Welcome to the Sale

Dear friends and fellow cattlemen, All of us at C-Bar extend a warm invitation and welcome to our friends and neighbors in the cattle industry and Red Angus business. I hope this past year has been a good one for you and I am excited to show you the fruits of our labor as well as introduce to you our newest venture with the Wallace and Keller Families and our creation, Cloud 9 Cattle Co. The pages of this catalog will introduce you to the Cloud 9 herd and I feel very fortune to be able to be a partner in the continuing legacy that Ennis has been building in Wisconsin.

In writing my annual welcome letter I always look back on previous years comments for inspiration. Not that my writings are a work of art, but in hopes that I might be able to show an organized plan of our approach to breeding cattle and working with families, co-workers, and our valued customers. The cattle are never more important that the people who we are working with.

I call myself a traditionalist in my approach of breeding cattle. Yes, I do use a lot of technology through an extensive embryo transfer program, and I am always watching the EPD’s and various evaluations in our industry. However, I still believe a really good cowman knows which ones are getting the job done right! Progeny proof is king around here!

This year we have hand selected the sale offering from a calf crop at least double the number we have ever had before. Yet, they are all still from our top producing cows. Making so many ET calves is not cheap or easy, but it has allowed us to make quality in quantity. I am extremely pleased with many of the new genetic lines we have incorporated this year. Red Angus Enthusiasts, It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the “Elite Female Sale” at C-Bar Red Angus. There is no question that this is the deepest and most consistent offering of females to ever be offered in Brownell, Kansas. The tradition of creating superior Red Angus genetics has enable Steve Maier and his family the opportunity to let loose of females that would not normally be offered for sale.

The foundation of these females originates from some of the most potent and well-respected cow families within the breed. Females that have been promoted to donor status within the C-Bar program have undergone a stringent process to prove their worth.

With the utilization of extensive Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination, the next generation of Red Angus genetics has been obtainable at a more rapid pace. Numerous full and maternal sisters out of premier donor females will be offered because of the intensity of the C-Bar ET program.

Finding a balance of superior phenotype, carcass quality traits, and exceptional numerical values is a feat. However, the balanced traits that the cattle that carry the C-Bar prefix offer are unique to the beef industry. Udder quality, feet and leg structural correctness, and confirmation are the components that are heavily emphasized when it comes to visual selection.

With changing times, come new opportunities. The newly formed partnership that is known across the land as Cloud 9 Cattle Company has set in place standards of equal importance. Elite cow families and superior phenotype is exemplified within this set of females that reside in Emerald, Wisconsin. Females from this herd and these cow families will also be offered through the Elite Female Sale on October 22nd.

1. BIDDING

Terms and Conditions

The Auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids, and his decision on such matters shall be final.

2. TERMS

Terms of sale are cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made with Sale Management prior to sale.

3. PURCHASER’S RISK

Each animal becomes the risk of the Buyer as soon as sold, but it shall be the obligation of the Seller to see that animals are fed and cared for free of charge to Buyer, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of 48 hours after the sale, whichever occurs sooner.

4. HEALTH

All animals are eligible for interstate shipment, except as otherwise announced. Interstate health papers will be furnished for each animal requiring tuberculosis and brucellosis tests in accordance with Federal Regulations.

5. ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any changes from information of any kind in this catalog will be announced from the auction box and such announcements shall take precedence.

6. DEFAULT

In the event the Buyer defaults on payment, the Buyer shall be responsible for all costs, including attorney’s costs, incurred by Sale Management or Seller in connection with collecting, or attempting to collect, payment due.

7. BREEDING GUARANTEE

All animals are guaranteed by the seller as outlined in the Red Angus Association of America Code of Ethical Sale Practices.

8. CONTRACT

The above terms and conditions of sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal and shall be equally binding upon both. Each sale or resale of an animal constitutes a separate transaction.

9. LIABILITIES

All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. The seller, the sale manager, and the auction facility assume no liability for accidents that may occur. It is to be clearly understood that the sale manager and their representatives act only as a medium between the buyer and seller.

Ms Joline Z243 ironically was a pregnancy that was sold to Jeffries Red Angus of Oklahoma, and then purchased back when C-Bar and partners, Brett and Lori Goodson of Texas, selected her as the $26,500 pick of Jeffries herd, which sold in the 2015 Mile High Classic. This female is a product of the program, being a daughter of C-Bar Eldorado 114Z. Z243 female conveys class, elegance, and maternal strength.

We are confident that this female will carry on the family traditions for years to come!
