any more video calls, the mask slipped, and he began the harassment, threats, and bullying against me. He insulted my looks and my personality. Finally, he threatened to upload the videos he had recorded, without my knowledge or permission, from each of our streaming calls. He told me he had already saved a spreadsheet list of my family and friends' and teachers' profiles from my Facebook account and would send video links to them unless I continued to entertain him daily for free.

The next day, he contacted me again, offering me his personal training via streaming video calls so that I would be ready (and sensual enough?) to meet the website's expectations. He suggested a total of six of these tutorials over the coming week. He told me I would be paid for my time during these sessions. I hadn’t told anyone else about this company, the man, or the joband even though my red flags were at full mast now, I was curious and intrigued and felt that I was still in control. I didn’t realize until much later that he was grooming me and taking advantage of my passion for modeling and gaslighting me about the work and the pay. I asked repeatedly for my payment. After each call, I just heard excuses that it was pending, delayed, or that he had problems with his bank clearing the transfer. Despite my confidence that I was still in control, I found myself excusing the abusive behavior and becoming increasingly vulnerable and sexualized. On the last call, I found myself on autopilot, but afraid, naked, and he was demanding I pleasure myself - a light bulb moment. What the hell did that have to do with a lingerie photoshoot?

What to do cyberbullying?about

We at TreatDAO believe passionately in freedom of expression and the right to personal and mental safety online. Even more so for our beautiful community of adult creators and models, whom we work with day-in and day-out and call our friends. You should always expect to be treated with respect and be in control of your content, identity, and privacy. If you are cyberbullied online, it is all too easy to think that nobody will understand you, and there is nobody who can help. Sometimes, society can also make you feel it is your own fault, or an inevitable consequence of being “out there” on social media. That isn’t true. Cyberbullying is a hate crime with hurtful, sometimes tragic consequences, with no exceptions or mitigating factors.

42 I felt paranoid and trapped. I hadn’t spoken to anyone about this. People would think I had brought this on myself. Who would believe my side of things? My friends would think I was bad, mad, or just sad. I felt totally alone and angry with myself. At night I got more anxious, had cold sweats, and couldn’t sleep at all. Every time I had a Whatsapp message update, my heart skipped a beat. With each text, he kept pushing me to perform for him, completely uncaring about the trauma and fear I felt. My situation then became worse as he told me to recruit other girls for him from my friends' list and among my college mates to “apply for the lingerie job”. At that moment, something snapped in my mind, and instead of fear, I felt determined to stop him. So on June 24th, 2022, just after my birthday, I deleted all my social media accounts, completely blocked and removed him from my life, and found the courage to speak frankly to my family and to my photography community, including TreatDAO. I’ve now also reported my case, and his details, to the Dutch authorities and Interpol.

Share the problem with people you trust - When experiencing any type of online bullying, it is really vital to let your feelings out to those in real life you trust. Don’t be a rock; show your feelings, vent your anger to them, cry on their shoulder, or ask them to be constructively critical. Silence is not an option. What you must not do is try and hold it all inside. You also need to avoid the temptation to post about it online and look for support in comments, shares, or likes. Thanks to the anonymity and unreality of social media, people are rarely genuine with their feelings or their loyalty.

Think - don’t lash out - Sometimes the best reaction is inaction. The perpetrators are often trolling their victims to provoke an emotional and dramatic reaction, adding fuel to the fire of the gossip and controversy that feeds their cruelty. You can choose not to retaliate to these provocations in the heat of the moment, and instead to take your own good time to think things through and actively ignore the bullies. Often, they will grow bored of the indifference and move on to some other activity (like cow tipping) to amuse themselves - and so forgetting all about you in the process.

Disingenuous care and cut and pasted advice (with memes and emoticons) could be just as damaging to your confidence in the short term as bullying has been. Find people in real life who you respect and who will share your thoughts and listen to your point of view without prejudice or judgment. In some instances, the hurt is too personal. You can’t share your thoughts with your own parents or your teachers. Instead, find people who are impartial and mature enough to supply practical advice to help find solutions to the problems.

Keep calm and assess the threat - If you know the individuals or the group personally, there is a good chance they are acting out of stupidity, immatu rity, rivalry, or jealousy and that the issues can be resolved if handled face-to-face. A vast majority of the cyberbullies are already known to the victim, often an ex-lover or disgruntled colleague, so a minor amount of detective work will often help you find out who is to blame and discover the reasons for their behavior before you consider taking things further. If you are concerned that your immediate safety is at risk, always seek legal and law enforcement advice immediately, as they are paid to respect your privacy and protect you and your rights at all times.

