Transfer Flow auxiliary systems are computer controlled using the patented technology of our MaxFlo-TFI or TRAX-II operating systems. Transfer Flow has the fuel system that fits your needs. Transfer Flow's MaxFlo-TFI auxiliary system comes pre-assembled and consists of an auxiliary fuel tank, an in-line pump, a wire harness, and a computer module. MaxFlo-TFI is designed for late model and earlier trucks. Your in-dash gauge: blue indicates when fuel is The computer module turns on the auxiliary pump when the fuel level on the transferred from the auxiliary tank to the main OEM fuel gauge drops between 3/8 - 5/8 of a tank. The auxiliary tank then transfers fuel into the main tank until the fuel gauge rises to about 3/4 full. TRAX-II is our computer controlled, self diagnostic auxiliary fuel system. TRAX-II consists of an auxiliary fuel tank, an in-line pump, an auxiliary sending unit, a wire harness, an installation kit, and a dash mounted LCD computer module. TRAX-II balances the fuel flow between tanks. The computer regularly determines the fuel levels of the main and auxiliary tanks, and the status of the vehicle’s fuel system. Based on the calibrations for your vehicle and the auxiliary fuel tank size, the TRAX-II module is programmed to transfer fuel at designated fuel levels. The message, “PUMP ON” will be displayed on the dash-mounted LCD during fuel transfer. With the automated TRAX-II system, there’s no need for a toggle switch between fuel tanks. The TRAX-II module does the transferring of fuel for you!

TRANSFER FLOW, INC. (“TFI”) fuel systems and parts are - EXCEPT AS NOTED IN PARAGRAPHS 2, 3, AND 4 BELOW - covered by a three year unlimited mile warranty against defects in material and workmanship. This warranty is in effect in the United States and Canada from the date the unit is purchased by the Original Purchaser (“Original Purchaser” shall mean the person who purchases for his own use).

2. Specific Parts Warranty

Specific parts purchased from TFI are warranted against defects in material and workmanship as follows: • Sending units are covered by a one year warranty from the date of purchase by the Original Purchaser. • 12-volt refueling pumps are covered by a two year warranty from the date of purchase by the Original Purchaser (AND ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR AVIATION FUEL). • Spray-on bedliners are covered by a three year warranty from the date of installation for the Original Purchaser.

3. Exclusions And Limitations

THE TFI WARRANTY, DESCRIBED IN PARAGRAPHS 1 AND 2 ABOVE, IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS: • The rights of the Original Purchaser under the TFI warranty are LIMITED to return of the goods and repair or replacement of nonconforming goods. • THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF USE OF THE WARRANTED PRODUCT, LOSS OF TIME, INCONVENIENCE, TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES, TOWING, EXPENSES FOR TRAVEL, LODGING, TELEPHONE AND GASOLINE, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY OR LOSS OF REVENUE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. • The warranty will not apply when product failure is caused by conditions beyond the control of TFI, such as: (1) Malfunction due to incorrectly ordered product (2) Damage from misuse, negligence, or failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance (3) Damage caused by improper installation (4) Damaged caused in shipment or improper handling (5) Damage caused by contaminated fuels or fuel additives (6) Product modification or alteration • Products made from pickled and oil material are not covered under warranty for corrosion. • The in-line fuel filter provided with the TFI fuel system is not covered by warranty as it is a standard maintenance item. • Any action against TFI for breach of the warranty must be commenced within one (1) year after the cause of action has accrued. • Any action against TFI for breach of the warranty must be commenced in the Superior Court of Butte County, State of California. •

4. Warranty Claim Procedures

If you have difficulty with your fuel system, consult the dealer where the unit was originally purchased. Your dealer will then contact TFI and request assistance. TFI will require model, part and serial numbers, proof of purchase, and date of installation. TFI reserves the right to examine the claimed defect in the field or upon return of the tank or component to TFI’s facility with all shipping charges being prepaid. If a part is defective and must be replaced, TFI will provide a Returned Merchandise Authorization (“RMA”) number, authorization, and instructions for replacement or further handling. No payment will be made for parts purchased or repaired in the field without prior authorization by TFI. TFI will pay its established warranty labor rates to service points or service dealers who have service agreements with TFI. If an item is shipped as a replacement for a defective part, a charge will be made for this part. Credit will be considered upon return of the defective item. ALL RETURNED ITEMS MUST BE IDENTIFIED WITH THE RMA NUMBER AND RETURNED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF OPENING THE CLAIM.

5. Federal Regulatory Provisions

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State, and in accordance with specific federal regulations. TFI does not authorize any person to create for TFI any other obligation or liability in connection with TFI fuel systems. If TFI fails to successfully perform its obligation under this warranty, the Original Purchaser has available the remedies provided by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (P.L. 93-637) and any applicable state law.

what Is A “lEGAl” Fuel Tank? FMVSS 301 states that anyone who alters a vehicle must meet or exceed the structural integrity and performance of the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) fuel system. A fuel system includes anything associated with fuel systems such as the fillneck, tank, gasoline lines, fuel pump, emission canister and fasteners. In other words, if an alterer adds an auxiliary system to a vehicle which reduces the performance of the fuel system, he or she has violated FMVSS 301 standards. An example of performance reduction could be if fuel from the original system leaked because the auxiliary system was gravity feeding into the original tank. This creates a safety concern as it not only violates FMVSS 301 regulations, but is also a hazardous waste problem. In order to address the question of which federal or state regulations a fuel system must meet or exceed, it is necessary to know the particular vehicle and fuel system being used. The following information is divided into two main categories, Vehicles less than 10,000 GVW, and vehicles greater than 10,000 GVW. Be advised that this information is not intended to be a complete list, but rather a general overview.

