CERTIFIED AMERICAN BISON LEATHER WITH HISTORIC BUFFALO INDIAN HEAD NICKEL

certified American bison leather with historic buffalo indian head nickel

he BUFFALO NICKEL was minted from 1913 – 1938. Also known as the BISON NICKEL or INDIAN HEAD NICKEL (featured on the reverse side along with date of coin).

Considered a work of Art and Beauty it was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser. The Indian head is a composite of 3 Native American Chiefs. Along with the Buffalo it is a salute to the images and history of the American Great Plains.

Due to a minting error, the date is located at a high point on the Indian Head surface. Never corrected, it caused many dates to become illegible or completely worn off. Removed from circulation in the 1950’s and 1960’s nickels with any kind of visible dating have become highly collectable.

No nickels were made in 1922, 1923 or 1933. Watch for 3 legged BISON – a very rare minting mistake from 1937.

The Nickel sewn into your wallet is dated anywhere from 1920 – 1938.

Full Grain “nappa” leather, never suede, is used for all items. Each skin is drum dyed, for dyed through color, and tumbled, to create its soft hand. The naked finish allows each piece to become softer and darker with use without compromising strength and durability. Interiors are completely sewn with 210D nylon or microfiber. Colorfast threads, blended and sewn with approximately 10,000 stitches, produce the unique artwork. Superior quality and intricate detail combine to create a distinctive product – no two will be identical. Use daily and enjoy for years to come!
