THE BRIDGE

Students from Jacksonville Job Corps recently visited Trailer Bridge’s corporate headquarters for a hands-on learning experience focused on transportation and logistics career opportunities. The full-day event included a visit to the company’s port operation at the Jacksonville Port Authority’s Blount Island Marine Terminal, a workshop in its maintenance shop and other classroom learning centered on career development.
“This experience gave the students an insider’s perspective on the day-to-day workings of a transportation and logistics business operation,” said Trailer Bridge Vice President of Employee Services Kacy Swanson.

August was a month full of celebrations as we celebrated our placement on the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Fast 50 List as well as being named the Top Ocean Carrier in Logistics Management’s 2024 Quest for Quality (Q4Q) Awards.
Trailer Bridge came in at No. 43 in the Fast 50 list with an average 15.58 percent growth rate over the past three years. Colleagues from various divisions of the company joined together for the awards reception to receive our trophy and celebrate the honor. Learn more about the award here.
The Quest for Quality award program is the only one of its kind in the transportation and logistics industry using reader ratings of carriers, third-party logistics service providers, and U.S. port operators to determine winners. TB took the top spot in the Ocean Carrier category with a weighted score of 53.35 and ranked as a top leader in two* attribute categories. Find out what categories and read more about the award here.
Both awards are a testament to all of you within TB and your commitment to living out our culture of service to those around you and the customers and partners you support.
Trailer Bridge was at the Cocina Sabrosa show this past month helping retailers stock their supply chain inventory. This show focuses on Latin American food and beverage brands. Our team spent the two-day show talking with attendees about TB’s domestics transportation and international shipping solutions. And they didn’t miss the opportunity to taste-test some of the delicious products being served by the brands onsite. Sidney Klimko, Logistics Sales & Ops – Dallas, even braved the heat trying the Texas Pete Spicy Lemonade!
Up Next! Team Trailer Bridge is preparing for the upcoming Global Produce & Floral Show happening October 17-19 in Atlanta.
If you need assistance with an upcoming trade show, reach out to Kimberly O’Sullivan, Marketing Manager at kosullivan@trailerbridge.com.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate all those who are embarking on a new school year – some for the first time ever! Whether your student had the first-day jitters or quickly waved goodbye as they jumped out of the car – we are wishing everyone a happy and successful school year ahead.

Here are a few of the shout outs from this past month:
“Jamie (McLennan) consistently delivers exceptional service to both our carriers and customers. She communicates promptly about any issues that may affect picking or delivery times. Jamie is always proactive! We’ve received positive feedback from Darla at Allen Distribution praising Jamie’s outstanding service.”
“Carissa (Latorre) has been a Rockstar since joining our team! She took on Penske customers with confidence and has since taken on more responsibility! She has since been praised by her outside peers for the excellent customer service skills amongst other customers.”
“Chad (Potts) has done some excellent analysis on DR profitability and how we measure utilization for our Ocean voyages. Additionally, this last week he filled in for Ron Lewis on our cash flow forecasting and cash/credit line management in excellent fashion.”
The following individuals have done a great job building relationships and securing large customers – setting the stage for a strong finish to 2024!
Michael Preamble proved persistence pays off in the world of sales finally landing test shipments with Colgate-Palmolive after pursuing the account for 9+ months. This business has the potential yearly revenue of $1.5 million for our Ocean Division. Nice work, Mike!
Alec Noble & Matt Fitzgerald were both named US Foods’ All-Stars! Jason Hall, Transportation and Logistics SVP at US Foods said this about the recognition:
“At US Foods, when we think about an All-Star, it starts with reflecting on our Cultural Beliefs of Delivering Excellence, Stop Waste, Win Together, Speak Up, and You Matter. We look for those partners who embrace those beliefs in their support and execution of US Foods’ business. When we ask our team, you both are at the top of our list of All-Stars who embody our beliefs. These are individual awards, reflecting each of your commitment and support of US Foods as we work to deliver against our goals of Cost, Capacity, and Consistency.
Thank you for the outstanding support of our business!”
Congratulations to Jennifer Gutierrez, Sr. HR & Payroll Specialist, on her recent marriage to Ronnie Norman. The two enjoyed a beautiful and intimate ceremony on Aug. 18 in Negril, Jamaica.

‘In the Chicken Lights’ is a monthly feature that profiles standout performers in carrier sales and management.
We are excited to spotlight the efforts of Noah Wilson from our Jacksonville logistics office.
Noah joined TB in May 2024 with zero logistics experience and by his second month on the job had booked more loads than our average Top 25 rep. In July, he booked 50 more loads than he did in June and had reduced his bounce percentage by 3 percent. He uses the resources available to him by the Analytics team to chart his progress and asks for regular feedback. Noah is currently managing four carriers and is making great strides toward booking all his freight with managed carriers. In addition, he consistently enters information into our CRM helping him build strong relationships with his carriers and partners.
Keep up the great work, Noah!
Congratulations to Patrick Crews on being selected by the Truck Ops team as the August Driver of the Month! Pat joined the Trailer Bridge family in January 2019, and since then, his exceptional professionalism and unwavering courtesy have made a lasting impact. Every day, Pat brings a positive attitude and dedication to his work, making him a true pleasure to work with.
Pat is always ready to lend a hand, even with last-minute requests, and handles every challenge in stride without complaint and with a can-do spirit. His hard work and commitment ensure our loads move safely and on time each week.
Thank you, Pat, for everything you do.
We truly appreciate you!
