Dear Fellow Cattlemen and Cattlewomen, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our 7th Annual Bull Sale. We appreciate you taking the time to view our offering. Without a doubt, this is the best set of bulls we have assembled to date. We work tirelessly to produce cattle that are the right kind to maximize profits for our costumers in todays markets.

Rest assured these bulls are ready to go to work and provide the most return, with the least amount of input.

These bulls are the best of the best from our Embryo Transfer and AI programs coupled with some of the most proven herd bulls around.

Our cowherd is run like any commercial cowherd. With moderate feed prices and pasture land at a premium, we demand that our cows be efficient and able to convert forage into pounds. Much like yours, our pastures are fescue, and efficient, sensibly framed cattle have proved their economic value now, more than ever. We demand the dams of these bulls be good footed, good uddered, slick off in the spring, and have good dispositions. You will see the same traits in these bulls.

We realize there are many bull sales as to which you can find a bull and we thank you for your consideration. We want to emphasize the fact that when you buy one of our bulls, you are not just buying a bull, but buying into a program that is committed to providing you the best product available anywhere. Every year we have people come through that have been to other sales and tell us that our bulls are as good or better than anywhere they have been.

All of the bulls have been ultrasounded and that data is available.

They have also been fertility tested and will be ready to go to work. We provide you with this information so our bulls can be as transparent as possible. We want you to be informed as you can be about your new purchase. New this year, our bulls were developed on Purina’s new AR Developer product. This is similar to the grower we have used in the past, but with less energy and more fiber. We have stayed with this program as we have had many reports how impressed buyers were that their bulls didn’t melt after turnout and they stayed good on their feet and legs. Our bulls have also been BVD-PI tested negative.

The Battle Cry Sire Group Battle Cry is without a doubt, the most consistent sire we have ever used. His progeny are attractive made cattle that start small and hammer the scales at weaning time and as yearlings. He is in the top 1% of the breed for WW EPD and top 2% for YW EPD. 761E has been one of my favorite bulls all year long. I challenge you to find one that’s any deeper and stouter and can still motor like this bull can. He is a rare combination of performance, power, and mobility, while still maintaining that eye catching phenotype. At the end of the day, we are all in the beef business and this one here is a BEEF BULL! He’s as long as a well rope, stout made, running gear to cover a bunch of cows, and his calves will be the best looking ones on the farm. He ratioed 113 for weaning weight and boasts a WW EPD of 90 and a YW EPD of 139! That would make him the highest EPD growth bull that we have ever offered. His impressive young dam raised a $13,000 Angus heifer in our sale 2 falls ago. If you want to add pounds to your calf crop, without sacrificing maternal ability, don’t leave Lamoni without this bull!

The Battle Cry Sire Group I could write an individual footnote for these next 3 bulls but I would sound very repetitve. The Significant Sire Group Significant - A few years back, we noticed a bull at Wildberry’s sale in Illinois that we thought looked interesting. He was a baldy, outcross bull

with big time performance and breed leading EPDs. We weren’t able to get him bought, but we did breed several cows to him, and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. He has sired stout made, sound cattle that are big middled and have flat out performed. If you have bought our genetics in the past and are looking for some different bloodlines, take a look at this group of sons. We hope you like them as much as we do!

I’ll be honest, its easy for me to get fired up when I talk about this bull. We are proud to offer what I think is one of the most unique bulls to come along in the breed in a while. I think this bull is the true definition of a power bull. He is as long bodied as anything we have. He is an absolute monster in terms of base width and muscle dimension. He is big backed, huge butted, and as pulled apart in his skeleton as you could ever want one. The amount of internal dimension this bull possesses is second to none. He is perfect footed, his angles are spot on, and he moves like a bull half his size. I will be the first to admit that he is not freak necked, but he does possess great front end extension and his neck ties in high on his shoulders and he will give you a look as good as any freaky made bull. The cow family he hales from have great feet, awesome udders, shed early, fertile and for those reasons have great longevity. Examine him on paper and you will notice an outcross pedigree with elite growth figures and awesome carcass numbers. His API and TI are in the top 3% and 2% respectively in the breed. Here is your chance to own a breed leading stud and what I think will be a breed changing individual. I believe he has the ability to sell lots of semen if the new owners so desire. These kind don’t come around everyday, so take full advantage here.

As we mentioned in another footnote, the Yetti donor has cemented herself as one of the premier herd sire producing donors in the country. This is one the most impressive Lock Down sons we have had and is also one of the most fault free bulls in the offering. We sampled a little of the True Justice bull and here is a son that is the definition of a Curve Bender. He started at 79 Lbs. and came in with a 807 Lb. weaning weight. This baldy bull has a great disposition to go along with his awesome performance and great EPD profile.

We have really been impressed with the stoutness of our Aftershock calves. They have started small, grew well and have as much muslce shape as any cattle in the offering. Take a long look at these small birthweight sires. They are calving ease bulls that will add growth and stoutness.

We are proud to offer an elite set of commercial SimGenetic bred heifers. Russell Boles, a long time supporter and friend of Ruby Cattle Company has elected to offer these females from the heart of his program. These females are sired by bulls produced in the Ruby program that Russell has purchased over the years. The females represented in this group are good footed, easy keeping, and big bodied. They come from a low-input, productive cowherd.

The 30+ bred heifers in this offering will begin calving around sale time and will sell in groups based on calving dates. The majority of the females in the offering are AI bred to RUBYS INCENTIVE 540C, the high selling bull from the 2016 bull sale. 540C was a standout herd sire prospect that offers calving ease with huge growth.