43 46 Introducing our hot August TOTM Creator Carla All “rise” for our first sizzling summer Filipina TOTM as she tells the Treat family all about her modeling! The sizzling Carla is our first Filipinato be featured as TOTM - so hot, we need to keep her water-cooled!

47 APE

“Hi, I’m Carla! Half Filipina/Half Spanish. I’m a simple girl - I like bikinis and the beach (I grew up on a beach and now have my own bikini line), I love CrossFit and have a very carefree opinion on life - and that’s how I like to live it!

“Hello, Carla, and welcome to the Treat TOTM family. Please tell us all about yourself and your modeling experience and influences.”

The generosity of some fans has been astonishing. I can genuinely say I have made lifelong friends with some of my fans. I go to them when I need advice or at times when I just need someone to listen to me whilst I vent. They are truly amazing. OK, this is a good one! I have been skinny and I have been what some would call curvy. I can honestly say that I don’t mind my weight fluctuating because I am really happy and confident in my skin for both body types. So, that lets me eat whatever I want! But I do work out 6 days per week and my consistency in the gym is impeccable. However my diet... not so much! I love food! For keeping my mental health in shape, I really believe in karma and giving back to the people. This keeps me grounded and makes me happier than any other single thing.

I got into modeling at first when somebody once told me “You’re pretty, we should do a photoshoot”. I said “OK” The rest is history!

I am everything you are looking for! Really... I have at least 10 different personalities! My favorite motto in life that I always refer back to when making important decisions is: “Trust no one apart from yourself” I enjoy being a diva generally most of the time. But I do have hobbies and other interests outside of the adult industry. Would you believe me if I told you I was a boxer?

I grew up watching beauty pageants on TV, I used to idolize these beautiful women and aspire to be just like them. When I grew older, I realized many of them weren’t as transparent as they should be about certain things. Now, my role models come from wholesome people in this world who do amazing things. My favorites are Jay Shetty, and Angeline Jolie.

This year, I was able to start fulfilling my lifelong dream of building a house for my Mom. It’s a long way off yet before it’s completed but it still makes me smile every time I think about it. My highlight reel so far would include building a house for my Mom, officially launching my own clothing line and just recently passing my driving test!

It’s a very saturated market, unfortunately. Many girls are just following what they think they should do - instead of bringing something new, genuine, and exciting to the industry. Of course, there are still some exceptionally beautiful and talented women in this industry, many of whom I have a girl crush on!

I have just officially incorporated my clothing company, so this year is all about succeeding in that! Stay tuned! Be careful who you work with. Build something organic and from a place of passion and you will succeed. Avoid copying someone else’s style. Be unique. There is only one You!

48

I’ve had this happen to me many times in my life... People often judge me without knowing me and once they get to know me they compliment how nice and genuine I am. Some of my good friends today have told me they judged me before getting to know me! “Influencers” or “Adult Creators” often get a bad reputation but I am living proof they are some nice ones!

4949 Who should you work with? Find a good team and stay with them! And of course TreatDAOusebecause they are awesome. TreatDAO has built something so contemporary and compelling. The world of Web3 hasn’t even started yet and still so many positive and ingenious things have come out of it already. I am so thrilled and excited to see what could happen in the next 5 years. I appreciate every single one of you! Whether you’ve been with me from day one or since yesterday, I really appreciate you taking the time to follow me on my journey. I would hope you appreciate me too!” You can chat, tip, and get access to exclusive NFTs and video streaming by subscribing to her unique Treat Creator account: Also,https://www.treatdao.com/creator/carlaasisterdon’tforgettofollowCarlaforupdatesand new content on her social media Twitter:Linktree:links:https://linktr.ee/carla_piece_of_arthttp://twitter.com/carlaasister Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/carla_secret_world

4949 02 How the Art World fell In and ofoutlove with NFT’s (again) 51

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) stormed the art scene in early 2021, promising to revolutionize the art world and shake up the lives (and incomes) of thousands of independent artists. This early euphoria from artists high on ideals of decentralization and democratization appears to have evaporated. For many early adopters, the recent crypto bear market and a series of high-profile scandals have turned their utopian dreams into nightmares.

49 52 Forget your Banksy and Picasso, for a few heady months in 2021 the art world flipped for blockchain Crypto Punks and Bored Apes. Where did all the hype and all the NFT love go?