A gravity feed fuel system may be easier to build and cheaper to buy, but does that mean it’s the smart choice? Due to safety, environmental, and legal concerns, Transfer ﬂow engineers will not endorse, promote, design, install, or sell gravity feed fuel systems because of the inherent risk they impose. On a gravity feed system, if the valve, connectors, or fuel line have any malfunctions there is nothing to stop fuel from overﬁlling the OEM tank and leaking all over the road. By installing a gravity feed system, you’re also disabling safety features of the OEM fuel tank. Transfer Flow Auxiliary Tanks Are NOT Gravity Feed Systems. Our tanks are NEVER to be used in conjunction with gravity feed fuel systems.

what is OBd-II?

In this catalog, you’ll see that many gas fuel systems are for OBD-II or non OBD-II vehicles. OBD-II (Enhanced Evaporative On-board Diagnostics, 2nd Generation) is a highly sophisticated on-board monitoring system that is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module. Beginning with 1997 fuel injected gas vehicles, OBD-II monitors all emission related components and systems as the vehicle is driven. This includes the vehicle’s fuel tank system.

Transfer Flow inboard chassis frame and in-bed tank systems meet and exceed the OEM systems in the following areas: Transfer Flow tanks are designed using, as a minimum, 14-gauge aluminized steel. Aluminum diamond plate in-bed tanks are 1/8” thick aluminum. Transfer Flow tanks are fully baffled unlike OEM tanks which have no baffles. Transfer Flow tanks are drop tested as high as 44 feet, filled with water, and cannot leak. Many Transfer Flow fuel systems are also crash tested to FMVSS 301 standards. Transfer Flow tanks are pressure tested for leaks. Transfer Flow tank systems meet the fastener (strap) regulations specified by ANSI and NFPA, and are required by RVIA. Transfer Flow systems meet CARB and EPA emissions regulations. We design our systems with the correct emission canister capacity necessary for gasoline applications. Transfer Flow fillneck designs meet CARB fuel fill regulations. We design our fillnecks with proper alpha and beta angles and correct inclination angles for gasoline and diesel applications. Transfer Flow systems meet CARB and EPA requirements concerning fuel fill rates. These tests verify our fillneck systems fill at a minimum rate of 10 gallons per minute.

Transfer Flow inboard mounted systems meet or exceed the following tests: Transfer Flow inboard frame rail mounted fuel systems are tested following RVIA regulations and standards. Transfer Flow tanks are drop tested as high as 44 feet, filled with water, and cannot leak. Transfer Flow tanks are pressure tested for leaks. Transfer Flow tank systems meet the fastener (strap) regulations specified by ANSI and NFPA, and are required by RVIA.

Plus, Transfer Flow fuel systems for vehicles greater than 10,000 GVW are designed with the following criteria in mind: Transfer Flow tanks are designed using, as a minimum, 14-gauge aluminized steel. Aluminum diamond plate in-bed tanks are 1/8” thick aluminum. Transfer Flow tanks are fully baffled on all four sides. Transfer Flow tanks are pressurized to 5 psi pressure tested for leaks to as high as 5 PSIG with air while under water. Our fuel systems meet CARB, DOT and EPA emissions regulations. CAUTION Each fuel system is accompanied by a complete set of instructions. These instructions must be followed with no exceptions. The systems must be used as intended. Always follow State and Federal guidelines for installation of fuel systems. Always follow existing recommendations from the manufacturer concerning system installations. Refueling Tanks

General Information

Transfer Flow refueling tanks meet and exceed D.O.T. standards for Intermediate Bulk Containers. Our refueling tanks must adhere to the following guidelines: The Department of Transportation has issued Transfer Flow Special Permit SP-11911 to manufacture and sell refueling tanks that can store gasoline, diesel, gasohol, methanol, ethanol, jet fuel and kerosene. Transfer Flow refueling tanks are designed to be mounted near the head gate in a pickup box, flat bed or utility box. No other location on the pickup or truck is recommended. Transfer Flow refueling tanks meet or exceed the testing and certification requirements specified in 49 CFR 178.803. All refueling tanks, including Transfer Flow’s, must be retested every 2.5 years in accordance with 49 CFR 180.352. D.O.T. requires that Transfer Flow refueling tanks must be attended at all times during loading and unloading by a qualified person. Attended and qualified shall have the meanings described respectively in 49 CFR 177.834 (i), (3), and (4). A copy of Transfer Flow’s DOT Special Permit SP-11911 must be carried aboard each motor vehicle used to transport a refueling tank.

• The 1990 Clean Air Act states that an individual owner of a

vehicle may modify the fuel system only if it complies with all federal regulations. Failure to meet these regulations will risk state and federal penalties. When an auxiliary system is added to a gasoline powered vehicle, the fuel must be drawn through a pipe at the top of the tank. Gravity feeding from one tank to another using a balance line is illegal for all gasoline systems except ICC diesel systems. Replacement fuel systems are acceptable as long as they meet the previously discussed regulations. Should non compliance with FMVSS or the 1990 Clean Air Act be discovered, the owner would be liable for civil penalties up to $2,500 for each violation. Do not sleep in the bed of a truck if an in-bed fuel tank is installed inside a camper shell. Transfer Flow fuel tanks are not to be used in conjunction with fuel tanks made by other fuel tank manufacturers.
