In the past decade a worrying number of scandals across many sports have hit the headlines. Bad governance and corruption damage not only the image of sport, its federations and representatives, but compromise the positive influence sport has, especially on young people, in spreading the values of good sportsmanship and Olympism.
This eight- recommendation document calls on FIFA to order an independent investigation of existing corruption allegations and introduce new procedures to ensure transparency and good governance, such as term limits for senior positions and a conflict of interest policy, with external figures present in bodies that make major decisions.
