Kerry Sinn Féin will hold its annual Gortaglanna Commemoration this Sunday, May 11th at 12pm, to honour IRA volunteers Jeremiah Lyons (20), Paddy Dalton (28), and Paddy Walsh (30). The three young men were unarmed and returning from a religious mission when they were captured and executed by Crown Forces in Gortaglanna, Knockanure in 1921. Their deaths were falsely reported as the result of an ambush—claims later refuted by local witnesses and communities. The event remains a powerful reminder of the brutality of British rule in Ireland and the enduring struggle for independence. Sinn Féin’s Kerry Chairperson, Dáithi Fitzgerald, will deliver the oration. “These men were close in age to me. Their dream of a united, equal Ireland is still alive, and it’s our generation’s duty to realise it,” he said. All are welcome to attend. The ceremony takes place at the Gortaglanna memorial site near Knockanure.
Botox, commonly known for reducing wrinkles, is also an e ective treatment for teeth grinding (bruxism). This condition, often caused by stress or misaligned teeth, can lead to jaw pain, headaches, and worn-down teeth. When injected into the masseter muscles—the jaw muscles responsible for chewing—Botox temporarily weakens their activity. This reduces the intensity of grinding and helps relieve associated discomfort without a ecting normal facial expressions or chewing ability. Results typically last three to six months, o ering a non-invasive alternative to mouthguards or surgery. Many patients report signi cant relief after just one treatment. However, it's essential to consult with a quali ed medical professional to determine if Botox is a suitable option for your speci c needs and to ensure safe administration.

Excitement is building in North Kerry as Abbeydorney LGFA prepares for a landmark event later this year. The club has been honoured with an invitation to take part in the renowned Tara GFC/Green Build Tournament in London this September — one of only four Irish clubs selected to attend.
A group of 32 players, along with seven coaches, will travel from September 19th to 21st. The club will field two U16 teams and a minor team in what promises to be a memorable sporting and cultural experience for all involved.
Club chairman Mike Moloney expressed pride at the invitation,
calling it “a huge honour” for the club. However, he acknowledged that such an opportunity comes with considerable costs. Flights and accommodation will be covered by parents and coaches, but additional expenses such as team gear and local travel in London are estimated at €5,000.
“To help ease the burden on families and ensure the girls have the best experience possible, we’re appealing for public support,” said Moloney.
“Any contribution will make a real difference.”
To assist with fundraising, the club has launched a crowdfunding
campaign at idonate.ie. Donations can also be made via bank transfer or cheque using the details provided on the club’s social media pages.
“This is an incredible opportunity
for our girls to compete with clubs they wouldn’t usually face. With the community’s help, we hope to make it a trip they’ll remember for years to come,” added Moloney.
