Probationary Period extended
You've settled into your role and completed your induction learning. Your manager confirms this and you carry on as normal.
Sometimes a little more time is helpful. If so, your manager will agree clear objectives with you, the support you need and a new review date.
In a small number of cases, where expectations haven't been met despite feedback and support, your probationary period may not be passed. If that ever became a possibility, your manager would have raised it with you well beforehand.
No surprises at your review - anything discussed will already have been raised with you. Your manager can talk you through the full detail, which is set out in the Managing Probationary Periods Reference Guide and FAQs.
02
Everyone joining us has a three-month probationary period. It isn't a test designed to catch you out - it's a structured way of making sure you get the clarity, feedback and support you need to settle into store life. It sits alongside your Brilliant Beginning roadmap, Confidence Checklist and Capability Assessment.
