WHAT HELD US BACK?

Quinn and Adam Kelly with the winning design

THE OFFICIAL TPE CHRISTMAS CARD COMPETITION A couple of months ago we ran our Christmas card competition, where we asked for your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews to help design the official TPE Christmas card. We received some amazing designs and are pleased to announce that the winner of the competition was: Quinn Kelly, daughter of Adam Kelly (Conductor, York) Quinn’s design features one of our Nova train’s travelling alongside Father Christmas and his reindeer, with a big bundle of presents. Hundreds of cards featuring Quinn’s design are being given out to our customers as they travel on-board our services this festive period. Quinn’s dad, Adam Kelly, a conductor instructor at TPE said: “When we heard Quinn had won the competition we were over the moon. She’s always had a great eye for art and so knew she would design a cracking Christmas card.” Our two runners up were: Kurtis Malone, nephew of Marie Malone (Conductor, Manchester Airport) Daisy Lupton, niece of Katie McLeod (Executive Assistant, BWH)

All of the design that were sent in will be on board our trains and at stations, and will be featured on our social media throughout December, so keep an eye out.

T3 and T15 has improved on the previous week, however this is offset by a high number of P-coded and on the day cancellations due to action short of a strike (ASOS). There were also some weather-related faults on the West Coast mainline. We had a high number of shortforms due to ASOS which caused extended dwell times and non-working toilets on Class 185s

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES Our accessibility team were at Manchester Piccadilly last Monday (3 December) giving out some #positivelypurple chocolates to raise awareness of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Kurtis Marco Malone, 4

The day celebrates the positive contributions made by people with disabilities and gives us a chance to raise awareness of the challenges people with disabilities face. it also highlights the importance of accessibility, inclusivity, and equal opportunities.
