Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways, says that in the year ahead, AmaWaterways will continue on its path forward with new ships, itineraries and land packages, including the launch of the world’s longest river cruises in Europe, Seven River Journeys, the first-ever major river cruise along the Magdalena River in Colombia, and the all-new culinary-themed Flavors of Burgundy itinerary.

Cruising In Colombia

AmaWaterways is offering guests the choice between two seven-night itineraries, Magic of Colombia and Wonders of Colombia. Sailing between Cartagena and Barranquilla, both new itineraries take travellers down the only river in the Caribbean region to experience sites and cultural traditions that have been recognized by UNESCO. AmaWaterways is the first-ever major river cruise line to sail along the Magdalena River in 2024.

The cruise line will offer two custom-built ships in Colombia: AmaMagdalena, launching this spring with 30 staterooms; and sister ship AmaMelodia with 32 staterooms. The ships offer 237 sq. ft. twin balcony staterooms, a heated pool, a fitness room, a nail salon and a new al fresco dining experience.

Passengers can extend their journey with optional pre-cruise land packages in Medellín and Cartagena, and a post-cruise land package in Panama City.

49-NIGHT SEVEN RIVER JOURNEYS THROUGH EUROPE IN 2024

On the heels of making history with the longest river cruise experience in Europe spanning 45 to 46 nights in 2023, AmaWaterways will debut an even longer Seven River Journeys itinerary that gives travellers the opportunity to explore an additional country in 2024.

The two 49-night journeys take travellers on a voyage between the North Sea and the Black Sea. Sailing through 15 countries across the entire European continent, passengers will travel along the Rhine and Moselle rivers, through the Main-Danube Canal and cruise the full length of the Danube River including, for the first time, the Danube Delta region. Also a first for the cruise line, travellers can experience this voyage without transferring between ships; the entire river cruise takes place onboard AmaMora.

AmaWaterways will debut its all-new

Flavors of Burgundy seven-night itinerary in 2024, with pre- and post-cruise land packages in Geneva, Switzerland and Paris. In each destination, travellers get ample leisure time and exclusive excursions.

Save hundreds of dollars with Rocky Mountaineer’s two new promotions

VANCOUVER — Rocky Mountaineer has launched not one, but two limited-time promotions that will save travellers hundreds of dollars off their bucket-list adventure this year.

The Family Pricing Promotion includes US$700 off per child (applicable for 17 years old and under) on any new SilverLeaf bookings for the Rockies to the Red Rocks route, a journey between Denver and Moab. The offer runs until Aug. 31 and applies to trips booked for the July or August 2023 season, when sharing a room with a parent or guardian, with a maximum of four guests per room. The birthdates of the child must be provided at the time of booking.

In addition, Rocky Mountaineer’s Final Call promotion that runs through June 30 includes Can$1,000 off per couple, or Can$500 per person, on all Canadian journeys, and US$1,000 off per couple, or US$500 off per person, on its U.S. route in 2023.
