The lower ninth ward was one of many neighborhoods in New Orleans that had received most dreadful damages compared to other neighborhoods in the city. One importnat reasons was because of the man-made levees that failed to protect the land. This storm caused many of the rivers, the industrial canal and the bayou to overflow and surge in multiple directions, all causing horrific damages to the city.
