Its that time of the year again where you get the chance to recognise the acheivements of your colleagues. It what has been an unbelievablly challenging year for the Trust, there has been many outstanding performances across the Trust with many people receiving Golden Moments Certificates and many achieving Gold Standard PROfile. Its now YOUR chance to vote for your colleagues.

Remember if you don’t vote they cant win! These are your awards so make sure you vote. As usual I’m looking forward to a great Awards Evening but unless you vote there wont be anything to celebrate.

Over the past few years the Awards have been the highlight of the year and the turn-out has always been excellent. Joanne Fitzsimmons and Dale Farnell are leading this years event so watch out for more details very soon. You never know I may receive a nomination this year....then again!

On the 11th February 2015 at Altrincham Leisure Centre, Gymnastic Trafford hosted the annual Primary Schools Key Steps Competition. For the first time ever the competition was over subscribed with more than 200 children competing, because of this next

will be split in to two qualifiers one for the North and one for the South.

I also deal with cheque requisitions. Sometimes that may be to pay a new supplier before we arrange an account, or it might be a customer refund. I Also process sales ledgers Invoices and process the Business Credit Cards, open the post and bank the cheques, etc. Day to day I handle any queries relating to these, whether it’s an internal query from a site, or a supplier enquiring about their invoice. Overall if it involves the Trust making a purchase or paying a bill, then the Purchase Ledger Clerk will probably have the paperwork.

Bio: I was born in Manchester and live in Partington. I went to Broadoak High School and left when I was 16 to work with an Airfreight company in Sharston, which I really enjoyed.

I started working with Trafford Borough Council in 1987 then transferred over to the Trust in 2004. I have 2 sons and 5 lovely grandchildren - 4 boys and 1 girl. I look forward to the weekend when I catch up with my grandchildren, they are my life.

I also work part time at Manchester City Training Ground at Carrington. I have worked there for about 5 years, but it will soon be coming to an end as Manchester City has moved to the new training ground near the Etihad Stadium.

We all know that our staff deliver a First Class Service, and on occasions may receive token gifts or offers

of hospitality from a satisfied customer or a regular supplier by way of a personal thank you.

The SLT has recently reviewed our policy on the acceptance of such gifts and has determined that token gifts up

to the value of £30 may be accepted by staff provided they declare it to their Line Manager. Acceptance of gifts of a higher value must be approved by a member of the SLT.

All sites now have a register of Gifts and Hospitality which will either be kept by your Site Administrator or at smaller sites by the Centre or Service Manager.

If you do receive any gifts for a job well done please make sure that you register it with your Line Manager and have it duly authorised.
