CHRONICLING HULL STATION’S HISTORY As part of Hull’s 175th anniversary celebrations, a mural celebrating the city has been completed in the Ferensway entrance of the station. The mural, created by artist Andy Pea in collaboration with students from Ron Dearing UTC, is a visual chronical of Hull’s history. Ideas from users of the interchange were also incorporated into the design. The mural reveals five chapters over each wall and the ceiling: East wall: a tribute to the city’s rich maritime history South wall: the historic Humber Bridge focussing on the theme of trade and nature West wall: a tribute to the life of the station North wall: represents Hull’s legacy of innovation, celebrating the trailblazers who have left a mark on the world Ceiling: a reimagining of Michelangelo’s ‘The Creation of Adam’ Andy Pea said: “I’m so proud to be a part of these historic celebrations with TPE and I’m delighted to unveil the finished mural to the people of Hull. “The ‘Creation of Hull’ artwork aims to enrich the urban landscape, proving that when a community comes together to create, the city flourishes as a canvas for collective expression.”
