All sites donated their income from Into Sport sessions during the week and members who receive the sessions for free were asked to donate to The British

This year we had an 1980’s theme with all the different sites dressing up tables and going that extra mile with some impressive designs. The winners were Altrincham and William Wroe Golf Courses with their ‘Its a Knock Out theme’, they won some goodies to share out amongst the staff

Youngsters from Altrincham’s Kids Camp joined Bladez Roller Skating Disco for 2 weeks over Easter holidays. Bladez Roller Skating Disco we feel very pleased that the The non skaters with our help have all managed to skate by the end, and with a little bit more practice will become good skaters in the future.

Yesterday 10 year old Jamie joined the group with no experience of skating. In our area used for beginners we kitted him out with the protective wear and gave him some useful tips and assistance to get him started. We also helped him to skate around the main area to build his confidence. He became so confident he said he wanted to skate by himself, without us walking beside him to support him. We felt so proud of him when he was able to skate around with the rest of the children unaided. He started the session like Bambie and ended up cautiously skating around with his friends, what an achievement. After the session had finished he

The World Cup is only 6 weeks away and we are getting into the spirit of it by putting on an internal challenge for all our members to take part in. The programme will be running for 8 weeks from May 12th and will involve 3 levels for the members to complete, each increasing in difficulty. The levels will all have 8 international players with an approximate distance they cover per game. If they complete each level they will get a customised England shirt (level 1), Brazil shirt (level 2) and Spain shirt (level 3).

Golden Moments Its not everyday that our staff do something so amazing as saving a customers life but it happened twice to us in the last year. Remember Altrincham’s members of staff reviving Gordon Hutchinson after he had a heart attack in the gym?

Well, members of staff and a customers saved Ian Holding’s life as he was exercising at George H Carnall Leisure Centre after he collapsed while having a heart attack. Members of staff Chris Lloyd, Steve Aston, Tania Poznanovic and customer Julie Palmer assisted in bringing him back to life using the on site defibrillator. We are all very proud of you for what you have done in saving Ian’s life. Well done.

It goes to show how important defibrillators are within our sites and available to our staff, use when need in an emergency situation. You can see why our Mayor of Trafford Cllr Dylan Butt’s charity for 2013/14 was to raise awareness of and the installation of Defibrillators in public places across our borough of Trafford. At the Life Centre in Sale on Wednesday 9th April, Adam Bowerman and Steve McDonald carried out over 30 lifestyle assessments. Trafford Partnership brings together more than 100 organisations including local and regional partners from across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors. Mel Hill carried out a health walk at lunch time and Lee Myers senior coach at Sport Trafford, did a wake up motivational talk after lunch. All activities went down well with all the organisations.

In addition staff also took part in a series of competitions throughout the week. The events were played in great spirit with the result of the week coming down to the netball match on the final day. Marsland House were crowned as overall Champions for the week. Event entry fees, donations and a badminton tournament lifted the total raised for the week to £580.

This year we had an 1980’s theme with all the different sites dressing up tables and going that extra mile with some impressive designs. The winners were Altrincham and William Wroe Golf Courses with their ‘Its a Knock Out theme’, they won some goodies to share out amongst the staff

A huge thanks to everyone who took part and donated to such a great cause, it was a brilliant effort.

This month saw the 7th annual Staff Awards night and what a night it was! I don’t know about you but it seems like they are getting better and better each year.

Well done to all the people who made a real effort and came in their 80’s fancy dress. Well done everyone for helping The Trust reach and exceeding our target for The British Heart Foundation. The cheque was handed over on the night with the impressive total of £11,800 and all sites receiving a Golden Moment Award, well done to everyone!!
