Message from matt Starting the new year on a strong note, we are excited to share the latest edition of Our Treasury! As we reflect on the months behind us and look ahead to all that’s to come, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the incredible staff across our department. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment each day are what make our office truly exceptional. This edition is filled with memorable moments and exciting highlights from across the department. Our team had the opportunity to visit elementary schools throughout Riverside County to read Investing in Each Other, a financial literacy comic book featuring the Black Panther character, helping to inspire the next generation. We also celebrated Employee Appreciation with a little friendly competition during our Shamrock Challenge. Be sure to check out all our amazing winners! In addition, take a look at the photos from our end-of-year party. Thank you to our Fiscal Team who graciously organized an absolutely stellar event! I hope you enjoy this edition of Our Treasury and take pride in the many accomplishments and moments that continue to make our department such a special place to serve.

NEW
The TTC expanded its commitment to financial empowerment and youth education by participating in Read Across America. We stopped by George Washington Elementary, Bautista Creek Elementary, Sierra Vista Elementary & Pedley Elementary to read the Marvel comic Investing in Each Other, using storytelling as a gateway to introduce students to foundational financial literacy concepts.
By presenting these topics in a fun & accessible way, students began connecting everyday decisions to long-term financial well-being. Early financial education helps ensure that all students have access to knowledge that supports informed decision-making and future economic opportunity.
“It took me a whole year to buy my Barbie Dreamhouse and car,” shared a fourth grader from George Washington Elementary. “It was worth the wait,” she told the group, highlighting how patience and saving can lead to meaningful rewards.
Through this outreach effort, the TTC continues to support the County‛s broader commitment to expanding equitable access to financial education and building stronger, more financially resilient communities.

ONE DEPARTMENT. ONE KNOWLEDGE HUB. OUR TRANSITION TO CONFLUENCE The way we store and share knowledge is changing. Our office is beginning an exciting, multi-year transition to Confluence, a centralized knowledge system designed to make our information easier to find, maintain, share, and preserve. Over the coming years, units will gradually move their notes and documentation into Confluence, one unit at a time. Your unit may not be part of the first phase, but eventually, this will become an office wide initiative.
WHY ARE WE MAKING THE CHANGE
Over the years, important information has found its way into many different places: I : DRIVE • PERSONAL FOLDERS • ONENOTE • WORD DOCUMENTS • PDFS • EMAILS • PRINTED MATERIALS
This can make it difficult to know which information is current, where to find it, and who has the most accurate version. It can also mean that valuable institutional knowledge may be lost when employees retire, transfer, or leave the office.
WHAT CAN YOUR UNIT DO NOW? 1. TAKE INVENTORY
2. IDENTIFY THE BEST VERSION

OUR TRANSITION TO CONFLUENCE. A NEW WAY OF SHARING INFORMATION Once information moves to Confluence, Confluence should become our first stop for office knowledge. MOVE AWAY FROM: Screenshots of notes Copying information into Word/PDFs Personal copies of shared information Referencing outdated documents INSTEAD: SHARE THE CONFLUENCE LINK. Need to suggest a change? Use the comment function so the appropriate supervisor or editor can review it. ONE LINK. ONE SOURCE . = LESS CONFUSION.
This project goes beyond centralizing knowledge; it’s about building transparency and shaping a healthier, more connected office culture. When we share what we know, we make information accessible so every staff member can thrive from day one. A faster onboarding experience for new staff, faster training, clear consistent procedures, less time spent searching for information & more! Your Knowledge Management Powerhouse

THE SCENES
TAX SALE
What makes the Tax Sale Team successful is not just the work they do, but how they work together. Their teamwork, diverse strengths and perspectives help create a collaborative and supportive environment.
That teamwork becomes especially important during busy periods, when days are often filled with researching information, proofing materials, and keeping multiple projects moving forward at once.
Outside of work, the team enjoys connecting through shared interests and hobbies while bringing creativity and fun to holiday and office celebrations throughout the year.
For the Tax Sale Team, that shared commitment is reflected in the way they approach their work each day. Known for being organized, dependable, and efficient, the team takes pride in supporting one another while delivering quality work and meeting the demands of a fast-paced environment.
Along the way, team members regularly work through complex situations that require careful consideration and attention to detail. By taking the time to look at every angle, they help ensure their work remains accurate, consistent, and well-informed while staying mindful of the R&T codes and deadlines that guide their responsibilities.
When asked what movie best represents the Tax Sale Team, the answer came quickly: Ocean's 8 and Charlie's Angels. As an all-female team, they felt these movies reflected the collaboration, trust, and unique strengths each person brings to the group.
