Our Story

WEARABLE FINE ART

David began his formal glass art training in 1999 when he attended the Pilchuck glass school founded by Dale Chihuly. There he studied the art of shaping and polishing glass under Mark Taylor. It was here that David developed a unique style of cutting glass derived from his experience working with crystal, and his observations of ice formations. These new techniques enhanced the light in his creations, and thus began his sculpting career. While attending college he began evolving his style, and showing his work in West Coast galleries. After graduation in 2004, David attended Pilchuk again, and continued improving his sculpture techniques. His style was becoming more detailed and precise. Shortly thereafter David got his big break. The founders of Google commissioned him, to construct a five-foot glass sculpture of the Google logo in his unique style. This enabled him to move to San Diego, and open up a studio.

Once in San Diego, David began focusing on smaller sculptures such as candle holders and paperweights. At a farmers market in May 2005, a young lady asked David to transform one of the custom paperweights into a pendant, and when she put it on, David had a lightbulb moment. From then on, he evolved his signature techniques into the creation of his LeightWorks Crystal Jewelry line. Davidâ€™s desire to create unique, custom, wearable art can be seen in the pieces he creates today. His award winning jewelry is now sold throughout the world in museums, galleries, airports, casinos, cruise ships, gift shops, and other retail locations. LeightWorks has been seen on FOX, NBC, CBS, and KUSI. LeightWorks prides itself on making colorful crystal jewelry that is not only beautiful, but also durable and waterproof. The Process

Using original techniques, each piece of fine optic glass and natural quartz crystal is hand-cut and layered inside with precious metals to produce the iridescent glow of color from within. Different blends of precious metals are cold-fused inside the piece with UV light to produce different colors. NASA developed this technology for the heat shields on the space shuttles. The pieces are frost or polish finished, then completed by handcrafting sterling silver and/or gold designs around the glass. All pieces are custom shaped to enhance the light and color bringing style, simple elegance, and an eye-catching quality to all who wear them. The pieces constantly glow and change color depending on the amount of light around the piece, skin tones, movement, and color of your clothing.

Ordering & Important Info Ordering

To order an item from our catalog, simply choose the design and the preferred finish. Each piece has a sku and a barcode specific to that finish and color variant. If you’d like to pick out the items yourself but don’t know where to start, our best sellers are marked throughout the catalog with a star. Be sure to include some of our #1 top selling Drop Earrings (EAR-020). We sell two times the amount of these compared to other pieces, and they go with everything. In addition to our best sellers, ordering a few larger statement pieces will create a beautiful display. Our medium and large drop pendants are great eye-catching pieces as are many of our pieces with sterling silver designs. You can also ask for an assortment and we are happy to choose a nice selection for you.

Selecting Colors (color chart on page 1) We suggest you order our best selling styles in each of our top 3 colors in either polished or frosted finish, or both for variety. Our top colors are blue, green and fire. You will sell twice as many blues and greens, so order a larger quantity of these. It’s also very important to brighten the display with splashes of fire, a unique vibrant color that adds a pop and catches the eye. The heart pendants and earrings are popular in pink, and the violet is a great color to have on hand in smaller quantities. To further fill the display, we suggest you add aqua, which is in-between blue and green. Aqua is consistently one of the best selling colors for our coastal accounts. Packages

Minimum opening orders are $300. Additional orders are $150. First order is prepay. We accept all major credit cards. Net 30 terms available upon approval.

Shipping

Please allow up to 1-2 weeks for delivery. Often, we’ll be able to ship sooner. All orders ship USPS Priority. Shipping costs are not included in pricing.

Returns and Exchanges

We guarantee exchanges on all of our products. Any returned product requires a pre-authorization by LeightWorks. Items must be returned in good condition and then a credit or exchange will be issued. Any shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. In the event products are received damaged or there is a short shipment, please notify LeightWorks ASAP so we can resolve the issue.

Care

Our pieces are solid sterling silver, waterproof, durable, and easy to clean. If your piece starts looking tarnished, you can use Haggerty’s silver dip to refresh the sterling silver components. To clean your LeightWorks crystal, simply use water and a soft cloth to polish. Do not use any chemical cleaners on the piece.

If you need to place a quick order, don’t have time to choose, or don’t know what to choose and would rather we pick for you, check out one of our packages. We have many options from starter to premium that will fit a variety of budgets. The packages contain many of our best sellers in our top selling colors; blue, green, and fire. This will start you off with a good selection as well as make it quick and easy for youto re-order when you need to fill in with more pieces. Many of our customers add additional pieces to their packages or like to add additional pieces to their hand-selected orders. For this reason we’ve created our super convenient Add-On Packages that allow you to easily build your order with the right selections for your budget, location, season, and demographic. We offer a free countertop display on request for packages over $1000 that make displaying super easy and sell the product beautifully. All of our earrings come on J hook cards and our pendants can also include them per your request. We also offer barcodes on our products for vendors who request it. If you’re hesitant about choosing a package because you’re not sure what will sell, we guarantee exchanges so anything that doesn’t sell can be swapped out for pieces you know are selling. Our packages are one of the easiest ways to try out the line and one of the fastest ways to stock back up once you see how well it does for you!