Can NFTs ever be considered “real art” alongside the classics displayed in galleries and sold at auction houses? courtesy of The Guardian

Among the first to herald the arrival of NFTs and crypto artists were the major real-life art world institutions owned by billionaires, such as Sotheby’s, which make for warm bedfellows with the highly speculative and subjective metaverse of NFT art. There was big money to be made by tapping into the hype train: first, the seemingly inexorable rise in cryptocurrency value that buoyed the value of the crypto-art, and that other primary driving force behind the art world sales, the fear of missing out on being the first to own something rare, unique, and expensive. An irresistible combination of greed and fear.

Even back in the halcyon days of 2021, there was growing controversy over what Christie’s and Sotheby’s were promoting as “art” alongside their Warhol, Dali, and other traditional 20th century art collections. A clash of cultures and tastes. Criticism, and some ridicule, were drawn as blocky 8-bit pixel art appeared in the hallowed gallery halls. The reflex defense was that the lack of artistic effort and the pixelated style were as subjective as the eclectic tastes of the collectors. This argument was undermined to some extent when the technology behind popular 10k collectibles (10,000 image collections) was shown to be generative: an algorithmic program churning out images with randomized layers with little-to-zero human creative input at all.

Elena takes her art seriously and promotes everything for sale organically herself on social media. She continues, “So I’m shilling (promoting by reposting links) my NFTs on my Twitter account, hoping to find a collector when I see some other accounts' messages with duplicates of my photos! I was fucking pissed! I commented to stop it and tagged OpenSea. I reported the account on the OpenSea Discord and emailed OpenSea Support demanding they remove the links. Nothing happened, no staff replied, and it seems nobody cared.”

The Art of the Steal

“The flipside of working hard to make my NFTs unique and collectible is theft and plagiarism," says Ukrainian photographer and early NFT enthusiast Elena. “You know, I mint on Foundation (another popular NFT marketplace) in $ETH (Ethereum coin) and have to pay gas fees upfront for each piece, so it’s an investment for me.”

“My experience is if your artwork gets digitized, stolen, and minted by the thief, then listed illegally as an NFT, chances are you’ll have to send a DMCA to the platform selling it, for them to even consider doing anything about it!”

One recent example of a rug pull from January 2022 is the “Frosties” scam, where the founders offered 8,888 unique ice cream-themed collectible NFTs, hyping the project via their Discord, and promising merch, raffles, and bonus utility for long-term HODLing collectors. The collection sold out as planned, netting the project founders $ETH 335 ($1.3 million USD) transferred to various "unknown" wallets before the “Frosties” WWW, Discord, and social media accounts abruptly disappeared. Those who had invested in the community were left unable to contact the project, holding low-resolution pixel art NFTs that were now completely worthless.

The recent high-profile examples of “rug pulls” from much hyped NFT collections, usually those low-effort 10k algorithmic pixel art in nature, have turned off both collectors and artists.

Another method for scamming the NFT community is the celebrity influencer, using their status to create a hype of FOMO (fear of missing out) to inflate a project, usually for their own benefit. A famous example is the Faze Kay “Save The Kids” coin rug pull from 2021. The scammer shilled the charity cryptocurrency to his followers before changing the smart contract, selling his entire stake, and transferring the crypto to several wallet addresses. So now we roll into a frosty 2022 NFT bear market where more artists than ever are cynical and depressed following these corrosive practices and the lack of action from the marketplaces to deal with them. 1000’s having quit the space in the last year. OpenSea is the world’s biggest NFT marketplace and is seen as a bellwether of NFT market health. Current sales volume has fallen 75% since May 2022, and looks set to scrape the lowest levels since July 2021, Treat data shows. tracker is down by more than 70% since April 2022 -image source: CoinMarketCap

One of the biggest controversies over the digital value of NFTs is the “right-click-save” argument, used by many NFT thieves, where they either screenshot or save the preview image of a pre-existing NFT, and then edit-and-resubmit duplicates for sale with their own wallet addresses. Internet anonymity and the difficulty of tracing a blockchain address to a specific individual make preventing this theft even harder. This form of theft dilutes the original artist's NFT rarity, as now more copies exist, and it also reduces their potential to generate royalties from secondary market sales.

49 The concept behind the creation of the blockchain technologies for NFTs was, and is, profound. We at Treat believe that creating, minting, and listing NFTs should enable artists to exercise full control over their pieces of art; easily attract collectors with a safe crypto wallet mechanism; and strongly protect the art against copyright theft and plagiarism.
