“This collection of photographs pay homage to the very idea of being an artist. Who’s cooler than an artist?! Passionate, creative and dedicated, they are the people I admire most. If eyes are the windows to the soul, then artists are the windows to our cultural soul. It’s through their eyes that we can look deeply within in ourselves. When I’m shooting, I am looking to get to know my subjects, to learn who they are and where they came from. I am curious to know where they are heading as artists. Since the studio is where it happens, it’s a privilege to be invited in and to get a glimpse at what’s to come. I am constantly seeking out the things around the space that influence the artist—their inspiration references, memorabilia, books, and music. I’m looking for connections, things we have in common, things I can take away with me to use.
