Maria Bouquet is an Argentinean artist. Born and raised in Buenos Aires. She studied Art at the School of Fine Arts (UBA) and at Pratt Institute, New York. At Pratt, she got a Masters of Fine Arts. She graduated at the top of her class with honors. At Pratt, she was also part of the Provost Office’s Team for two years shaping and supporting all aspects of academic life with the aim of creating an inclusive and engaging environment to allow students and staff do their best work. Since then, she has worked as a light artist, painter and photographer. Some of her professional highlights have been participating in Critic and Analysis of Contemporary Art with Louise Bourgeois in New York and with Carlos Gorriarena in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Maria’s work has been showcased in major fairs, such as Art Basel Miami, AAF Contemporary Art Fair New York, The Other Art Fair by Saatchi Art, Dumbo, New York, World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, Washington D.C., Museum of Contemporary Art Del Marco & Cecilia Caballero Gallery in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Thank you for participating in Transcendence, Transformer’s Benefit Auction! All Proceeds from Transcendence will support participating artists and Transformer’s exhibitions & programs.

SILENT AUCTION BIDDING

To place a bid, you must register via OneCause: onecau.se/transformertranscendence

Contact information including email address, phone number, and credit card are required to receive a bid number. Use only the registered bid number assigned to you to bid.

OneCause allows bidding from either the OneCause website on a desktop or from your phone. Navigate to “Bid Now!” to find all Auction Artworks and Experiences. You may sort items by close time, price, and medium.

Once you find an artwork you are ready to bid on, you will have the option to BID or BUY IT NOW. After submitting a bid, you will be prompted to set a Max Bid. If you choose this option, OneCause will automatically bid on your behalf up to the Max Bid amount you set.

Items you bid on can be found at “Menu → Your Activity.” Alerts will be shown such as “You are High Bidder,” “You Have Been Outbid,” or “Item Has Been Sold.” The phone number used for registration will receive a text if you have been outbid.

The Auction will close in staggered lots, beginning with Lot 1, closing at 8:53 pm.

PLACING A BID ON AN ARTWORK OR EXPERIENCE ITEM IS A COMMITMENT THAT YOU WILL PURCHASE THE ITEM IF YOU ARE THE LAST BIDDER. IF YOUR BID IS THE LAST BID, YOU HAVE WON THE ITEM AND ARE REQUIRED TO HONOR YOUR BID WITH A PURCHASE OF THE WORK.

WINNING BIDS & PAYMENT

Bidders are required to provide a credit card within OneCause in order to place bids. Credit card information is held securely in the OneCause system and used solely to process payment for Artworks & Experience items to the winning bidder.

Winning bidders will receive notification of their winning bids via email or text from OneCause within 5 minutes of the Auction closing at 9:23 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Within 30 minutes of the closing of the Auction, purchasers will be prompted via email and text with a link to their cart to check themselves out. If a purchaser does not check out on 11/23, payment will be processed by Transformer staff on Monday 11/25.

All Sales Are Final. No Purchases will be returned, refunded, or exchanged. All Artworks & Experiences are sold “AS IS” exhibited/offered. Please contact Autumn Banner at autumn@transformerdc.org or 202-483-1102 with questions.

PICKUP & DELIVERY

Transfer of Artwork will occur after payment has been processed. Winning bidders can pick up their Artwork from the AU Katzen Arts Center (4400 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20016) at no cost from Monday, December 2 –Friday, December 6, 2024, 12pm – 6pm.

Beginning Monday, December 9, artworks can be picked up at Transformer from 12 - 6 PM. All Auction artworks must be picked up by Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Shipping/Delivery of your Auction artwork can be arranged for additional payment through independent carriers. Transformer is not responsible for acts or omissions of carriers or packers of purchased works, whether or not recommended by us.

Each Artwork or Experience carries an estimated market value obtained from sources the artists or donors believe to be reliable, but no representation of warranty as to the actual resale value of any item being auctioned is made or implied. The estimated value is intended as a guide to assist you in your bidding.

Each Auction Artwork is sold “AS IS”. All works can be personally viewed by prospective buyers or by their agents via the Transcendence exhibition being presented at the AU Katzen Arts Center November 9-22, 2024, Monday-Saturday, 12-5pm.

Transformer makes no warranties or representation of any kind or nature with respect to any Artwork or Experience, including but not limited to, any representations or warranty of description, genuineness, attribution, provenance, or physical condition, nor as to the right of reproduction, if any.

transformer is a Washington, DC based 501 (c) 3 artist-centered, non-profit visual arts organization. Founded in June 2002 by artists & arts organizers, Transformer’s mission is to connect, elevate, and serve a diversity of emerging artists and arts leaders. We develop innovative, multi-faceted exhibition and program platforms, both independently and through global partnerships, to present artists’ evolving ideas and work, advance new and best visual arts practices, and engage audiences with emerging contemporary art. Transformer is committed to diversity, professional excellence, artist equity, open dialogue, expansive cultural exchange, and freedom of artistic expression.

Since its founding, transformer has exhibited the work of 5,000+ emerging artists through more than 600+ comprehensive exhibitions & programs at our 1404 P St NW project space, and through large-scale, off-site collaborations with more than 100+ cultural institutions, and 50+ international partnerships in DC & beyond.

Transformer has provided artists with more than $2.5 million in honoraria, travel, and material support, and more than $1.5 million in art sales splits through our Auction, Exhibition Series, FlatFile program, and special events.
